Service lacks finesse. Timing issues.
Service was exceptional. The Sunday brunch includes several favorites and many interesting alternatives. Staff is always upbeat and they excel at anticipating needs. Juliah is outstanding along with others in the staff.
The food was fantastic.
The server was very sweet, but lacked the ability to describe the food. Needs serious training.
The decor was great. Overall great place. Looking forward to attending again.
The food was wonderful, as was the ambiance. Be sure to get there earlier than expected since parking is an issue.
Excellent way to start the afternoon. This was a wholesome breakfast at its best. Hopefully this Sunday event will be expanded for the upcoming holidays.
The taste of the food was good my only complaint was how my steak arrived. My steak was very cold like it has been sitting there for a while while my fries were very hot.
Disappointed today. The restaurant was unprepared for the business. My classic breakfast arrived in installments and was not piping hot when delivered. I had no utensils and the staff members were scattered around and not readily available.
Went for brunch and enjoyed it. Simple and good
Three adults were celebrating our granddaughter’s 15th birthday, her brother and two cousins. We were seated near the kitchen so we could see the action in the kitchen and Chef Graham. Our server was Lewis who did a great job trying to keep track of the young kids’ changing orders for their food!
We started with some appetizers - the East Texas hush puppies which were good and the special of the evening - an arancini which is a deep fried ball of risotto which was excellent.
For my main course, I had the blackened redfish and triple fires - sort of an upscale fish and chips!! Superb!
Two of the kids had the bavette steak and two had the chicken tenders on the kids menu.
It was a great celebration.
Excellent breakfast with equally excellent service.
We were three couples and intended eating outside on the patio but it was too windy. So instead we were seated just outside the kitchen where we had a good view of Chef Graham working his magic. I had the spare rib, hash browns and scrambled eggs which were excellent. My wife had "the perfect omelet" which she said was also great. Our server Nathaly was efficient, attentive but not intrusive. There was a good crowd there for Sunday brunch but the tables are well spaced and all staff and customers wear masks (except when consuming food). Chef Graham visited several tables to say hi to customers.
Food is top notch and affordable. Decor and ambience were very inviting. I had breakfast (pancakes and brisket hash) and apps (hush puppies and quail) SOO good. No complaints.
Not worth the price paid. Expensive , very limited menu and no proper veg and chicken options. No good taste and didnt feel like it’s farm to table.. spent $229 plus tip for no good reason.
Great new spot in Deep Ellum! Perfect for a date night or GNO. Will definitely be dining here again!
Really good food and ambience. Cocktails top notch
Had a nice evening. The hush puppies alone are worth the trip.
Immediate recognition from the staff really means a lot especially since they are only open limited hours.
Today’s brunch was outstanding as well as a great value. Everything was just exceptional. Special emphasis is given enough to advise guests that the tables are thoroughly sanitized after each use. This gives confidence they are doing everything possible during the pandemic.
I absolutely enjoyed this dining experience!
It was great sitting outside
The service was great and some of the plates were different but they were very accommodating to my dietary restrictions.
The food and service is beyond what I expected.
I got the ceviche and it was so fresh.
Food, drinks, music, decor, service...everything was executed well. Pricey but good value. Will be back.
After looking forward to visiting Elm and Good since it’s opening, I was pleased on all levels. Due to the pandemic and health considerations I opted for a late arrival.
The staff was accommodating on every single request. The attitude was upbeat and the service was excellent. The preserves alone were worth the trip. Afterwards at the urging of staff I took a self directed tour which the front office graciously approved.
This venue has a great potential once things return to normal. In the meantime they are doing their best to deal with the environment.
As expected it was great since being a past fan of Hibiscus food. Service was fantastic from greeting through all of service. Special tip of the hat to Julia as mixologist and server. Definite will be back for more enjoyment.
One thing to note is parking needs since it is Deep Ellum.
Everything from the perfect omelette to the biscuits were perfection.
We went for our 6 year anniversary and had a great experience! Food was tasty and drinks were great. I think the cocktails are either a few dollars overpriced for their size OR our bartender was a little stingy on filling the coupes up.
