Eleve Restaurant & Rooftop
Service was fair at best .
Given it was a buffet and the place wasn’t even half full for Mother’s Day, there really is no reason a customer should have to beg for drinks and water.
Though the staff were polite and friendly, clearly there was no management.
If you are going to charge 180 dollars for a Sunday brunch ( we had 1 complimentary Mimosa and 1 beer each) good service should be a given.
Some Mother’s were given a flower others were not
when the check arrived. I guess we didn’t make the cut.
Charleston has lots of better options with rooftop dining.
This is a hip restaurant and the food was good, but the service was somewhat lacking. The rooftop is a great space, but there’s really nothing to look at from the rooftop. It is hard to hear what your friends are saying with concrete floors and open ceilings. I would think it’s a better nightlife scene than dinner.
The ambience here is great, but the quality of the food and the flavors were subpar. Especially when compared to other nearby restaurants. We ended our 4 day trip at Eleve and were not impressed. The food was overly salted and dry. The options for the 2 vegetarians in the group were also limited and my lamb chops were accompanied by flava beans and mushrooms. I also had the wood fired oysters which sounded delicious but after two, I had my fill.
We had a reservation and requested seating outdoor when we made the reservation. Hostess said there were no tables outside even though we walked by an empty one. When we went back to ask 30 minutes later, she said she had one which was the empty one we walked by before! A ploy to get us to order drinks first??? Service was beyond SLOW! Would not go back!
Such a fun place! It's a really cool atmosphere, great bar area. The baked French bread was so good! Truffle fries were delicious. The live music was a great mix of songs and very entertaining. It was a really busy night but the waitstaff were very attentive. Will definitely be going back.
Extremely loud music, service was extremely slow. We didn't wait long enough to get our food because it took over an hour and we ordered a meat and cheese plate (no cooking required) manager blamed the slow poor service on a large unexpected table that came in. Isn't that what they want? Customers? And to be busy on a Saturday night? They should be able to handle the volume.
Too loud, acoustics terrible. Out of several ingredients on menu which was limited already. Service was slow and would only split check for our large group 4 ways but then split everyone’s check at table next to us that was the same size. Would not recommend, too many other great options in Charleston.
This was loudest restaurant I’ve ever been in. The food was mediocre at best. It was definitely overpriced for the quality. The bartender was good. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Excellent food and service with great views of city.
We were hoping we could sit outside, but there are very few tables out there. Inside was incredibly noisy. There is a bar on either side of the dining area and music was blasting from the speakers making it virtually impossible to talk to someone across the table.
Door was good, but not up to what I expect from a higher end Charleston restaurant. Probably will not go there again.
I had visited Eleve before and liked it so I came there for my birthday dinner. We asked to move outside as the inside was so loud it was difficult to communicate. The food was ok - nothing great, the service was not good - although I understand that there was a medical emergency that evening that took our server away from us for a time. Unfortunately, I don't plan to go back again.
We had early dinner reservations for a party of 10. When we first arrived the staff was friendly and attentive. They took our drink orders, delivered them quickly and then took our dinner orders. Our food was delivered in a timely manner. That was the last we saw of our server. I realize the restaurant had filled up, it was a Saturday night. We had to find our server and ask for a dessert menu and ask for the check after that. There was live music that was so loud you couldn't speak to the person next to you and the musician was not very good. The food was great but unfortunately we were forgotten as the evening progressed.
Great location and nice looking restaurant from the inside. Gorgeous views of the city. Attentive service and excellent food. Definitely will be coming back for drinks some time, if not dinner again.
Girls Celebrating our 60th - perfect spot!!
Great food and service although the food delivery was a bit slower than normal.
Great venue, the rooftop was fabulous and we enjoyed their delightful food
Such a great atmosphere! The food was delicious and the wait staff very attentive, especially for such a crowded night. The live music was great. I would definitely recommend.
Waitress spent all her time at two other tables. She was super nice. But it took a very long time to get coffee and then check because other guests were more important it seemed
Breakfast however was great—greeted warmly and no issues at all!
I should have paid attention to the reviews I saw about long wait times and mediocre service. I walked in and wasn’t greeted- I had to be the one to initiate the conversation and then she just kinda looked at me weird. I sat down at the table with my husband (this was for our anniversary) and we just sat there for 30 mins. No service, no attention, nothing. And we were only one of about 4 tables in there. We got up and left! Don’t waste your time. They do not value their customers.
Great Atmosphere and stellar service! Food was excellent, but a bit overpriced. Indoor seating was already loud due to high ceiling, but then there was a very loud live guitarist/singer who made it virtually impossible to talk even just across our table. Unnecessary to have the live music, and if there, should be much quieter. Outdoor area is really nice for a drink.
Bonita was the best server I have ever had and I have been in the service industry for over 10 years. Props for having genuine people in a corporate setting. Also Lillian is a gem and made it an easy experience to come dine at Eleve!
The decor and food were outstanding
Lunch on the rooftop provided a nice respite after a busy morning. The charcuterie was delicious and offered selections we both enjoyed. The hostess, Stephanie, was delightful - and our waitress/bartender Lillian was welcoming & knowledgeable. She made a tasty margarita on the rocks too!
We enjoyed Sunday brunch on the outside patio - our server was wonderful. Avocado toast with eggs was a hit...beautiful views with relaxed / funky decor. Nice way to spend early Sunday afternoon!
Food was poor and overpriced
Food was over cooked, took over an hour and a half for our food to come after we ordered. It was a terrible experience all around!
We were excited to try eleve. It is beautiful but it was easily one of the worst experiences I have had. The drinks were terrible, the food was even worse and the server was very nice but not trained. It was actually shocking it was so bad. Would NOT recommend for dinner. Stop by and have a drink but skip the food.
Very beautiful space. Nice menu, and the food we ordered was prepared and plated beautifully. We found the menu difficult to see though, and the noise level kept getting higher as the room filled up. Our server was sweet, but her visits to our table got further apart as our meal went on. It is a fun place to go, though, with the outdoor space, and lots of bar space.
Loud, lost our credit card in the trash can, terrible service, mediocre food.
It was an overall great dining experience for Valentine’s Day. This is a high quality restaurant with a price tag to match.
The atmosphere was beautiful with an amazing live guitarist singing. The staff was kind and helpful and extremely accommodating. Food was delicious! We had an amazing experience at this restaurant!
The bar and outside lounge are amazing and the drinks are very good. They are a tad overpriced but not as overpriced as the food. When we got there, no one greeted us and when we informed them we had a reservation they looked confused. It took almost 10 min for someone to come to our table to ask if we wanted a drink and give us menus. The Calamari was overcooked and my husbands steak was mediocre at best and served with fries for $30+...My tilefish was delicious but should have been cut thinner. Overall, I'd go back for drinks but not for dinner.
I'm honestly not sure how this restaurant stays open. Beautiful decor and roof top views, but that's where it ends. With so many great choices in Charleston, Eleve doesn't even come close to hitting the mark.
This place has a great atmosphere, inside and out. The food was delicious...truffle fries were amazing. The staff and servers were friendly and attentive. They had live music and it was a great mix of songs, very entertaining. Everyone had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back.
This restaurant is located in the Grand Bohemian Hotel. Our food was tasty and well presented. The atmosphere was pleasing as was our server. We would definitely return.
We went during restaurant week. Tried a few items which I would have never ordered off the main menu. Amazing!!! Loved it all. Can't wait to return! We had the nicest server ever.
