The food and drinks were both really good! But the key lime pie was the BEST I've ever had! The customer service was great too, would definitely go back!
Food was delicioius. Always great quality and plenty of it. Chef Dodds does not skimp on quality or quantity. Love the atomosphere - casual elegance. Great for a date night or family/friends gathering. A new favorite.
We absolutely loved out experience at Elm&Good. The East Texas hush puppies and riblets were to die for! Also, the red fish and paella were most satisfying by taste and size of portions. I would highly recommend dining here. We will certainly be back.
We loved the restaurant and the building it is in.
It is Beautifully done .
We ordered a couple of starters with some cocktails .
The Frito mixtto was too greasy and a little over cooked .
The grilled artichokes were incredible.
We loved them .
We ordered several mains .
The redfish was delicious!
The mushroom paella was ,too.
The pork schnitzel was not attractive and had no taste .
They kindly took it off our bill .
The churro and the buttermilk ice cream were wonderful!
We liked the atmosphere and Will go back .
The space itself is fantastic. Cozy, chic, sexy, comfortable. The service was friendly, unpretentious and fun from the second we walked in. The food was OUTSTANDING! Do not miss the onion rings!! I can’t wait to go back. I didn’t sit at the bar but definitely want to do that when I return. BTW, there is a parking structure around the corner. Makes dining in Deep Ellum less stressful.
Service was spotty.
Food was not reliable and tasteless. Overall not a good experience
Restaurant was decorated very modern and nice. Lighting and ambiance was good as well.
In our party of 4 we had...
Bavette which was good.
Pork schnitzel was burnt and bland
Hamburger was good, sharp cheese gave it bold flavor
Carbonara was very bland as well.
Hibiscus was probably our all time favorite restaurant. So we were excited to try this one out. Sadly we won’t be returning here again.
The service was great & very attentive. We were seated in a room by ourselves after I asked for a quiet table because our friend is hard of hearing. This was our second time here in the past 3 weeks because we love the food. I had the mushrooms paella both times. It’s a beautiful restaurant connected to the historical Pitman hotel. The outdoor pool bottom rises to the top when the pool is not in use & it can be used for yoga, etc. Inviting outdoor fire pit ...
I loved it here. It was great and we were treated so great.
There were hardly any patrons in the restaurant during our 8pm dinner on Saturday 3/13, but it still took 25 minutes for us to receive our drinks from the bar. Additionally, our waitress was very unfamiliar with the menu. She was unable to recommend choices, even recommending a beef tenderloin filet, which doesn't exist on the menu. The pork schnitzel was very soggy and the breading slide right off. The ribeye was good, but priced at fine dining establishment/steakhouse prices. Skip this place until they figure some things out.
Nice atmosphere, great bartender. Wish there was more dining away from the bar area itself. Food was pretty good, maybe a little pricey.
We had ordered takeout dinners and were attracted to the space when we would go to pick up our order. So, we were looking forward to finally being able to dine in. The interior of the restaurant is very attractive, quiet and, comfortable. However, parking is a disaster. (More about that later.) The food was very good, although I found the menu selections to be somewhat limited. I ordered the Bavette steak, the highlight of which were the onion rings that came with the dish. (I would suggest that the restaurant also offer these as a separate side dish since they were that good.) The service was only fair. Our dessert (the churros and dipping sauces) which was also tasty came after we had finished our coffee and paid the check so we had to ask for those to be packed up to take home. (The kitchen did not seem that busy, nor were we informed there would be a delay.) Regarding the parking, you have to find a pay metered spot on the street. There is apparently a parking garage associated with the hotel, which is not easy to find, and which charges $7.00/ hour! The restaurant does not comp the parking fee, even though the garage and hotel apparently are both owned by the same people. Since we live in the area, we would like to go back. But, they really need to fix the parking arrangements and the service. And, consider modifying the menu to broaden the selections.
We returned after about 11 mo to see if this restaurant had gotten its act together since it had just opened when Covid hit. The food was great then but terrible service and parking issues. I’m sorry to say there was no improvement - the service was inconsistent and the food also inconsistent- outstanding burrata and then grilled artichokes that were undercooked so unable to eat with little meat on leaves. The main dishes were good. We received a dessert for my birthday that we didn’t order and then we’re charged for it- it was very mediocre too. We were hoping for so much better since this place has so much potential.
Very nice restaurant, elegant yet casual. The food has been very good the two times we've eaten there. I think we had a inexperienced server so service was not as on spot as it should have been. However, I recommend Elm and Good to anyone staying in the hotel and to all who want a nice meal at a reasonable price in a lovely setting.
Great food and excellent cocktails. Atmosphere was perfect.will be back for sure.
