Very laid back spot. Food was tasty. Drinks were a hit
Eloise Nichols was a perfect place for a Friday morning brunch! DELICIOUS food and drinks! Highly recommend!
We ended up sitting at the bar as it wasn't crowded at all. The bartender was outstanding, attentive and creative we had a great time. We will be back.
Not bad.....Not great Just OK
excellent place for a small dinner. We enjoyed the service
This is our third time getting cold food and undercooked hash browns. The brunch used to include wonderful hash browns, but have been replaced with something more common and undercooked in our last two visits. The biscuits used to be glorious: fluffy and delicious; this last time they were more like those biscuits you get in the supermarket that come in a pop up tube.
I don’t think we’ll be branching here again. A shame as it was one of our favourite brunch places.
My go to place - great food, drinks, service. And NOT loud at all. Amazing!!!!
Had lunch at Elois with a girlfriend. We had the shrimp and grits and that was to die for! Highly recommend
There weren’t enough servers so it was slow. Food was tasteless. I expected a lot more.
Really enjoyable! Great food, wonderful service and great ambiance. We really enjoyed our experience and are headed back next weekend for a special occasion!
We were there for brunch, and we all had the Biscuit Benedict. It's unusual, with a pulled pork base and paprika Hollandaise, and very tasty. The food was good, but the service pretty bad. We were there to visit, so it was OK, but we sat for a very long time before someone came to offer beverages. Even then, he was reluctant to go ahead and take our order, but we'd had plenty of time to choose! The food came out quickly, so no problem there, but we hardly saw the waiter afterwards. Then it was an effort to flag him down for the bill.
Be aware that the restaurant is very noisy if anyone in your party has difficulty hearing.
Lovely place to go for a date or with friends
Great service provided by Miles.
Went with my wife. Was hoping for a quiet evening. The ambience was way to loud for us. The food was good
Thank You, it was wonderful drinks, the food, everything was good!!
The food was bland and unseasoned. It was fresh, well cooked, but tasteless.
This was our first time at Eloise Nichol, and it certainly won’t be our last! Everything about it was perfect. We were greeted immediately and warmly, seated at a comfortable half booth table, with the sweetest server, Bernice. She was wonderful, suggesting certain items and explaining that their menu is seasonal, pointing out the items that change and the ones that are favorites which stay.
We started with the fried calamari and shrimp, which was delicious, and I don’t even eat calamari! For dinner I had the rib eye steak with Brussels sprouts and hubby had the shrimp and grits. I have fined at many upscale steak restaurants, and have to say this was better than the steaks I have had at the others. It was tender, juicy and cooked to perfection. Hubby loved his shrimp and grits and said it was very flavorful. We were not planning to have dessert, and decided to give one a try. On Bernice’s suggestion we ordered the apple fritters, which are made to order, served with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream! All I can say is “Wow!” Even the coffee was great.
In addition to the food and service being wonderful, our water glasses were always filled for us, and the atmosphere was relaxed and warm. Enjoy!
It was outstanding.
Loved then Brussels sprout dish and the roasted oysters. Everything else, from service to food to wine, was pretty disappointing.
Very tasty food but incredibly noisy
We eat out often. Been to 15 of the worlds top restaurants and 32 of Houston tops. This restaurant is the worst we have ever been to. I had the grilled chicken sandwich. It was a thin piece of very burnt chicken on a dry bun. Chick fil a does it 100 times better. My wife had the fish tacos. They were just as terrible. Not sure how this place stays in business serving such terrible food. Acoustics terrible. Very loud and noisy.
It was my daughter and my birthday we like to celebrate just the two it was perfect not to crowded nice environment delicious food and great prices
The food was just ok. Nothing to rave about. The service was really good though. The restaurant is very nice and bright.
So disappointing. We’ve have enjoyed Eloise Nichols for several years now but this visit was a dud. We love going for their fried chicken! We’ve taken groups as big as 14 for fried chicken dinner so we were excited to go and enjoy it again. I was craving their biscuits something fierce and the first thing the server did was inform us they were out of biscuits. I just don’t understand how this happens. Biscuits are made with flour and water. It’s pretty basic and available at any grocery store. Can’t someone go get the items needed or are they just too lazy to make them? The rice cauliflower had absolutely no flavor at all and the server just wasn’t really with it. The real disappointment was the chicken that had absolutely no flavor.
Overall the experience was okay. I’ve been here for brunch and was much more impressed with the quality/value of the food. The menu for dinner was a bit disappointing, it was a very basic menu in comparison to the ambiance of the restaurant. I also thought the service was mediocre. Nothing wrong or bad happened but it was just very average. Not likely to return for dinner but will go back for brunch.
Kevin was the perfect server. Pleasant and knowledgeable. I would return
The hostess was very friendly, but the wait staff was not and although it wasn’t busy, everything (drink and food)took a long time to come out.
It needs to expand their happy hour menu besides martinis and a burger. There are all kinds of competitions around them, it’s time to get creative.
Much too loud for a business lunch.
So so food, slow service. Overall a so so place.
This is a great neighborhood brunch spot with a fun vibe and great food. I hosted a birthday party for my daughter who was celebrating her 17th, and the restaurant was very accommodating and attentive to the girls. The Chicken & Waffles is a family favorite!
Very loud music playing - even at an earlier time. Food is great
Good variety of food. The tables are not as close together as so many places so we could carry on a conversation.
They closed early for a private party, but allowed us to stay.
I would have not picked that reservation/ restaurant had I known they were closing early for a private event.
The reservation time should have have been an option.
I was very disappointed as I have eaten here several times and really enjoyed it. This time the food was definitely not as good: I had the catch of the day-it looked and tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave too long; my husband’s chicken was tough; our friend’s power bowl had practically uncooked rice in it (which they did replace, but still!). It was very loud, which was not unexpected. When we arrived, they said someone had changed our reservation time (we had not, and they were able to seat us). Our server was pleasant but often not attentive.
Sigh, I hate to see one of my go-to restaurants not keep up.
Always a great experience and food. Waitress was very warm and friendlyz
Absolutely no complaints here! From the happy hour martinis to the delicious chocolate cake we shared for dessert, it was all good! Our server Kevin was super and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We will return to try something else on the menu.
Good lunch spot. Go early to beat the crowd!
I want to be a fan of Eloise Nichols as I was in the past. I now feel like this place lacks a bit of direction. My party ordered the cheese plate, pork chop, and the Thai salad. The cheese plate was not allowed to come to room temperature before it was served cold. The Thai salad had too much fish oil. The pork chop was overdone and lacked flavor. I want to be able to come back and have meals like I did in the past but tonight’s meal reflected a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen.
Nice waitress who was attentive throughout our meal.
