Ella & Ollie's
This is my first trip to Edisto Beach, and Ive been here 5 days. Until tonight’s experience, I had not found anything here that I’d consider “fine dining”. But I would consider E&O to be in that category. It was not quite up to what I’d expect from cities like Atlanta, but it was very good for this remote location!
BBQ shrimp appetizer and the Short Ribs were delicious. Kid friendly and fair pricing. Best meal we had in Edisto this week. We will plan to visit again. Service was excellent. Server even chased us out to car because we accidentally left our credit card in the tab. Highly recommend!
Great food and service was excellent! Best meal we have had at the beach.
This was our first time at E&O. Food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Service was outstanding. We will be back!
Food was amazing as always. Our favorite Edisto Beach restaurant.
Good food! The dining room was a little loud but had a good atmosphere
From appetizers to dessert, food was outstanding. Noise level was a distraction. One of the better dining facilities that we have enjoyed around the world.
Absolutely the Best restaurant on Edisto!! Fantastic Service & Delicious Gourmet Creations! Can't wait to go back!
Great experience as always!
The food and the service was excellent. The server was very professional and ensured that all of our needs were met. She made good suggestions on the food choices and was very familiar with the entire menu. Overall it was an excellent esperience.
Wonderful dining atmosphere for a birthday dinner with the family. Great food, fresh seafood, appropriately cooked, and excellent service.
Staff was very observant of Covid protocol.
Food was great and wine selection was sufficient.
Outstanding food, some of the best seafood I've ever had! Relatively expensive, but worth every penny. Great service, friendly and professional, we never waited long for anything! Overall, would highly recommend and will definitely be returning again!
We were happy to be socially distanced from other diners. We had a great view of the backyard edge of golf course and the deer that walked through at sunset. James our waiter was very nice and patient with us. Food was excellent.
Wonderful service, delicious food, well worth every penny! Scallops on special were the best I have ever had. Shrimp scampi pizza and lobster risotto were also delectable.
Nice to be back in a restaurant, especially this family favorite!
Great experience even with the social distancing. We have 2 tables totaling 11. Kids and adults all had good food.
The grouper with succotash was amazing! The fried whole okra was also a favorite of all.
The food was great and the service was prompt. The server was pleasant and very attentive. Food arrived in a timely manner. No complaints
Have been to Ella & Ollie’s three times and each time is wonderful. Great food, cooked to perfection and great drinks!
We have dined often at Ella and Ollie’s and rarely had a disappointing meal. This was one of those rare times. We opted for the prime rib special for two. It came with smoked prime rib, “loaded” baked potatoes and asparagus. Initially, it was brought to us as a huge chunk of meat with two baked potatoes on top. Cheese, chives and sour cream were brought separately. We immediately asked it be taken back to the kitchen to be cut into reasonable sizes. That took awhile. By the time it was brought back everything was cold so the cheese didn’t melt on the potatoes. The meat was tasty but very tough. I will go back to the shrimp cakes next time.
Incredibly good food! Will definitely return! A little on the pricey side.
Would give this place more stars but they were not willing to swap out sides. My friend wanted the tuna with the sides from the scallops but they wouldn’t budge. I mean how hard is it to do that - maybe I’m missing something!
Absolutely Terrible experience! My party of four couldn’t get waited on. We checked with the maitre d three times in attempt to get a waiter. After third attempt, he got us a round of cocktails on the house and an apologetic waiter who took our dinner order. One hour and twenty eight minutes later we walked out.
Fabulous food and awesome environment! We will definitely be back!!
We visited this restaurant because the place we were staying recommended visiting. We were both very disappointed. The food was average at best and the service was even worse. We asked about a wine on the winelist. They had Stag's Leap listed on the menu. Since there are several Stag's Leap Cabernets, we asked if it the Fay or Artemis. The waitress had no idea. We asked to see the bottle. The wine was actually Stags' Leap. If you drink Napa wines you will know there is a big difference in the two wineries. Since this was not the wine we liked we each ordered a glass of wine. My husband ordered the Cabernet and I ordered the Shiraz. The wines we were served were exactly the same, the Shiraz. My husband ordered the local shrimp, it was extremely overcooked and rubbery. We were very disappointed by the entire evening. FYI, they will ask you if you would like bread for the table, please be aware this will show up as an additional charge on your bill.
Their swordfish special was excellent. Went twice this week.
From the Host, Service, to the Food. All was Fantastic.
As always, our meal at Ella and Ollie's was wonderful! We make it a point to have dinner at least once every time we spend time in Edisto
All 4 dinners were delicious. Service was wonderful.
Paula waited on us. She was fabulous. Food was outstanding as always. They do a great job!
As always, a wonderful dining experience! A little busier than normal for Valentine’s Day, but the servers were accommodating and the food was worth the wait!
Exceptional dining experience. Never disappointed. First-class operation.
Mediocre food that is overpriced. Surely Wyndham is subsidizing this place because there must be no incentive to make it better. I do acknowledge the challenges that must exist trying to create a good dining experience so far off the beaten path (which is part of the charm of Edisto). Wait staff did ok job with what they had to work with.
The taco cafe associated with the restaurant serves lunch and is a much better experience.
Great food and service, as usual. We always enjoy dining here.
The food was incredible and very reasonably priced. The service was outstanding. We will definitely go back to Ella and Ollie’s.
The food was just ok at best. Nothing special for the money. The service and folks were very nice. But as the food you would be better off finding another place.
Fab as usual! Gotta love it.
Food was excellent but felt like they were understaffed. We were seated in an alcove with another party of six at relatively small tables that resulted in being cramped and hard to communicate over the other table. If they had seated us elsewhere it would have been a great meal all around. Will certainly return as the food was excellent and James was knowledgeable, courteous, but spread thin.
New Year’s Eve dining. Needed more servers for the number of tables. Server, Anna, was attentive and excellent. In fact, she is why this restaurant did not receive a lower rating. Food was, at best, over-rated, and not worth a return visit. The polenta was a paste, the she crab soup had a gritty texture, and a bad, sour taste. In fact, I wonder if the dairy for it had turned?
Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Good food A bit pricey but worth it for special occasions. Good service. Food presentation is excellent Will eat there at least once while we are in the area.