Really enjoyed our meal and drinks! The flavors in my mushroom paella were amazing. The portion sizes were perfect; we would definitely eat here again.
Lovely to go out to eat now we have had both covid vaccinations
This is an outstanding place - good vibe, creative menu, primo ingredients. The service was impeccable. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. For the appetizers - when they say "world's best foccacia" they are spot on. Riblets were great as well. For dinner - all entrees were fantastic - the mushroom paella a great choice for vegetarians and non-veg alike. The bavette was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Tried the brussels sprouts on the side and they were delicious!
Would recommend this restaurant to others. Love decor and food was very good. Between the two of us we shared the hush puppies (best ever!), focaccia, sunchoke dip, and pork schnitzel. All delicious! Beware that the parking garage Open Table tells you to park in charges by the hour and the restaurant does not validate.
I stayed in the hotel connected to the restaurant, but I made a reservation to be on the safe side. The reservation was at 730, but we were told we wouldn’t be seated for about 20 minutes. The service was absolutely horrendous-wait staff was slow and faux friendly, host was impolite/awkward, and food including apps took forever to arrive. The only saving grace is that the food was delicious, but I’m not sure I’d return. Our meal was comped because the entire experience was terrible, and I was hesitant to write this review but I couldn’t let what happened go.
Elm and Good is a new restaurant in Deep Ellum located at the Pittman Hotel. The decor and ambiance of the place is clean and nice with good music in background playing. The cocktails and beer selections were good, fairly typical for this type of venue. I was surprised the shot and unremarkable wine list given that the restaurant bills itself as an "upscale American tavern with an ingredient driven menu"....There are references of menu items calling out location like 44 and Battle Creek Farms that distance E&G from others in the area. But Daou Cabernet and Chalk Hill Chardonnay, while good products, seem better suited at retail than an upscale American tavern. How about a couple of Texas labels? There are many highly rated vintages available now from Texas.
We enjoyed the burger and special Short Rib entrees. Both were cooked and presented properly. Portion size was good and we really like the fries that accompanied the burger. Our server, Louie, was very nice and as attentive as he could be as the restaurant seemed short staffed for a Friday night. I think he tried the best he could with having to manage a fairly large section of the dining room. We intend to go back at some point in the future to check out the weekend brunch menu.
Graham does it again! Definitely start with the hush puppies! We lucked out...it was black truffle soufflé week and it could not of been better!! Veggies are fresh and full of flavor, great wine list and excellent service. Can’t wait to go back!
The perfect mix of awesome interesting food with a modern take and great service. I consider them one of the top DFW restaurants.
Food was terrible and menu was awful --nothing was any good-- Total Rip off
The food was great and the service was okay.
Great food and service. Can’t wait to go back!
Champagne for our anniversary!
This place is amazing. Every piece is meticulously curated.
Fabulous restaurant and beautiful stylish decor. Tip top food as usual with Graham Dodds at the helm. Upscale elegant comfort food. Loved the special clam and halibut bisque. Mushroom rissoto and cauliflower rissoto favs.
Such a great spot for dinner! The cocktails are fantastic and everything on the menu is delicious. Our favorites were the Oysters, Cassoulet and the Pappardelle.
This is just a review for the food, we don’t drink. The food was okay, nothing we had really stood out. We got the focaccia, raclette, pork schnitzel, mushroom paella, and the cookie and creme brûlée. The service was great. It’s a beautiful restaurant. Homewood has a similar menu and is amazing, I would recommend going there.
What a find! Great food, service, and ambiance. Loved it!
We had a wonderful date night at Elm & Good! Everything that we ordered was very tasty, including the cocktails. Highly recommend the Beef Bavette as a main. Service was professional, friendly without being too casual. We will definitely go back!
Overall great experience. Great vibe, food was excellent, service was good. I would definitely go back.
The service was great. The food was alright. I love the ambiance and decor. Great find.
New Years Eve Prix Fixe Menu. Food was pretty good but it was not worth $150 a person. Happy to support a local business and chef.
Amazing experience and delicious food. Will definitely be going back!
Schnitzel is was excellent, very tender and the Pappardelle with Mozzarella Meatballs was very good! (menu said it had a pesto sauce but actually served with red sauce, as our server told us, so really nice), the pesto was served on the garlic bread.
Food was good, best for a casual evening. Room was cold and the bartender decided to modify my cocktail request without telling. Sent the cocktail back and asked for my requested order.
Brunch on a rainy December but the service and food was warm and enjoyable.
The hush puppies are awesome and the corn bread was amazing ...sliced and grilled, light and somewhat sweet, perfect to smother in butter. Overall enjoyable!
