I love the salads at Ella’s. This is a great place, relatively obscure among the Penn Quarter name brand restaurants. I will return.
Great experience! Great service! Excellent food! Highly recommended!!
Ella’s is a great little place for pizza. Our server was very friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. The food was very good and arrived timely.
The food was ok. It was overpriced for pizza and pasta. Service was alright.
Great food! Great service! Glad we had a reservation, it got very busy.
Lilly was fantastic. One had the penne pasta—nothing left. One had the steak sandwich—same. I had the Mediterranean salad with Branzino—excellent.
Love the new decor and the great and welcoming staff!
Great service, perfect location, amazing food, and a very cool vibe made for a fabulous pre-concert dinner. The pizza is true Italian wood-fired style. The calamari appetizer was awesome. If you’re going to an event at Capital One Arena, dine at Ella’s beforehand.
Great restaurant to bring young kids to. The bourbon smash was so delicious and our pizza and chopped salad were great! Our kids loved their spaghetti and it was nice they offer carrots and ranch as a starter for the kids. We’ll be back the next time we go to dc!
Ella's is a true gem. Food is always great and the good service is a breath of fresh air since so many other restaurant staff are shallow and only worried about the tip! Ella's servers aboth the old ones and newer hires are all so pleasant.
Great staff great food...thanks for a great lunch with the team
This is my favorite weekly dining spot. The service is always impeccable, and I always leave more than pleased.
The Margherita and Bosco pizzas were awesome. Alex, our waitress, did an outstanding job. Highly recommended.
Pizzas were good but ordered wings and they were not crispy as advertised but a bit undercooked. Service was acceptable but had trouble getting her attention when we needed things, including the bill
The oven pizza and ceasar salad was delicious. The service was outstanding. The staff, especially the gentleman host, went above and beyond helping us with some personal issues that arouse during our dinner. Thank you for everything.
Food was delicious but the service was horrible. It’s always been very busy when I’ve eaten here, but in prior times the service hadn’t been impacted. It was almost like our waitress forgot about us.
Very attentive service. Mussels in tomato sauce was excellent. Wood fired pizza was fantastic. The crust was thin and flaky! Would love to go back next time in DC.
Perfect quick and fun dinner before a show at the Capital One Center! We were seated immediately upon arriving at our reservation time, which made us very happy! Food was quick and good. This was our second pre-show dinner at Ella's and we will probably make it a habit. Definitely recommend.
I've eaten at Ella's Pizza several times and have never been disappointed. I'm a fan of wood-fired pizza and Ella's is up there in my list of favorites. I was recently there with a group of six and we had a great time - fantastic service (Jess), food that everyone enjoyed, and a good beer selection. I'll certainly be back.
Dining with family prior to a concert at the Capital One arena. A child in our group was too chilly inside so we requested an outside table and our request was honored right away. The service was prompt, the food was delicious, and it was all reasonably priced. Ella’s is consistently good and their menu is varied enough to satisfy a wide range of diet preferences. Nice, comfortable place!
Food was great. Chicken tenders were the best we have ever had!
Pizza and risotto were great !! Kid friendly and a good place to stop if you’re in by the museums
The food was great and the service was too. I am especially thankful for the manager calling to tell me I left my credit card. He then went above and beyond and stayed 30 minutes after closing to make sure I could get it. I’ll definitely go back!!
Our first night in DC and we’ve been up since 2 am, so we had a very hard deciding on whether to eat in The Wharf District, where we are staying or venture out. So so very glad we ventured out!!! Decided on Ella’s based on menu and the name, my Mom’s name was Ella. Clean, quaint and staff very friendly. My husband had looked all day for a Michelob Ultra, 1st positive, they have in a bottle. We ordered Chicken Tenders for an appetizer. They were very good. The sauce they serve is a type of Gorgonzola I believe, which is really good. We ordered the Polpotini pizza and added pepperoni. This is by far the best wood fired pizza we’ve had! The meatballs are very flavorful and the crust is perfection. If we visit again there is no doubt in my mind, we will definitely go back to Ella’s. When we go home we will wish we had an Ella’s!
Great service and good food. The pizza was delicious.
Had a great experience - food was delicious and service was wonderful.
Will go again! Great crust.
Pizza was great ! Pretty loud !
Good thin crust pizza. Avoid the sangria at all costs. Waitstaff very accommodating.
I would eat here every day if I could. I’m not kidding. I promise you can not have a bad meal at this place. Ever! Have u gone a go to restaurants because you see that they have all these really great reviews and then you get there and you’re disappointed and you’re like what the heck is wrong with all these people raving about it well I can promise you that is not the case with this place this place is exceptional
Best pizzas in town! Will go again when back in Washington! 😄
It is an OK pizza, but definitely not the best in Washington. The menu covers a lot obases and the service is very good.
Great Pizza and service, would definitely go again. Nice bustling atmosphere.
Ella’s never disappoints!
Excellent wood fired pizza. This crust but able to stand up to any toppings you order. Topping choices are abundant. Found this place on out last trip to DC, returned this trip. Staff was efficient and friendly. Will definitely go back again when I’m in DC.
Amazing crust, some of the best pizza I've had in some time. Friendly staff as well. Definitely go if you are a choosy pizza eater....great place.
I made a reservation for an outside table but we got there and several busses were parked and running along the curb right next to the tables. We chose to set at the bar and watch the Cub game. It was a very good experience overall! Great service even though the bartender wasn’t particularly friendly or chatty. I had a salad and we split a pepperoni pizza which were both awesome! Small place but clean and friendly. Highly recommend for a casual Italian eatery. I’d definitely go back!
This was the best pizza we found in Downtown DC. Friendly service. Good portion sizes.
Despite not being very crowded, service was poor on Saturday, May 18. It took 20 minutes to get a beer and a bottle of wine after waiting for almost 15 to take drink orders. not acceptable. always felt like we were searching for our waitress. also, at this low-key pizza place which closes by 11:00 (lights were turned on full brightness and then flickered on at us at 10:45 PM to get us to leave), you need to have red wine bottle choices less than $40 a bottle (they don't). The Chianti was great, but with decently priced pizzas, our 2 $40 bottles and other expensive drinks took us to the same prices as 7 people's food. Finally, really - a mandatory 20% tip on 7 people for pizza? The service Saturday evening was not good enough for 15%, much less 20%. The pizzas were soggy in the middle but had a very nice crust. The mozzarella in corazza was nothing special but the burrata was good.
Delicious pizza, crust perfect, jalapeno margarita excellent
Overall the food was not that great. The pizza was super greasy. The service was subpar. If I come back I would more than likely not dine here
