My eggs benedict was extremely under cooked so I couldn’t eat it. I also didn’t have time to get it corrected so the kitchen gave me some quick scrambled eggs and French fries so I had something to eat before I had to leave for an appt. The restaurant itself is beautiful. I love the way it’s decorated. It feels very “Joanna Gains”. Beautiful. I love the idea of a mimosa flight but the flavors of the mimosas are off. I would suggest a traditional mimosa and some lighter, fruitier flavors. The current options are very heavy and strong. The waitress was very accommodating to the issue with the food but had a very standoffish attitude and made me feel like she was put out by my presence. My first impression is the food and service are not up to par with the beautiful restaurant they are served/serving within. I hope to go back under better circumstances.
Very beautiful brunch location. Delicious Pork Belly grilled cheese and the mimosa was delish!
A good brunch standby when in Syracuse. Close to campus. Fine prices. I was not wowed by the food but I think some dishes (the blueberry pancakes) were better than others (the scrambled eggs and hash browns were just okay). Tasty toast and bacon. For pancakes, note that they serve corn syrup, not maple.
Was a beautiful night, the location was easy for people to get together..
This place is beautiful. The food was great and the service superb. I'll be back
Unfortunately there was a roudy group of women talking very loudly which made it hard to enjoy our dinner. Food was excellent though.
Farm to table...local CNY foods, excellent meal choices. Plenty of lighting & space. Wait service friendly & helpful. Can’t beat the recently remodeled Hotel Syracuse! Charming hospitality, rich tradition & the food was excellent!
We found the restaurant to be a beautiful place, and we had a fine, special-occasion meal with friends. However , there are a couple things that we noticed were lacking in a high-end restaurant: the most-noticed happened right at the beginning: the menu lists were sticky, not particularly clean, and the wood plank and rubber-band system is better suited for a pub-food environment. (we even have one of those menu systems in a local pub back home). Also we found the menu and wine lists, well, OK, but could have had a few more selections, especially NY State wines, which are supposed to be your featured items for the restaurant, IMHO. What you did list were fine, but a few more from other vineyards would better represent a fine restaurant as well as our wineries.
Made a reservation. Zero recognition or thanks at arrival.
Restaurant was mostly empty but forced into seating where hostess wanted to seat me for the convenience of the waitress, as opposed to letting me sit in a better area that would have required the waitress to walk a couple of extra feet to the next section.
No lunch on Saturday afternoon, only brunch. Yet there didn't seem to be any brunch specials. The wine list was pretty weak, especially lacking in terms of New York wine. I was very surprised not to find a New York sparkling wine on the menu. Even though it's the same restaurant and presumably they have the food you can't order from the dinner menu even in the mid-afternoon. I did manage to order a Caesar salad, which was on the lunch and dinner menus but not the brunch menu. It was one of the worst salads, ever. Parmesan cheese was powdered. The salmon was a tiny, thin piece of salmon that was dry and way overcooked. I don't have much faith in the kitchen cooking something more elaborate if they can't even make a salad.
Waitress never asked if the meal was any good. No manager was around either. Never asked about drink refills. She constantly bugged us to sign the check so she could go home. Restaurant was apparently closing up at 2 p.m. We were basically chased out by 1:30 p.m.
I can see why the restaurant was completely empty. Horrible service, a bad menu, and a bad kitchen = complete waste of money. This restaurant should be a happening place on Saturdays and Sundays, but it isn't. Complete epic fail.
Service was extremely long and the eggs Benedict was bad.
Made reservations for Syracuse graduation and was never informed that there was $29 buffet only. It was Mother’s Day but website never mentioned. We were expecting a sit down menu.
We were celebrating our daughters SYU graduation. The service was excellent and basically saved the overall experience. The food was disappointing. The fish special was over salted. We had to send a steak back three times to have it cooked right. And by the third time it was not edible. We should have stopped at the salads and bread which were great. Thanks Jon for your great service!
The service was fabulous. The atmosphere was lovely. The wine selection was extensive. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I would definitely recommend.
Nothing about this place was a wow. The food was okay the atmosphere and decor was adorable but again nothing about it was like omg we have to come back.
Great food and service. Nice ambiance. Convenient location.
We really enjoyed our first visit there! The food was delicious and it was a very relaxed and quiet atmosphere. A nice change for a Saturday night.
Brunch was lovely. Everything was very fresh and well prepared. It's good for large groups as well as just for a quiet meal for two old friends wanting to catch up. And the windows create a light airy ambiance. Can't wait to go back!
Food was good. Service was a little slow for items ordered off the menu
Eleven Waters sits in a stunningly beautiful restored Marriott hotel in downtown Syracuse. Eleven Waters is supposed to be their signature restaurant and its was, frankly, disappointing. We had an 8:00pm reservation for 2 and were seated immediately (+). The restaurant was not very crowded as evidenced by several empty tables we could see in our section. We had a very nice conversation with our pleasant waitress and ordered drinks(+). Drinks were served 15 mins later (-), The vodka/soda drink seemed to be soda only (-) and the bourbon ordered on the rocks was served neat and had to be sent back for ice (-). We went to order our meal and were informed the premium dish on the menu (Filet Mignon) was sold out (-). We then took recommendations from the waitress and ordered appetizers and entrees. The appetizers came 45 minutes later (--), they were, however, tasty (+). Entrees came and the lamb, which was highly recommended by the server, came in 3 pieces. It was ordered medium rare and had 1 piece medium and two well done. We did not order dessert. To her credit, the waitress removed the lamb from the final bill when she saw it was over done. Final Impression: Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff, slow service and mediocre food. Not the value we expected for the price and not in keeping with the grandeur of the hotel.
