This place was amazing!!
The courtyard abuts a parking lot. We were besieged by scavenging birds and a curious squirrel. Good fresh bread. The oyster sliders were good but not outstanding. Shrimp and grits were bland and nearly tasteless. My wife’s steak was over cooked and tough. No reason to go back.
We sat on the patio and it was perfect.
Wonderful experience. The duck/waffle, caesar salad and sea bass special was all sensational. But the most amazing part of our dining experience was the outstanding service exhibited by Johnny, our waiter. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu items, and recommendations (i.e. special sea bass) was spot on. He constantly checked in with us, even though the restaurant was quite busy. He cared and it showed. Job well done
Outdoor dining was amazing. Great food and ambiance!
Food had a good flavor, and my red snapper was flavorful, but small in portion. My husbands steak was not cooked correctly. We sat outside and enjoyed the spring evening. There was a party of 30 that came in and we were repeatedly told that is why we were not getting our food over and over. The waiter forgot our wine order until we asked . I know Josh had a lot of tables, and he tried hard to get it right, but if he said “beautiful” in response to my answer one more time, I thought I would loose it. I guess after waiting over an hour for my dinner , I was under stress...
Just very disappointed. Had been there several times before and had excellent service and excellent food but this fell far below previous dinners.
We sat outside and had a lovely chicken salad wrap for lunch. Somehow they managed to elevate the mundane. It was light and flavorful. Don't miss the bacon bloody Mary, it's killer!
Eli's Table is so amazing! The atmosphere is beautiful and the food is even better! Every visit to Charleston requires dining at Elis!
Great experience knowledgable bar tender yummy food!
One of our favorites for breakfast. We love to drop in overtime we are in town.
The Fried Green Tomato Napoleon was delicious! The soft shell crab special entree was outstanding! The crab melted in your mouth & the sauce/relish was tasty & tangy! The sweet tea is also some of the best we’ve had! The service was excellent! Just love Eli’s Table!
Amazing food and service as always. Thank you once again.
Asked to move from in front of the door with the breeze, was blown off twice. Ordered a fondue, cheese was cold and reminded me nothing of fondue. Spent the time having my seat and my wife’s seat kicked over and over, no apologies. Not a place to go have a quiet dinner, so cramp and loud. Come at 6 pm or later, because I had to valet myself in the raging rain. Besides that, the entree was great!
I’m not sure what was going on Friday night but the food took forever to get served. A table behind us needed to have their dinner comped because it was so late.
The server was nice enough. My wife and I split a few courses and had a couple of cocktails and wine. The espresso rubbed ribeye, which was supposed to be “award winning” according to our menu and server was not very good at all.
The wine list is pretty basic, the cocktails weren’t very interesting and was made with pretty mediocre spirits. The potential is pretty high with a pretty cool location but it was just not a great meal that night. It’s a shame because we were looking forward to coming.
Reservation 730pm, arrive seated immediately. Place food order with drink order. 845pm still no food, no bread, no salad.
Comped 2 of the 4 dinners. Overall 2 out of 5 stars bc our food was very good just very slow.
I have never experienced this service in Charleston. We had reservations at 7 and were not seated until 8:15. On top of that we waited for over an hour for food. They bought a round of drinks to make up for it but Charleston is known for their food and service and this was unacceptable. I have lived here for almost 10 years and this has never happened. Needless to say I will not be back to Elis table.
Safe for celiacs! Gluten free educated and knowledgeable. Any questions on ingredients were immediately referred to the kitchen with proper follow-through. And an absolutely delicious breakfast 2 days in a row :)
Don't miss the eggs benedict! Our out-of-state visitors declared the coffee to be the best in SC and their empty plates would suggest the food was equally good. Great service along with a generous sense of humor.
Celebrated anniversary and the restaurant was very accommodating.
We should have known this was not going to be very good evening when the first waiter that came to our table said they were short staffed. My husbands salad was warm and my entree was just okay. We are surprised by all the high ratings
Parker should be nominated. for top server in Charleston. He made our anniversary something special! Thanks !
Service was good. The catfish and red rice were okay. The fish was over cooked. The beignets were, also, very over fried. Having eaten at Eli's several time before, I expected better.
The food was great and the server was excellent. Great experience!
Excellent menu choices and the service was exceptional.
We have been to Eli's before and decided to bring our friends out for a special birthday/pre-show dinner. Food and service were outstanding. Our server Parker was one of the best servers we have ever encountered. He had an outstanding personality and made our evening out with friends a special event. We will be back.
The food was amazing, especially the okra and fried green tomatoes, and our waiter was also pleasant. The only bad thing was the hostess giving my partner and I nasty looks because we were younger
Need to train staff better. We were almost turned away with open table reservation until the manager interceded.
Great breakfast menu that extends into the afternoon. Good recommendations from the waiter. This place never disappoints. Have been there for breakfast, lunch and late night dining.
Amazing Bloody Marys and shrimp & grits Benedict! We met friends for breakfast and sat outside since we had our dog with us. The service was excellent, and our food came out very quickly and nicely plated. Yummo! It was worth the drive from upstate!
Something was very wrong at this restaurant. It took a long time for someone to take our order, then it took even longer to get the food and when it arrived the chicken on the salad was not fully cooked and the soup was like paste. The waiter could benefit from some training and the kitchen seemed completely disorganized. We had been here before, but after today, it will be a long while before we go back.
We went for breakfast as it was right by our hotel. However, convenient, it was a great breakfast. We had the avocado sandwich. It was so good. I will be dreaming about it.
One of my favorite restaurants! I never travel to Charleston without a visit to Eli's Table. Hands-down the best fried green tomatoes I've ever had. I think about them at least twice a week...
The duck and waffle meal was the best meal I've ever had, highly, highly recommend!
It was such a disappointment. I live on Seabrook island and had invited friends down for the weekend. I had been to Eli's Table a couple of years ago and remembered it as being a great unique place.
We had a 7 pm reservation and arrived early. By about 7:15 our drink, appetizer and main course orders had been taken. The drinks and appetizers were wonderful and arrived promptly. But then it was 8:00, 8:30; 9:00 and no dinner. We were so hungry! The waiter kept telling us that they were so busy and backed up in the kitchen. When we had arrived the place was over half empty, but it did fill up as usual for a Saturday night in the city. Finally we asked to speak to the manager and it took about 15 minutes before he came over. He was apologetic, but if they can't handle so many people they shouldn't book so many tables. It was another half hour before we got our food-which came out lukewarm to cold and two of us sent it back to be warmed. So we didn't even eat together and it was 10 by the time we were done. The food was good but the experience was very disappointing.
The manager offered us dessert but we all just wanted to get home; he took a whopping $60 off the bill...
It must have been ten times we were told, "We're so busy tonight!" Well, not by us anymore!
Service was excellent. Food was delicious ! I had the duck and waffles and my husband had the shrimp and grits. Both lived up to their reputation! IThe fried green tomatoes were the best I ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed!
We had avoided Eli's Table because it's in the heart of the tourist area but that was a mistake! The menu was varied, the service prompt and courteous, the food delicious. It has a more elegant feel than most of the surrounding eateries. We will be back.
Been many times and a go to stop when in charleston but this time was totally uneven. Nice spot , warm people , but food was over or under seasoned and service was inconsistent.
