Eleve Restaurant & Rooftop
We always chose Eleve for brunch on Second Sunday due to the delicious omelets, outstanding service and value. We have never been disappointed. Thank you, Eleve!
Thanks for the great feedback Michele, we look forward to having you join us next second Sunday!
Extremely disappointed that our server would not give us individual checks, instead she told us to figure out our bill. With a lounge area that encourages large tables this does not make sense at all. The drinks were good, and so were the truffle fries. Pass on the escargot, they are overloaded with breadcrumbs which absorbed any juice there may have been. They come with bread which is a waste since there is no juice to soak up with the bread.
Hi Amanda, Thank you for your insightful feedback. I have made it a point to address this issue with our management staff. There should never be an issue with separating your bills, and have rectified this from happening again in the future. Thank you once again,
Enjoyed Eleve very much. The server was exceptional and the food was very good. It is a very nice space to spend an evening with friends. Also has a nice view of Charleston.
Service was very poor. Took a long time to be acknowledged and to receive drinks. Only did so when someone other than our server came over to help. We had a 7pm reservation and were one of only a few tables sat. The filet was so charred (which wasn’t mentioned on the menu) that it was like eating a charcoal briquette. This was very disappointing because once you did get past the crust, it was delicious. The French bread which looked so appetizing was also underwhelming.
The setting itself was beautiful. The decor on the inside is romantic and chic. The outdoor terrace has gorgeous views.
Overall I had expectations for a delicious meal and was let down.
Thank you for your detailed feedback, we take our guests comments very seriously. We have already addressed these issues to ensure it does happen again in the future. Thank you once again,
Nice place for young, attractive people. Not a nice place for a family of three generations (85 to 18) due to the noise level. Our server was absolutely wonderful and made us feel welcomed and appreciated.
The server (Sam) was awesome, and the overall view on the rooftop was beautiful. However, there was poor lighting outside (no candles or other source of table light), and the food was prepared terribly. A medium filet mignon was grey all the way through. The lamb chops were literally burnt to charcoal and inedible. The asparagus didn't have the fibrous ends removed. For the prices they charge and the status of this restaurant, those are unforgivable errors. Had they prepared them right it probably would have been a great meal that I'd recommend. I'm telling people to avoid this place unless they like eating overcooked overpriced food in the dark
The hostess looked like she was annoyed that she had to help us when we got there. When we were seated we had no light at the table and a server never came to greet us. We sat there for over 20 minutes and we left. The server came out and helped the table that just sat down next to us. We will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone. If I could give it 0 stars I would!
Hi Katie, Thank you for your feedback! We take out guest comments very seriously, and have already addressed this issue. Thanks again,
Great decor, fun place, and food was wonderful. On a hot day, eat inside and still enjoy, but on a cool day or night eat on the roof.
Excellent experience. We went on a really slow night for restaurant week. Had never heard of this place but just picked them from the list on restaurant week site.
Since it's on the top floor of a hotel it's somewhat off the beaten path but worth the visit.
Food was great and saw plenty of interesting items on the menu that may warrant another visit some time.
after dinner we went out to porch to relax with a drink.
The food and service were great, but the noise level was insane. We dined during restaurant week, but the majority of people there were at the bar. The escargot and lamb chops were both prepared well and delicious. The carpaccio was good, but the salty crispy capers took away from the taste of the beef. The tilefish entree was perfect, and the caramel cheesecake was fantastic. Would we return? We would, but I do hope the rooftop restaurant and bar do not become yet another hangout for young people who are only there for the drinks and the view. The noise level and bar crowd did not match the quality of the food. It was difficult to hold a conversation, which made the dining experience less than anticipated. We hope the restaurant will continue to cater to those looking for an upscale meal.
Scene was very elegant! Truffle fries were tasty. We reserved a section for the rooftop, however, all the outdoor seating was taken so we had to sit inside. We had the most amazing server however, that turned the experience around!
We ate off the restaurant week menu. The appetizers were delicious but the entrees were mediocre and the desserts were terrible.
Rooftop is such a cool place have dinner or just hang out and listen to music and have drinks. We had a great time. The salmon was delicious! After dinner, we lounged on the sofa with our drinks (blueberry bramble was soooo good) and listened to some really good music. It was such an enjoyable evening.
The ambience and setting of Eleve is the ONLY reason why I would go back in the future. Unlike most restaurants that serve full portions during Restaurant Week, I feel that Eleve did not....and if they did then their portions are entirely too small. It also took 15 minutes before we were greeted by our server. He let us know that they had just been hit with a late rush but after being in the service industry for 5 years I know it is unacceptable for customers to wait 15 minutes before they are even greeted. The Steak Au Poivre was really good just very small and the plate was mostly covered in what tasted and looked like, McDonald's french fires.
Every dish we ordered was super salty- even something as basic as the Caesar salad. Food was a disappointment. Noise level was also tough. This was mostly due to the musical act, which was a one man band with a very odd style of music. We couldn’t wait to get out of there. It was also freezing inside even though the restaurant was full.
