Elm Street Cask & Kitchen
Reserved this restaurant for a 10:00 p.m. late meal after a downtown event. Walked in and were seated at 9:45 p.m. The waitress told us "the kitchen is closing in exactly ONE MINUTE." So what would have happened if we had shown up on time instead of early? The waitresses were not motivated and it showed. Empty glasses stayed empty for a long time. The chicken sandwich was dry; mac and cheese was blah. Should of went to fast food!
For a restaurant with only 5 entrees, they were out of ingredients for two of them. The steak was mediocre at best. There was only one server/bartender taking care of the entire area, with an apparent manager that spent time behind the bar talking with her but not helping that I could tell. Very poor experience.
We made a reservation but they closed at our reservation time. Very uncomfortable situation however we stayed - we had no place else to go. They were nice enough to feed us but we rushed through meal since we were only ones in restaurant. Also no bar service. I realize it was Christmas Day however that’s why we made the reservation because of holiday closings
The restaurant was featured in an online story to be open on Christmas eve and also took reservations via OpenTable. After driving 20+ miles to the restaurant, it was closed. We ended up eating across the street at Campisi's. Apparently, they do not know how to use the OpenTable service and should have never been featured in the article. Disappointed and more than likely won't bother to drive into downtown again.
Food was great! GET THE BURGER! But we walked in to nobody to greet us at the front desk, and we had to walk around to find the host/hostess to seat us. Other than that, service was great, food was even better, and its a super cute restaurant! I will definitely be back to try their brunch!
Food was great but the bartender went on political rant in front of entire bar and made whole experience really awkward. Probably wont be back.
Made a reservation via Open Table, got there and no one working front desk. Go to the very busy bar and was blown off by the bartender. He finally comes back to the front desk, I stop him and ask him about our dinner reservations. He tells me the restaurant area is not open! I repeat to him we made reservations, he is very rude and asks who I made them with, I tell him Open Table and he just shrugs his shoulders and says well I don't know. Seriously!?! So rude, unprofessional and ridiculous!
Attended Mother’s Day brunch. What a joke and unbelievably overpriced. Should have decided to turn around and not pay the $50 adult. $35 child rate.
Actually saw people walk in, look at the food and walk out. They made the right call.
Important not to take advantage of paying consumers. Understand your value and price appropriately. Would have enjoyed The Original Pancake House more.
overall had a good experience. the food wasn’t bad, but our servers were a little slow. we were excited about the smoked bloody mary in a chinese to go box... but it was very underwhelming. it wasn’t filled to the brim, it was very watery not enough umph to it... oh well
The painting contractor was painting the bar whatever special they had were not discussed signage was very poor. Parking was by discovery. Thou the place was empty they had so many empty tables and chairs it was crowded.
Food and service was good.
I love this place. By far best brunch downtown
Chicken and Waffles was incredible. I wasn’t expecting much and the seasoning on the chicken was unique and delicious. Would definitely return to eat at Grayson Social.
We went around 7 on a Saturday night and it was essentially a ghost town. While the hostess/waitress was nice, service was appallingly slow given the fact that there were fewer than 20 people in the restaurant. We had every intention of staying for dinner but after getting our mediocre appetizer before our cocktails that we ordered when we were seated, we decided to go across the street for faster service and better food. Unfortunately, there is a reason that this cute restaurant is completely empty in downtown Dallas on a Saturday night.
The service was good and the restaurant has a really cool vibe, but I don't think the food was worth the prices at all. The drinks were also expensive (and I was overcharged for my drink!), so for that reason I probably won't return. It was convenient to just walk down to the lobby to get brunch while staying at the Hilton Garden Inn.
It was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The hostess was rude we had a reservation and she said they were too busy they couldn’t take us. This was supposed to be our for Easter brunch. They had advertised a buffet and there was just a small menu for Easter brunch! Ruined our day
Extremely slow service. Took 25-30 minutes to get two mimosas. Very little acknowledgement when delivered and casual apology. We didn’t really mind, but the staff didn’t seem to care. Would not go back.
Easter brunch. The signage and parking situation left much to be desired. I was unable to find the valet and ended up parking in self-park garage. The ambiance was very nice and the food delicious.
It seems this restaurant is in the middle of a flux. The menu has been cut down to just a few items and one waitress was available for the entire restaurant. We've been here many times before and it was always wonderful, but there seems to be a change in management in progress or something. Wouldn't recommend it until it gets everything worked out!
