Eloise Nichols Grill + Liquors
Well done but never overdone, where drinks are a food group, late-night is a staple, and quality is a given. Come when you can and stay as long as you’d like.
Please call the restaurant for parties of 9 or more to make reservations.
Reservations are not necessary for Saturday and Sunday brunch. It is suggested that larger parties call the restaurant ahead of their arrival.
Great food and great wine selection.
Food was ice cold, asked server to microwave and still cold
Very pleasant. Will be back.
Great for a business lunch. Service was great and it was quiet enough to talk.
Love the food
It was very nice. Would go again................................................................;
There was a big lag between our appetizer and entree. No explanation given. The food was great but we were starving when it arrived so that might factor in.
It was very good dining experience. Food was delicious and the service was great. It is loud which would be my only complaint.
This was my first time having brunch at the restaurant and I was not disappointed. The food was excellent and our waitress Arlene was very patient and attentive to us. I would definitely return for brunch again.
We came here for Bday celebration. The food was pleasantly great. The Betsy’s favorite pasta, shrimp & grits, and the Joe’s hot chicken were just delicious and fresh ...! The service was a five star treatment. They have a great collection of bourbon and whiskey. The service was a five star treatment. Our waiter.. Eric and his team were totally awesome , attentive, and very nice!
I will go back, but don't think I realized the menu was so similar to Adair's. If I want Adair's food, I can go to Adair's. If you can update the menu, that would be great!!!
The place is great. I had the Brüssel sprout appetizer and a Health Bowl with Salmon. I also enjoyed a rye based Old Fashion from the bar. The service was good, and for its location in the city, I’d say this place is a gem given the pricing and the quality.
We went for Houston Restaurant Weeks, and were not disappointed. Meals were delicious, and drinks were tasty. Our waitstaff was excellent. Ambiance was great and wasn't crowded for a Saturday night at 8pm. Definitely recommend.
This was my second visit to Eloise Nichols and the food was great both times. We participated in Houston Restaurant Weeks menu. This place is fast becoming a favorite.
Loved this place. Cocktails were decent, but not crazy amazing. The food, service and wine, however,b were spectacular. Thoroughly enjoyable date night (though it does tend to get a bit loud)
Sat for 30 minutes without any service. Left with other couples who were not being served.
Food was not good. Salad had no taste and shrimp and grits were so salty I could not eat them. They were kind enough to accommodate me with another option from their Restaurant Week menu, however the replacement porkchop was tasty but very overcooked. I will not be returning to this restaurant
The food was delicious and our server was excellent and very attentive. I got the shrimp and grits and my husband ordered the pork chop. I ordered a delicious drink that came in a cute brass pineapple. My only question is I think the name is a misnomer- there isn’t a selection of liquors and not much grilled. But still a nice place. I feel like it’s a perfect place for girls night out or lunch or brunch.
We’ve been meaning to check out ENG+L for some time and finally made it for Houston Restaurant Weeks. It was outstanding. Food was delicious. Service was great—Berenice was very friendly and attentive and made a great wine recommendation. The other staff were also attentive. We’ll definitely be back.
Great food and excellent service. First time dining here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Brunch was great with a cool vibe.
Dined on the HRW menu which was very tasty! Our server must have been new, as he kept asking us the same thing over & over. Then he broke the cork off in our wine bottle. You were kind enough to replace it, thank you. I will be back. Thank you for participating in HRW.
Enjoyed a nice lunch!
Amazing service as always!!
The food was very good. The drinks were ok. Our service was subpar. The waiter was rude, not helpful with questions about the menu, and impatient with us. It also seemed as though the establishment nickel and dimed us charging us extra for making a martini dirty and requesting to see an ID to prove it was a birthday celebration for free desert. We also sent back a drink and were charged for it, which I've never experienced before. Won't go back.
Their happy hour is not that great.. No menu , you have to ask about happy hour specials.
We came on a Saturday for lunch not aware that the menu was brunch only. We were not really wanting brunch meal but looked for other offerings. We were disappointed that there was not much to choose from that would not be brunch. Several of us got a burger and another got shrimp and grits. What we had was good but wished we had a bit more of a choice that was not brunch. We could understand that brunch would be perfect for Sunday.
This is my 1st to write a review. First of all it was my friends BD and I had sent this note in my reservation. She ordered a salad that looked like a bag of leaves was dumped on a plate with stems on the leaves and nothing else on the plate to make it look pretty. Dressing on the side. My salad was better. No bread, no crackers-just a sad looking amount of food. No celebration.
I had a brunch here before and it was nice but this was embarrassing.
It was Ok. The menu was different than what was published on the Open Table app.
Go here for the decent bar drinks and super wait staff service. Food should be secondary for your trip. It is very unpredictable in quality: sometimes pretty tasty, next time not so much. Prices are not terrible but feel too much when you get a so-so meal. Easy to access. Pleasant atmosphere. Good location.
Dinner on the early side on a Saturday night - not terribly busy, so had a peaceful dinner with easy conversation between the 3 of us. Nice not to have to struggle to hear dinner companions. Cozy, charming ambiance. Great cocktail menu, and nice wine and beer options, too. We all loved the cornbread that was served to the table. Carmelized brussel sprouts for an appetizer were a big hit. Attentive server. Portions were generous. We all enjoyed our food. This was our visit to Eloise Nichols, and we all agreed we would go back. (soon!)
Great brunch! Enjoyed our Saturday morning brunch very much! Excellent food & service.
The staff is always amazingly nice and accommodating to my service animal. The food is great!
We enjoy our meals here. Great to meet up with friends for a drink and meal.
Great service! Yummy food and drinks!
Very nice first time visit, food was good service was excellent. Thanks Eric!
Service is consistently slow. Great food and very nice servers.
Service was excellent (Kat was server). Food was very good and different (why I went there). Food delivered to table hot which is always my main criteria. Picked Eloise to have quiet business discussion. Was as quiet as can be expected. Really enjoyed the lunch e perience. Will go back often and I can an will highly recommend it. Thanks.
First Sunday brunch at Eloise and will definitely be back!
