My Mom and I have enjoyed coming here prior to going to the Symphony but the service and food have been declining. Today, the server was nice but then she overcharged me by $14. I didn’t realize until later because there were so many other charge corrections on the bill. She had initially overcharged by another $8. I got the Huevos Rancheros for $22 and it was 2 eggs, half an avocado, and a handful of black beans. The majority of the plate consisted of tortilla chips. It was definitely not worth the money. My mom got the 3 cheese panini and the squash soup but for the money at $26, we are not sure if was worth it. The jazz trio is really nice but we are likely going to have to find another place to go before the Symphony in the future which is disappointing since it is so convenient.

The food was excellent. Our server was training and was extremely nice and overall did a good job. Food was delivered to our table that was not ours. It belonged to another table. I don't think it was her fault. I do think her trainer could have overseen her work more closely.

Very underwhelmed with this place. The food wasn’t great and was pretty expensive. The drinks were good, but the spicy Bloody Mary tasted the same as the regular version. The service was ok. I appreciate an unobtrusive wait staff but wait times were pretty long and there were only a couple of other tables occupied. We were a group of four and half of us got our food ten minutes before the others. I wanted to love this place and had heard great things but for the price and overall experience I won’t be back.

Service was excellent but food was average at best. Poor presentation. Chicken Caesar salad was overdressed, croutons were cold, and chicken tasted a bit off. Skirt steak was tough and I was not given a steak knife. Flatbread was good, Hall wine was good. Way too expensive for mediocre food.

This was my wife and I, first time in Dallas. After making the reservation for Ellie’s and explaining this, they made sure we had a great experience. My wife had the Mahi- mahi with pesto, and I had the skirt steak, which was cooked perfectly (medium). The flavors of both meals were hit me and my wife’s palate’s equally with deliciousness. Top that off with phenomenal service from Scott (waiter), it was a great night. I look forward to visiting again, and possibly moving to the area soon. 👍🏽

Fairly nice all around, but we asked in our reservations for a nice table for our date/ birthday and were given the worst table with many others available, some reserved but no one ever showed up for them. Wait staff was great, beer is bottle only and was warm plus they were out of the first three my wife wanted, which is sad since they are only bottles, not like the kegs are empty or the tap is broken. The hummus was too sweet, the crackers nasty but it all looked good. The salmon was very good but under seasoned seasoned. The Caesar salad was good but even Chic-fil-a presents theirs better. Overall it is a nice place to go before a DSO show but doesn't live up to the price.

We went to listen to the live music during our dinner on a Friday night . The pianist played about 3 songs and then took such a long break and visited with her friends that we finished dinner before she came back to playing . That was a huge disappointment . Our server Andrea was great. The risotto was so so. Nothing to write home about. We will be back for a Sunday brunch but probably not on a Friday.

It's a beautiful place to eat, and the area of town is quite unique. So, I love the location and decor. The menu is limited but good. Unfortunately, the one thing that we went there for was unavailable, and it's not like we went there at the end of the night, for them to run out of it! I took my daughter and her husband there for her birthday, and she enjoyed it. They surprised her (and me) with a cake and candle, on the house :) It was a bit pricey, maybe because it's at a hotel?

Lovely restaurant. Nice price fix theater menu that provided more options than limited menu. Experience began positively as we arrived an hour and a half before theater performance began, but service was extremely slow and we barely made our show across the street. Waiter was aware of our show time but disappeared frequently. We had to get our own silverware off another table?

The atmosphere is definitely "Lady's Brunch" approved. Food pretty good with good portion sizes. Mimosas carafe was disappointing due to price versus size, other than that overall good times were had.

The restaurant in and of itself was great our server Adam was attentive and polite. The only drawback is that two of us had to park in the parking garage, and they got lost down there because they were no real signs showing them how to get to the restaurant other than that we had a great time.

First, we were seated in the lounge area for a dinner reservation, instead of being seated in the dining area of the restaurant with standard table/chairs. Second, the service from our main waiter was slow and inattentive. We had slightly better service from the other waiter who filled out water and brought us bread (although the bread and butter were brought out after we had almost finished our main course, instead of before the meal started. My dinner companion's main course order was served incorrectly (i.e. she ordered salmon but was served chicken instead). When told to our waiter he eventually brought out the salmon after we had both finished our main course. Also, the salmon had no flavor at all. The chicken and risotto that I had was not very flavorful either. The best tastiest part of the whole night was the lemon sorbet we had for dessert, although it came with 3 huge dips of sorbet (which they didn't tell us how much it was) and we each ordered a serving for dessert, so between 2 people we had 6 large scoops of sorbet! I mean, the waiter COULD HAVE advised that one serving came with 3 huge dips and that it was a shareable amount, but no. Finally, there was live piano music (which I loved) and singing (by a lady who had a great voice) although the acoustics in this restaurant are not good for a female voice because her higher-pitched voice shrilly reverberated throughout the large marble-walled room which did not sound good. The piano music was good because she played it more softly, but her voice was not as pleasant sounding as it could have been because the acoustics are not good in this restaurant for her female voice.

Enjoyed brunch on a Saturday morning in this very pretty space. Not a lot of buzz at 9:30 AM but we wouldn’t have expected that. Our server was very very nice and we would go back.

Got there at 5 and it was pretty empty with only a couple tables seated around us. Cocktails were not consistent despite our table of 4 ordering the same round of drinks twice. Apps were cold and for a plate of fries it seems like a pretty rookie mistake. Had to flag down our waitress to get any orders in…. Overall pretty unimpressed and probably wouldn’t go back or recommend. Cool lights though

The food was amazing. Had three different meals here as I was staying in the hotel and all three meals were delicious. The only downside for me was the service. I sat at the bar twice and it always felt like they needed more staff at the bar. I basically had to try to get their attention as no one even looked at me. For brunch we were able to sit at a table and our server was fantastic.

Food was overcooked and very late. Our server, while pleasant was overwhelmed. Very disappointing overall considering the level of the hotel. We won’t be back until they get some basic things fixed.

This is my second time at Ellie’s. Both times I’ve had less than mediocre food and super slow and unfriendly service. The ambiance is great but not sure yet if I’ll give it a 3rd try.

We enjoyed the airy room and art, delicious food, excellent service, and singer-guitarist duo. The music was soft and relaxed, allowing us to converse over dinner, which was the purpose of this evening with friends.

The food, service, ambiance and decor were all impeccable! We enjoyed every aspect of this experience then had a photo shoot on the fabulous staircase and the lobby! At some point I dropped my new designer sunglasses and they called me from my reservation to let me know before I even missed them!!! I’ll definitely return and highly recommend!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Gorgeous venue, inattentive service, disappointing food. The Hall’s Ellie’s cab was outstanding. Having cute little covered butter dishes was a nice touch and the rolls were good. But the meal left a lot to be desired. The corn and coconut soup arrived tepid and bland…I had to add salt just to eat it. The hearts of palm salad was supposed to have palm dressing but it tasted like sugar-water dressing and I sent it back. The Caesar salad was better but still very little flavor. The salmon - bland and arrived just barely warm. Another person at our table ordered the burrata salad and said it was okay and the added shrimp were delicious. The duck entree was tasty but was served on a bed of too spicy corn…not indicated on the menu. The branzino was good. For dessert the strawberries were fine and the flourless chocolate cake tasted good and was served with a delicious sauce but the cake itself was very dry. This restaurant was clearly designed to be a lovely dining experience. And the art work - especially the mosaic on the patio - is exquisite. The menu options themselves are very enticing. But they fail in their execution. We won’t be going back.