The hush puppies were great. Rabbit agnolotti was amazing but VERY heavy. We split it as a mid-course and it did very well like that. I couldn’t eat a whole serving if it had been my main meal. I ate the pork schnitzel which was good, great portion size. Could have used a sauce or squeeze of lemon but good. My husband got the short ribs and they were the STAR of the dinner! Def recommend! We would love to come back here!
Bartenders were amazing! Food was terrific. Great location.
In every aspyit was a waste of an evening and money
Pleasant evening, good food and service. I particularly recommend (again) the hushpuppies. Unfortunately, the kitchen was out of beignets but the time we ordered desert.
My wife and I took our daughter and three grandkids for brunch on Sunday. There were a few people dining on the patio but it was quite windy. We chose to eat inside. The tables were large and spread wide apart and all staff were masked. Customers were masked when not seated.
We started off with a sampling of Chef Graham's signature biscuits and "Mum's
preserves" and some jalapeño cornbread then I had the short ribs, hash browns and scrambled eggs. The ribs were very tender and the meat fell off the bone. The grandkids enjoyed pancakes.
There was a good vibe for a Sunday morning in Deep Ellum with several couples dining.
Fantastic good, good cocktails and great service. Great place for a date.
The decor and drinks were great. Overall, we didn't love our food, but feel there could be promise with some editing and seasoning!
Thursday night so was quiet. Great service and great food
Perhaps it is unfair as the restaurant has only been open for 3 weeks. Inside restaurant ambience is Currently, there is no valet service which makes parking difficult. Appetizers were excellent particularly the hush puppies and tomato tartar. The beet salad was found lacking. The fish entree was good, the burger was fair, and the wagyu strip was overly chewy. The Chilean wine we initially wanted could not be located or was not available, but the domestic Darioush Caravan was and it was delicious. Finally, our server at the outset was attentive and remained such until he handed us the bill without first inquiring if we wanted any coffee, dessert or after dinner drink.
Overall, I would say inconsistent.
Amazing food, great ambiance, and very good social distancing! A great new restaurant.
First off our server, Adrian, was excellent. His recommendation for wine was right on! It went downhill from there. Food came out very slowly even though the restaurant was not very full. We brought some friends with us and they had to return the peach cobbler because it was all crust.
We expected more from Chef Dodds since we always loved the food and service at Hibiscus and were looking forward to his new venue.
We will give it one more try and hopefully it will improve.
Social distancing was a must. Food was exquisite!
My wife and I ate on the patio at Elm and Good this part weekend. Apart from a bit of street noise and an overwhelmed waiter (who had too many tables to cover, particularly given the extra distance to the kitchen), we enjoyed our evening. The hush puppies and beignets were the highlights of the evening - both were delicious and different than other offerings in Dallas. The Lions Mane was a tasty entree although a bit on the smallish side. I would skip the Kale Caesar. Wine/drinks were good. Our waiter tried hard, very hard, but just had too many tables to cover. As a result, the evening was a bit "slow". Nevertheless, we would go back.
Took our 3 grandkids to eat there. They loved it. They had the Rotisserie chicken, the 14 ounce steak and the salmon. They loved the flavored ice creams.
We had high hopes for our experience at Elm & Good, but unfortunately it was just so-so. The building & decor are beautiful, however the service was bland at best. Our server did not seem enthusiastic at all to welcome us to the relatively new restaurant. And the second glass of wine I ordered neither arrived, nor was mentioned. We were seated along the front windows where several 2-tops are spaced about 3-4 feet apart (closer than I’d prefer COVID aside). The cheese board was a very nice starter & the cocktail list extensive. My snapper was mediocre & my boyfriend didn’t really comment on his steak. The beignets (& added side of ice cream) for dessert were quite good. All in all, perhaps a place to meet for drinks & a cheesboard for happy hour, but not somewhere that will be in our regular rotation for dinner.
Went for a friend's birthday because we had heard wonderful things about the food and it did not disappoint. Three people got the highly recommended hamburgers because they were that highly recommended, and one had the snapper. We shared bread pudding for dessert. Everything was amazing! Service was great, maybe a little too attentive, but better than inattentive, but it was a week night and a little slow. Every single staff member was friendly and welcoming. Overall great experience- we will definitely be back.
