Situated in the historical Church Street District you’ll find Orlando’s latest hotspot, Elize.
We host the most exciting culinary experience with a European twist.
We can’t wait to welcome you to our restaurant! Enjoy lunch, dinner, or just pop in for a drink, or two! In the near future we’ll also be serving breakfast, Sunday brunch and opening our in-house bakery by Elize, where you can enjoy our homemade treats with the best coffee Orlando has to offer.
Owner Michelle has designed a space with the same hospitality her mother, Elize, instilled in her childhood home. She has brought in Executive Chef Leon Mazairac to create exciting and surprising dishes by blending Dutch and American cuisine in ways never seen before. With a frequently updated menu, a Chefs Table and even a soon to be opened fine dining inspired breakfast cafe, it’s our goal to keep you coming back for more.
The squid carbonara was spectacular, as was the scallop. Food was slow coming out of the kitchen, but our server kept us informed.
The food was delicious and our server was very nice and accommodating but the service was incredibly slow. It took forever to get our drinks and they would all come at different times. When we finally were able to put our food order in it was extremely slow to
Come out and again some people got their food way before others. The main course was unbelievably long to come out. Ice everything was served it was delicious and they did say it was like a “soft opening” but the restaurant was not very busy at all so seemed strange that it all took so long. Hopefully they’ll get this issue cleared up and it would have been a much better experience with better service or attention. Surprisingly the either manager or owner walked past our table several times with out paying any attention to us-empty plates and glasses sat there for a long time which was unfortunate.
Highly recommend Elize! Beautiful presentation of each dish. Fresh and delicious. Just the right portions and price. Personal experience with owner and chief was delightful.
Great service and the food was amazing and artfully crafted!
Orlando has some terrific restaurants, but I’ve always been missing a place for fine dining; exciting food beautifully presented. Well, today I found it at Eize! They have a new, highly skilled Chef from Europe who just does magic with food. First he came to our table and explained his style and menu. Dishes are in two sizes, that way you can chose to try different dishes or for a more regular appetizer / entree scenario. It was honestly fantastic and Elize is going to be our new go to restaurant in town!
AMAZING food never thought I would love a chicken dish as much. Chef a wonder with vegetables. Even made a special vegan dish to accommodate our dining partners
Menu was simple and very very tasty. Service was great, ambiance and decor all good.
Food was too salty served with no bread, noise level unbearable. Service was the only good thing not enough for me to come back
The food quality was good and delivered as expected. The staff was very friendly and tentative. The cocktails were tasty.
I can’t quite place it, but the atmosphere was missing that little something the makes you want to return. It just doesn’t have a “wow” factor.
Limited menu choices; nice open space for dining; good bar area; heavily sauced pasta selection; great ability to have half portions on salads and entrees.
Nice time at the restaurant for the 4 of us. Food was very good and we all decided we would go back. However, some things were not top of the line: ordered a Gruner Veltliner which came to us way too cold. Had to be around 37°which is way over the top too cold. White wine generally should be around 55°to display their best in terms of aroma and taste. Also ordered clams which were very good, but they came out with crusty crostinis instead of a nice soft bread. Part of the value of a very good dish of clams in the garlic sauce is the ability to soak up the sauce in the bread. Can't do that with crusty crostinis. Otherwise, a good dining experience for us.
We went early and it was family dinner. Food was spectacular
Loved the food! Why are there not more people in the restaurant.
Was surprised to find Rusty Spoon had changed hands to this new owner, Elize. Atmosphere not as warm and welcoming and the food was just okay. Won’t be quick to return.
They have not been open long but the meal was enjoyable and the service was very good. We asked for coffee but the coffee bar had not been opened yet but the server was able to secure a French press and got the kitchen staff to heat some water. I know this may not seem like much but how many servers would have been sorry no coffee... thanks Brittany the coffee was nice with the desserts!
Listen, The Rusty Spoon was a lovely, good quality, nice restaurant you could count on for great food and ambiance. It is totally ruined with “Elize”. It feel like you are in a cafeteria. Or a Starbucks cafe. Might be ok for a lunch, but no longer a nice, cozy dinner restaurant. Super uncomfortable. I will not be back
I know we should not do it but in comparison to the Rusty Spoon the taste of the food is average at best. My burger was very dry and I think the value for the money is not there. Sorry to say that
Hello there, we're very sorry to hear your experience was unsatisfactory. We've relayed this back to our kitchen staff to ensure our cooks are mindful and work at a premium level. The Rusty Spoon was crafted into quality throughout its 8 years of being open, we hope you'll return to give us another chance as we perfect our establishment each and every day our doors are open. Have a wonderful day!
This place has good drinks but a very limited menu that is extremely overpriced. They actually had the audacity to charge a dollar for mayonnaise for a hamburger. By the way, they charge for all condiments and $14 for bread with some cheese sauce.
With prices as ridiculous as these are I can’t believe they try to nickel and dime you to death
Thank you for your feedback Mark, we'll be discussing this with our team as we continue to perfect our establishment. Our reasoning behind our menu pricing is a result of purchasing ingredients from local farmers and making every sauce, dressing, and loaf of bread by hand in our own kitchen. Although it would be cheaper to purchase ingredients from food distributors, it would go against our ethos of fueling our local economy and our commitment to premium level food. We hope you'll revisit us!
Wouldn’t know they wheee closed that night I made the reservation on open table
Hello there! We apologize for the miscommunication for we are still in the middle of updating our restaurant. Our hours have been officially changed and hope you'll choose to dine with us in the future!
Excellent service and fantastic food!
Awesome environment with excellent food prior to an event at the Amway. Great farm to table. Everything was delicious.
MUST MUST MUST order the haystack fries. You won't regret it. The food is yummy. The spot is nice.
Disappointed ☹️. Expected tastier food and more extensive menu. Service was slow. Dessert was good. Will not go back. Got an undeserved three star rating from AAA. Expected more with this rating.
Had a martini which was bad & expensive. Food wasn’t good at all & very high priced.
I’ve been to this location twice now! Each time the service was great and the food absolutely unique and delicious! Being able to make a reservation was so easy and my last visit, we had to adjust the time and they were very accommodating!
First time there and lunch with new business associates - great choice.
The restaurant was empty, which was odd given the excellent food and reviews I read.
Seated very quickly, server was very prompt, chef was accommodating to dairy and soy allergy, food came out quick. Small portions of food.
All the food was great! Service was great we never had to try and grab anyone’s attention!
Great food & staff. Really enjoyed everything! I hope the new chef is equally as accommodating with gluten free...that was the biggest reason our group settled on this restaurant. I always feel awkward being the only one with this need, but I have great friends that make sure when we all eat out that I’m good/safe to have fun with them. This place did not disappoint. Big thanks-being GFree, my meal was no different than anyone else & I love that our waiter kept it low profile.
Served two raw cheese burgers 🍔
When pointed out, the plates taken away but our raw meat covered silverware 🍴 💉 was left on the table was left to feast with.
When the plates came back 💥 same plate 💥 same meat juice covered sides 💥 SAME 🤢 🥩 MEAT! STILL RAW 🤮.
We sat as the waiter of the half empty over staffed restaurant walked by us until the end of our stay. He then took our uneaten food 🥘 and gave me the full priced bill. Manager was clueless. I have written ZERO reviews in my life, but to this level of incompetence needs to be heard. If they had any clue who I was sitting with they would have had the chef even owner checking on us.