Restaurant was not busy. Bar service was delayed by 25 minutes. The manager comp’d the drinks but there was no attentiveness. Very unfortunate considering the restaurant was not busy.
We drove around for 30 minutes trying to find the restaurant. The address was not correct on open table or on the restaurant website. We then called the restaurant several times to ask location and there was no answer. We also asked valet and they couldn’t seem to tell us where it was. This ruined our Friday night.
Service is always superb!
We arrived and were greeted by a young man informed us the restaurant was closed. Will not be back.
Was disappointed bc the menu was not the same as their online menu. Their menus did not have a huge selection. On the day of my reservation which was schedule for 1130 a.m. i recieved a call at 7 or 8 a.m. telling me they were closing doors early at 11 a.m. and i needed to come before 11 a.m. i thought that was bad service especially on the day of on a Christmas Eve day. For was decent and prices were ok
Wow- Grayson Social is a great little place to eat and chat. The food is great (I had chicken and waffles for brunch) and the ambiance is so pretty. But the best part was the service. We had Bani taking care of our large group and he was efficient and friendly. The owner checked on us several times, too. I spent a week in downtown Dallas for a conference and this was my favorite meal by far. Thanks Grayson Social! #besocial
Went for dinner. Made reservation through Open Table. When I️ arrived they had said that the dinning room was closed and I would have to sit in bar. The menu was a “bar menu” with very limited selection. I️ found something decent, but disappointed in the fact that they didn’t serve the dinner menu from their website.
My husband and I attend for Saturday brunch. The food was excellent and our waitress Hannah was phenomenal!
I have visited Grayson Social before on many occasions, twice with booking a group reservation of 15+. I was so impressed the first time, that I came back again, and next time with me people. This time I was completely UNHAPPY after realizing the entire menu had been changed. They had taken off some of their top dishes, to include Cheese grits, Killer biscuits, and the excellent thick cut bacon they once served, plus a Buscuit and bacon sandwich that was amazing.
I was distraught and wanted to walk off, but I had brought another group of friends to try out the wonderful place, and I could not leave. The menu was VERY LIMITED! The ambience is still beautiful, so hopefully they won't change that, but I was told that was about to happen as well.
Management should realize that some things are better left alone, and it's different and wonderful tasting food options that help business flourish. Marketing is the main issue, along with steady management. When those things are properly in place, all else will fall into place.
Good luck on what's in store next. I'm hopeful you bring back the menu items that were once loved by all
We came in for a post-bachelorette party Sunday brunch. It was the perfect end to a very fun weekend. The food was amazing, very much high end versions of classic Southern comfort food. Our bride to be is from Georgia so she was in heaven. The cocktails and the coffee were delicious and the service could not have been better. We will all definitely be back.
Your website says you have valet but there is NO SIGNAGE for this. Drove around the block 3x, finally gave up and parked in the garage next door -- $15!!!!? My $12 salad was sad. Lettuce and cucumber and a few tomatoes. No bread, no other veggies. $60 for lunch for 3, PLUS parking. No wonder we were the only people there.
We waited over 45 minutes for greasy country fried stream and egg, overcooked Kobe burgers (which did not come in kid size as originally promised) and a disappointing not-so-fresh-tasting biscuit. Only the homemade parfait with granola was good. Their cocktail menu is very nice but their coffee is very weak and they don't even have cappuccinos!
Food portions were extremely small. Service was slow and awful. The Greyson Morning taste like lemons no alcohol at all. Absolutely will not be going back!
Our experience was a dreadful nightmare of horrible service and inconsistent food quality. After making the manager aware of all the issues (he'd disappeared for some time during the debacle and I had to ask for him) he did offer to comp the meal, which we appreciated. But I was thoroughly embarrassed to have taken a group of people to this incompetently managed restaurant and would never recommend it.
Had a wonderful experience at Grayson Social last weekend for a Bachelorette Party! Our server, the food, the drinks, and the ambiance were all impeccable. All very unique! Thank you so much!
Our second time here and it was even better than the first.
Table service was great- man behind bar was by far the RUDEST , MOST CONDESCENDING bartender I have ever had in my life. SKIP on this place unless you want to a bad experience.
Great experience, showed up late for our reservation and the had no issues getting us seated
Absolutely fantastic experience, food and service!
Good restaurant, not what I was expecting when I walked in. (I reserved on line) wanted a nice place to take my 17 yr old daughter for her birthday dinner this was more of an adult contemporary resturant. Great food.
