The restaurant is lovely and the noise level was not a problem. It's definitely a place where you can have dinner and conversation. We had 4 pasta dishes and 2 entrees sans pasta. The pasta and sauces were all very good. But there were meatballs on two dishes and they were dry, almost mealy in texture and flavorless. One diner sent them back and substituted chicken that was breaded. Unfortunately, that too was dry. The restaurant did not charge for the protein. Two diners had the Pork chop dish. The sauce was good but the pork chops were over cooked. Both diners loved the accompanying potato croquettes. We tried two salads that were delicious. The cocktails were also tasty. We tried a cake with gelato, it was amazing. In fact, someone ordered another piece to go. Overall, at this price point, the experience was not one any of us would not duplicate.

Honestly we were pretty disappointed, especially considering the price point. My wife ordered a pasta dish, which had great flavor, but the pasta was waaaay undercooked (hard in the center). I ordered the risotto, which had decent flavor, but essentially just mush. Had I not added shrimp to the risotto, it would not have been palatable. We ordered the shrimp scampi appetizer which wasn’t great either. The toast was burnt but soggy on the bottom side. The whole experience was definitely a letdown. Our server was extremely friendly, and did an outstanding job.

The entire experience was incredible. The ambiance, the food, the staff were all 5 star. We had the opportunity to sit at the counter overlooking the kitchen. Chef Charles was preparing food right in front of us and engaged in conversation. Our server Matt was extremely helpful and fun. He made great recommendations for us: shrimp scampi and eggplant parm as starters and the black truffle risotto for our main. Food was prepared amazingly well. We greatly recommend this restaurant!!

Very nice we enjoyed the food very delicious we got the ny strip and goat cheese, procuitto and fig pizza. The blood orange margaritas A+ as well as the espresso martini both be hitting.

Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience at Ella’s. It’s too bad, because we live downtown and are always looking for reliable restaurants. One of our entrees was pretty good- the clams, the other was just ok. The bread that you had to pay for was tasteless and the caesar salad was served in an unappetizing brown wood cafeteria—like bowl. It was also made with iceberg lettuce and tasteless croutons with too much dressing. The drinks were great- we had classic Negronis. I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc which was wonderful. Our server was nice, but not very experienced and a little resistant with a few easy requests like extra bowls, Parmesan, and my request to look at the wine list. I wish it had been better, I really wanted it to be! It has a lot of potential; it’s a nice space in a good location with a good menu. Just needs some tweaks.
