The food was lovely but with all the elaborate presentation ideas the meal became more about the presentation and experience then the food itself. I have eaten here three times now and each time it has gotten more about the performance of bringing out the food and serving. Our table was brought back into the kitchen where we were very impressed with how quiet and professional the kitchen was! And please...how do they do that card trick for the chocolate course?

Flavours are unique and how they serve the food is great. Great overall experience however some flavours did not mesh well and found it abit odd on the tongue. Female waitress not friendly though kept staring over at our table and smirking like we did not belong there. Location is in nice neighborhood. We were recommended this place through friends back in Australia. Our waiter made an effort to entertain us, talk to us which we loved as I despise uptight waiters. Thumbs up experience with my girlfriends. Also bumped into Ashton Kutche and Mila Kunis there.

Dining here is truly wonderful. The amazing service starts immediately you walk in the door of this art deco building. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Dietary intolerances are managed well. The food is an experience not to be missed despite the 14 degustation courses being a bit much by the end. The food included many tastes of NY, such as a carrot tartare dish based on a dish from Peter Luger Steakhouse, a egg cream soda and a cheese dish based on a picnic in Central Park. It is almost a theatrical performance dining here. A visit to the kitchen was fascinating as there were as many staff members working as guests in the dining room. We will return again and would highly recommend this restaurant.

lived up to expectations from year before. the service is so beyond perfection - the creativity and food sublime!! have never been anywhere that meets the quality of this restaurant. we were made to feel so very special - that is not always true of other michelin 3 star restaurants.

Despite the sillyness/playfulness of its latest menu, this was an amazing dining experience. Sometimes I wished that they stopped with the story telling (and perhaps served a few less items with "snow" - despite how deceptive it looks compared to its taste). But I will be thinking about this meal for a very long time. Every course was yummy/fun or shockingly delicious. The duck was the absolutely perfect - crisp on the outside, mouth wateringly tender and served with fitting sides. I can't wait to go back. Oh, and the granola parting goody was AMAZING as well!

The new menu is interesting and was definitely a special treat but the meal took a very long time. We sat down at 6:30 and did not leave the restaurant until around 11:30. I would recommend going once to try but not sure if I will go back again.

The New York Times review of 17 September 2012 is pretty accurate: An amazing meal, with some theatrics and a homespun story that enhanced more that detracted from Daniel Humm's brilliant cooking. All in all, a highly recommended meal and still worthy it's 3 MIchelin Stars and 4 NYT Stars.

Apparently Mr. Daniel Humm is a very talented chef. It is a pity that he concentrated so much on the creativity and presentation of the food that he forgot about the taste of it. Almost every dish is too salty and have somthing that is pickled. As my guest put it, there is only two flavors in the entire meal: salt and acidity.
