first visit to Elliott's steakhouse. it is a gorgeous restaurant with comfortable booths but insufficient lighting. it seems to be designed for romantic evenings but most of the tables were full of middle-aged men, somewhat sloppily dressed and with poor table manners. however, the service was outstanding. now to the food and drink. they do have an extensive wine list both by the glass and by the bottle and my kir royale cocktail was delicious and reasonably priced. our appetizer was a lovely and large bowl with mussels in a terrific sauce. next a rather unusual lobster bisque. it had several large pieces of lobster, a different spice pallet, and a lovely toasted element with a soothing cream. finally - the filets. all were cooked to the requested doneness and accompanied by crunchy pickled onions and served (at an additional cost) with a dynamite brandy peppercorn source. the dessert was a huge chocolate bar accompanied by a brownie, gelato, and caramel popcorn. prices were high but portions were vary generous. a single dessert was sufficient for all 3 of us.

I wanted to give Elliott’s five stars, but there were just too many things that undermined our experience. The good…the restaurant is aesthetically beautiful, not too big, with an amazing bar, exposed brick and well placed tables and banquettes. Our server was great. We were taken care of right away, got our drinks and ordered dinner with good timing. The bad…the piano player started and it was not pleasant.The sound quality was very bad (or maybe she was just not very good), and we couldn’t understand any of the lyrics. It sounded like bad elevator music turned up way too loud and very distracting.We could no longer hear ourselves or have a conversation with the other two people dining with us.They really need to revisit having live entertainment in a small-ish venue. The food…for the most part, the food was good. My husband’s king salmon was not an overly generous portion, certainly not what you typically get at a steak house. I ordered the large filet cooked medium plus. It came out way over cooked…it was past even being well done, dry and not a bit of pink even in the center. I sent it back, and they made a new one that was cooked perfectly, but I didn’t get it until after everyone else had finished eating.Our server was very apologetic, but the manager actually did not seem that concerned and did not offer to comp the steak which, again, is not typical for a high end steak house. Our server did offer one free dessert for the table, which was thoughtful on her part. The other two meals came out ok.The haricot vert were outstanding. Overall, the evening was not pleasant. We understand that mistakes happen in the kitchen, and we don’t necessarily expect to be comped, but the lack of concern from management was underwhelming. The worst part though was the music. It was far too loud and took away from the ambiance. We would have a hard time recommending it to anyone and probably will not be back. It just didn’t compare favorably to other steak houses we go to.

Fabulous dinner and service as usual! Our favorite restaurant. We’re so happy we no longer have to drive to Scottsdale for amazing food and ambiance anymore.

Always a pleasure to dine at Elliot's. The service is outstanding, always there for what is wanted/needed without being annoying. The food is top notch! Drinks are fantastic. I hate giving them 5 stars for fear of giving our secret place away, but it's awesome
