Great service and good food
A great find in the Upoer West Side. The food was excellent.
We ordered three Tapas. Guacamole, sliders and meatballs. The first two were just Ok and the meatballs were cold and very bland. Drinks were small.
Overall it was very meh.
Other reviews seem to suggest service is inconsistent and our experience there was on the poor end. We came in as a group of 7 for lunch and it was just alarmingly slow for what seemed like basic orders with not so many tables dining at the same time. Table after table that was seated after our group were served their meals before us and it just felt like we didn’t matter (probably because they charged us a set gratuity). Food’s ok.
Too loud inside. Cannot have a conversation
One of my favorite places in the upper west side. Octopus and steak skewers were especially good,
Comfortable ambiance, conveniently located close to subway, nice sidewalk patio seating, many options on the menu. Perfect for brunch.
Great food, excellent service. Difficult to have a conversation: noise level high.
Great food, fine service, but WHY TOO LOUD!!!!!!!!
Delicious and great brunch menu. A little tricky if you’re lactose intolerant but a great spot overall. A little loud though and for Sunday brunch the music had kind of a saturday night club/party vibe that I wasn’t quite feeling. Staff are gracious and attentive.
While location matters, if the food and service aren't good, it doesn't matter where the restaurant is. Ella Kitchen & Bar doesn't have a 10 page menu, but it does have excellent choices from tapas to salads to creative burgers to fine main courses. The service is attentive without it being intrusive. And the prices are quite reasonable for the delicious and well portioned dishes.
This place is AMAZING. A total jewel. Everything in the menu is absolutely tasty, original and fantastic. Great spot
It was poor to average . Terribly noisy . Veggie-burger not good at all .
Food was fine but service was disappointing. Our server was extremely slow and there were a couple of tapas plates that we ordered that either came out VERY late or didn't come out at all. Her service certainly did not warrant the 20% autogratuity the restaurant added. It was a special occasion and the experience at the restaurant left more of a sour taste in our mouths, as opposed to a night of great memories.
We went with a group of 6 people for Sunday brunch. Most of the food was okey but we had to return a salmon burger because we had requested rear and it was overcooked. The sangria was very good though. It took a long time to get our food after we ordered.
Good location for dinner before a show at the Beacon. Atmosphere was fun and casual. Tapas were good, but not outstanding. Mushroom croquettes were the best. Wine list was adequate. Staff was attentive and friendly.
Our favorite neighborhood place. From the chicken soup to the paella, every flavor takes me home. I can combine the tapas to make a meal. The avocado and octopus dishes are my husband's favorite choices. We've never left disappointed in the meal, service or drinks.
Pleasantly surprised. I had salmon with a quinoa stir fry. Salmon was excellent and the stir fry blew me away. It was delicious but I needed lemons and it took a long time for them to bring me lemons.
Impressive place. Sangria is excellent as well as the tapas menu. We had the Brussels sprouts, sausage, spicy shrimp, and Kobe sliders to share and they were all 💥😋🍴
Anddd we had the bread pudding which was delicious... did I mention the sangria? Def get the sangria.
The high noise level made conversation difficult, and left me with a headache. I would only return during off hours. A shame because the food and service were good.
Wonderful food and service ! And some great vegan options ! A great dinner before a show at the Beacon theater .. highly recommend !
Food was delicious, if not a little expensive. Service was slower than would be expected for dinner and not too crowded.
The food was amazing and the service was even better! Highly recommend!
Came to Ella Kitchen and Bar for dinner yesterday with 3 of my friends. While the service was pretty quick and the wait staff ready to help, there were a few mishaps throughout the night.
The ambiance and feel of the restaurant is elegant and fits right into the area without having over-the-top prices.
For tapas, which the restaurant is known for, we ordered Shrimp Ajillo and Empanadas Saltenas. Both were incredibly tasty! We had ~10 shrimp which tasted fantastic with the toasted bread. The empanadas were very tasty as well. However, my friend ate one of the two empanadas and ended pulling a hair out from it. It expectedly ruined her appetite!
The rest of the night went fairly well. I had the Drunken Mushroom Burger which was overall very good. It didn't have much flavor and could have been seasoned better. The fries and small salad that came with it were delicious.
My friends ordered the Seafood Paella and the Salmon Asada. The paella was tasty but the mussels tasted like they weren't cleaned very thoroughly. Salmon was cooked well.
While the overall experience was okay, I don't know if I'd be back very soon.
Fantastic little spot near Lincoln Center. Great food, great service!
I love this place though I don’t come as often as I’d like for brunch because it tends to be too loud.
Always good food service was fair. Didn’t pay attention to our order. Brought wrong items
Really good selection of tapas with nice staff and friendly atmosphere
Love the food here. It's consistent and the place is also a neighborhood gem. Staff is consistently attentive yet not a pain; they're pleasant, know what's good and the food is always fresh. The stuff they make well is awesome. (Try the mushrooms)!
I love coming back here time after time and will return again.
Always love this place it’s my go to but man is it loud in there. An investment in some sound baffles would do wonders to keep the sound from bouncing around.
Excellent food and service. Very friendly staff
The service wa
Always enjoying my experience here. Met a friend for tapas and drinks at the bar ... perfect!
The food was okay. It didn’t blow us away, but it was fun to have a selection of different tapas for our table to share. I wouldn’t say this place is a great place for kids, so maybe look elsewhere if you are looking for a family setting.
The food was delicious and there was very friendly and attentive service.
Mediocre food friendly staff and good service
Though I made a reservation weeks before, I still waited 15 minutes with a available table sitting empty for the same amount of time. It seemed I had to convince the host to seat me at that empty table. Very strange and unnecessary frustration.
Very good food and friendly service. The tables are literally on top of each other and it is impossible to carry on a conversation with the noise level. If they could address the noise level issues, I would go back, but would not go and be crammed in like that again at a table for 2. The table for 4 is a bit more civilized. Otherwise it is a great place and several of the dishes were delicious! Friendly servers.
where do i start ? the appetizers were soooo bomb we ordered the tomato toast (the calamari wasn’t special but the sauce it comes with is superb)
i had the skirt steak it was cooked to perfection and the flourless cake was everything you think it would be haha loved it here !
Great place with awesome food. We arrived a little late for our reservation but they still seated us even though it was packed. Highly recommend.