The server was very nice but the food was bland and awful. I ordered avocado toast and has zero flavor not even the greens tossed in had flavor. I couldn’t finish it and only advice is to have server ask bc I felt I didn’t want to seem upset but it was disappointing as I didn’t think you could ruin avocado toast
Way too noisy!!!
Like a dorm room with out of control decibels!
Love Marriott Boutique hotels but so disappointed in the Élevé restaurant the restaurant was empty and service was poor very slow unfriendly. Food was not very good had Steak asked for medium rare it was medium well and charred on the outside black but was not supposed to be blackened. My husbands lamb chops were okay. Breakfast 1st day was fine second day waffles same as ordered the day before were well done on outside and greasy and doughy. Sent back did not charge me but remade me another plate same thing must have been two much butter on the waffle maker and turned up to high. Overall loved hotel would go elsewhere to dine.
Food was excellent.
Service very slow and the wrong food was delivered.
Very expensive as well.
Roof top was nice although background music was too loud.
More attention and training to service staff needed!
The food was very good and service was excellent. The drinks from the bar were good but maybe a bit pricey.
We had a reservation but that didn’t seem to matter. It was 30 minutes before we got our first drink order and we had to ask 3 times where the oysters were from. There was only 3 other tables dining so to have the lack of attention and hospitality was surprising.
For the upscale advertisement and high price, I expected exceptional food and atmosphere. Dress wasn't enforced, creating a loud and "corner pub" scene. The food was good, but overpriced; expected better given the high cost. People were friendly, and would only recommend going for a few drinks.
Great atmosphere. Beautiful views of the city. Food is good and the service was exceptional.
Incredible venue and great food and service! The poached pear salad with cornbread crotons was incredible!
Very pretty inside. The service was ok. Nothing outstanding. Nice touches in decor. The music was irritating and odd for the establishment, dance music, way too loud.
Was interested by the menu and rooftop bar option... so I decided to book it instead of going to the same places we always go. BEST CHOICE! Top notch choice all the way around! Definitely a new favorite we'll frequent many times
Exceptional! The staff is friendly, the food is excellent and the live music was so good! This place is a must visit for any Charleston trip. Great place to celebrate or just enjoy a fun night out. The salmon was delicious and the baked French bread was amazing.
This was the second time I went to Eleve. It was even better this time. The carpaccio was excellent, perfectly sliced, seasoned and presented. Great taste. The calamari was also excellent. I’ll be back!
Service was outstanding, food was decent, bathrooms were dirty!
We had a great experience at Eleve Restaurant and Rooftop. The lighting and decor was perfect for a girls weekend/birthday dinner. We ordered several different things and found all of them to be delicious. As strange as it is, we would all highly recommend the truffle fries and the Nutella lava cake. It was not very busy while we were there, but we had opted for a later dinner. Service however was on the slower side, surprisingly so. We had planned on having drinks on the rooftop but found the crowd to be older, probably made up of those staying at the hotel. All in all it was a great experience and we would definitely return.
Wandered up to Eleve for an anniversary celebration and it didn’t disappoint!
Sam was Ana amazing server—we shared stories and he advised us on great ideas for Charleston. Thank you!!’
There was a collective slow, southern lethargy since we got there early, almost like Friday night was crazy and long into the morning, and everyone was just getting back to it...but, Sam did an amazing job of upping the tempo for us and suddenly we realized the place was coming alive.
Try the Blueberry Bramble cocktail!
This is the best service I've had in a while. Whenever I go out of town, I am saddened by the service I receive. It's always a joy to come back home to Charleston, an example of true hospitality. Our servers were alert, friendly, and on top of everything. They knew what we wanted before we asked for it. The food was also very good. The ambiance was amazing. What stands out most of all though is the servers. I would definitely recommend it!
The food was great but the service was very slow.
Honestly what was best about Eleve was that the service was outstanding. Now the Maitre de had no idea we had a reservation, thank you Open Table.
But once seated the server did an excellent job with the keeping the 12 of us well-fed and happy.
The food was good though not exceptional. I'd say this is a good hotel restaurant.
Great service and exquisitely prepared food. Cant go wrong here
The Ambiance was the best part. it is so loud it really was impossible to talk to each other period. Food was decent, I had to send my salmon back because it was raw in the middle not medium like I requested. our waitress was nice but not on top of her service. Lastly the live music they chose did not fit the Ambiance at all. It was like the guy was pulled from some pub. Out of all the choices in Charleston to choose from I was disappointed that I went with this one for my Mom & Sisters Bday Dinner.
The staff was amazing, they did a great job making me and my party feel welcome and taken care of. The view could have been better but the ambiance was lovely. Would return.
We just came for drinks and snacks. I made a reservation on open table and wanted the upstairs rooftop dining and they seated us on a private patio away from the noise! It was super private and our waiter Sam was amazing. We will definitely be back
Sam was a great waiter! We had the Kessler Calamari, garlic frites and filets. All were great! Highly recommend.
Good food, adequate service, too noisy.
Excellent location...perhaps best enjoyed as a bar w/heavy hors d’oeuvres.