Had a great lunch in past - service was off, which cascade into food quality for dinner. Would recommend for lunch, might not for dinner.
If the food was exceptional (which it was not) the service could be overlooked. It seems the waitress had to many tables to wait on and there was no help for her with filling water glasses and getting out the food quickly. We told her we had Syracuse Stage tickets at the onset and when we ordered coffee which doesn’t require kitchen assistance, that took to long to get also. So we skip the coffee. It’s likely we will not go back there again.
We stayed at Marriott downtown and wanted an easy but nice place to have dinner. Tatiana was our waitress- very professional with just the right touch of friendliness. In fact everyone was like that,I noticed how they all work together, quietly delivering and clearing meals and being accommodating.
Had meatball app and beet salad, lamb loin dinner and strip steak—ALL DELICIOUS! Rolls and fresh butter arrived w/ appetizer. It’s not the norm anymore and was a treat. I didn’t care for the broccoli chimichurre sauce on streak, but that’s a personal preference. The one little disappointment was the hot choc pannacotta wasn’t available.
I also thought the dining room could have been a touch darker.
Overall very pleasant experience!!
Server was indifferent. She seemed to be in a bad mood from the moment we arrived. Just average food. Typical Hotel restaurant
We made a reservation a few days in advance for 7 PM, we were sat right away but did not order until almost 7:30. We ordered appetizers, wine, and meals. We got the wine pretty quickly and were told that we would be brought over the complimentary bread. We got that about 20 minutes later. We ordered two different types of flat breads. About 30 minutes later one of them was brought out and we were told the second one was burnt so she requested it to be re-made as she didn’t think it was appropriate to serve, apparently the chef did not. That took about another 15 minutes or so. Our soups and salads we ordered were brought out shortly after the second flat bread. We did not receive our meals for roughly another 45 minutes. We ordered 5 different meals and only one of the 5 of us were satisfied with the meal. I myself ordered a filet mignon specifying that I wanted it cooked medium well, when it came out it was probably as rare as they are able to legally cook it. The waitress only came to our table when something was being brought to us, did not check in at all. We were sat in a separate overflow room due to “being busy” no one else was sat in this are and we could not be seen or heard. I had to walk around the corner to another area to track down the waitress and when I wasn’t able to I saw a busser and asked for him to find the waitress. She came over about 10 minutes later. I asked that my filet be cooked longer and also let her know that my one friend took one bite of her meal and was not at all happy with it and myself and two others were not very please with our meals either. She offered to bring something else but it had taken so long for everything else she didn’t dare want to wait for another meal to be prepared. She took my steak back to be cooked more to my liking. She came back a couple of minutes later and brought a macaroni and cheese that she “found” to my friend who was not happy with her meal and did not eat it. More to tell but out of space.
Our meal was great, tasty, and reasonably priced! A special shout out to our waiter, Jon, who was entertaining, funny, and solicitous. He even laughed at my lame jokes! We’ll be back!
Server was great, wine was good Ravines Maximllien 2104. Wifes Filet was over cooked, they made it right, but it took a long time for them to bring new steak. They were out of all tap beers and the veal osa bucca. Pasta dishes were just ok. With the exception of the wait staff, This was unfortunately a mediocre experience at best. I have ate here several times in the past with much better results.
Our dinner and drinks were fantastic. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere is wonderful.
Food was overpriced and not very tasty. Would not go back.
Service was exceptional, portion sizes a bit small. Female hostess was dismissive, not sure if restaurant is used to catering to African American people. She was the only issue we had. Music was pleasant and most of staff was friendly.
Nice menu choices. You can dress casual or dress up and you'll fit in. Food and service was very good!
Food was excellent. Drinks were simple but good. Decent wine list. We had terrible service. Table next door had excellent service, but our waitress seemed thoroughly uninterested. Otherwise, it was excellent.
The food was superb and the service was excellent.
I can’t really review this place because I made a reservation, through this site, for brunch on New Year’s Day for 1:45pm and the kitchen closed at 2pm!! No one, literally NO ONE, told us (3 people that arrived separately) this was the case until after we had ordered drinks. Not cool.
We went on Christmas Day and it was fantastic. We loved the calm atmosphere and the quiet corner we were seated in. The food was exquisite and the service was exceptional!
Its a nice place but very pricey. The portions are small and my steak was chewy nd my potatoes were cold. For 2 adults and one child it was $150 and the menu was limited.
We loved the food and our server John was very kind and had an awesome sense of humor.
We would have rated the place 5 stars but on a few occasions, we asked for certain drinks and they did not have them (please amend your menus as it was an inconvenience).
Christmas Eve dinner was indeed enjoyable & very tasty.
Very good service as well as atmosphere. The food was uninspiring and lacking in any unique taste. Loved the “new” hotel , but next time I will try the Pub.
We arrived at 6:15 and specifically told our server that we were in a bit of a rush because we were seeing a show. She assured us that she would take care of us and took our drink and good order all at once. We then waited 20 minutes for our drinks, received bread with parts of our meal 15 minutes after that at least then received the rest of our meal at 7:15 when we had to leave for the show. The food was delicious but we could barely eat it. She offered no apology or compensation. Never checked on us. We had to flag her down. It was terrible.
The restaurant was out of the two appetizers that we ordered. Also out of wine we ordered and one of the entrees. Was hoping for a better experience. Service was efficient.
First time here and we just loved this place we live locally and will definitely return!!!
Plus our waiter (Jon) was outstanding which makes it even better !!!!
Can't wait to return!
