Cafeteria setting. We ordered two burgers @ $18 each and were surprised to be served frozen patties on supermarket buns.
Amazing food- great waiter..waiting for the property to be finished out
This was our first experience at Skylaranna and we left with full bellies and happy hearts. We went to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary and were brave enough to bring our 3 children in tow. We immediately felt welcomed, even with having young children with us. LOVED the food--so good, so fresh. Definitely get the shrimp and grits when you go!! The decor and ambiance were just eh, but I know there are many renovations to be had and know that eventually it will be amazing!
Best filet I've ever eaten!
My wife and I were only in town for one night, staying at the SKYLARANNA resort / boutique hotel this restaurant is a part of.
We shared two entrees - The VERY BEST lamb chops and salmon ever! Beautiful presentation and delicious flavors - both perfectly cooked - our new favorite surf-and-turf combo!
Staff was attentive and friendly - great seating options indoors or a wonderful outdoor top deck sunset view.
Could not have been better!
We had a great experience visiting this restaurant! They are still doing a lot of construction (they appear to be adding a pool and spa below the deck). The petite filet mignon was larger then average. The service was very friendly and was working hard. The kitchen was maybe a tad slower then ideal but the food was amazing. It will be very beautiful when it is all complete.
Food was great. Tasty and well prepared. Waitstaff was a bit undone because tables didn't turn over as quickly as they anticipated and several with reservations were left waiting for tables. They are currently undergoing some construction which takes away from the ambiance. This place has promise, but I will wait until construction is complete to return.
Not worth the drive from our bed and breakfast in downtown Hendersonville. Very little parking. No atmosphere inside the restaurant. Food was average at best. Did not meet expectations.
Best Meal ALL year... in several years!
Great view and great drink selection.
Worth the out of the way drive...
It is a lovely setting. The food was delicious. The wait staff was more minimal, but everyone is short staffed right now. They are still in the construction phase in areas but the
Main hotel, restaurant and patio were great!
Great dinner and experience. This was our second dinner with them and we were very pleased. Staff and waiters are very accommodating and friendly. This is a jewel for the area. Wish them much success. Will be a regular on our list.
Food was delicious!!
Looking forward for the cabins, spa to get build.
Great food, good service, sketchy atmosphere. Found this place on Open Table. Was a little concerned when we drove up ana saw it under construction and various boxes laying around in the halls. The atmosphere wasn’t great, but the food was great and the service was good.
This is our second time dining at Elevations. It won’t be the last. Great service, Great food, Great environment. I prefer my steak well done (I know, I know). Even cooked well done it was tender enough to cut with a butter knife. The goat cheese appetizer is amazing. Just go and try it for yourself...you won’t be disappointed.
We had a nice Anniversary dinner, our first time there. We had reservations and our table was ready on time. Server was excellent as was the bar service. Food was very good but not outstanding. Beautiful sunset on the patio for pictures.
This was our first visit to Elevations. The server was friendly and kept the water glasses full but the kitchen seemed to have some issues. A couple who were seated long after us received their appetizer (the same one we had ordered) long before we did. The entrees were slow to arrive, but they were piping hot and the food was tasty. I had the salmon and it was moist and well seasoned. My husband enjoyed his pork chops, too. Overall, it was a good experience, but we will probably try other restaurants in the area before returning to this one.
Sat on the deck overlooking the blue ridge mountains. The view is stunning. The noise from the hvac unit at the kitchen was very loud though. Some of the waitstaff were very good, some ok, some needed work. Had 3-4 people serving our table throughout the meal. Regardless we were taken care of in a timely manner. Had the Brie fondue which was runny but tasted good. The dippers with it could have been much nicer. (Pieces of carrot, celery, grape). Apple, potato would be nice options and presentation better. I had chicken, is was good, not great. Hubs had skirt steak which was very good. Cooked perfectly, chimichuri very tasty but steak was seasoned a little uneven. All in all a good meal but improvements could be made.
Was immediately taken aback by the complete lack of vegetarian options. Not a single entree. Ordered the salmon, the fried rice was undercooked and cold. Overall, the quality did not match the price. Won’t be back.
We ate here two times during our stay. The first time we ordered the salmon and lamb chops. Both dishes were wonderful though I thought that the fried rice served with the salmon was a bit too crispy for me. The second time I had the chicken which was incredible. The flavors were wonderful and the mushrooms to die for. My partner had the churrasco with the roasted veggies and grits. He also thought that the flavors were incredible. Both nights we had great service, once with Mickaela and the other time with Mark.
We were really pleased with our food! Outstanding experience! Trying to come up with an excuse to dine there again!
We were pleasantly surprised! It was a cold rainy day and to cap it off, no gas available at local stations, so we stayed in. Decided on Elevations for dinner and started the evening off at the lounge. The atmosphere is good and the employees, lounge and dining were great. The food surprised us as to presentation and quality. The whole experience surprised my wife and myself. Again, the bartender and waitress were great.
We enjoyed a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch out on the terrace of Elevations at Skylaranna. We were all very pleased with the quality and quantity of food, the server (Mark) was great, the roses for the two moms in our group were very much appreciated, and the expansive view of Mt. Pisgah and the Blueridge made for a wonderful setting. (There are way too few restaurants in the area with that kind of view, so Skylaranna ranks up there with the well known, high priced competition up in Asheville.) The high quality tableware and cloth napkins didn’t go unnoticed and were very much appreciated. Sunday brunch is new here, but they did an excellent job. It took a sensible amount of time to get our food which worked well with taking time to enjoy conversation in the beautiful setting. The brunch prices were quite reasonable. My wife and I definitely plan to go back!!! We’d love to be able to sit out on the terrace again to enjoya meal around sunset. This is a new business and it looks like some site development is going on during weekdays. We heard they have 51 acres and big plans. These guys obviously have some vision. I hope they execute it well and that it becomes a great resource for our community.
When we were seated, two other tables that arrived after us were served first. I went up to whom I believe was the owner to make him aware that no one had even come by to greet us and he was very proactive. We had a server to our table almost immediately afterwards. However, about midway through out brunch, the same gentleman (who I believe is the owner) started flying a drone below where we were seated. I found it to be a bit inappropriate and distracting. I realize he likely wanted to take aerial photos of the outdoor deck space where we were seated, but I didn’t find it to be appropriate. They need a bit of work on their overall hospitality.
Great location, food, and service - look forward to see what good things are in store for Skylaranna
Seated outside with no candle or light so asked to be moved inside once it got dark. Two of the dishes I ordered (petit filet and Brie fondue) they were both sold out of so I ordered shrimp and grits which was decent but not great. Overall a little disappointed.
We had our anniversary dinner here. The view on the new patio is beautiful and it is a perfect place to watch the sunset. Dani was our server as well as bartender. She was great and attended to all her tables and the bar without making us wait for her. It is pricey, but the food and wine were delicious!
Arrived on time for our 6:30pm reservation, but it was overbooked and were not seated until after 7pm. Took almost 15 minutes to get a menu or drink order, and took another 15+ minutes to place a food order.
Ordered the fondue, which was pretty solid overall (although the vegetables used didn't make sense, like carrot and celery). B+
Ordered the skirt steak churrasco, which had no sear and was underseasoned, a bland gravy on top and disappointing chimichurri. Highly disappointed, especially considering the $29 price. F
We also ordered the filet, which again was underseasoned and had no sear (it's like they just tossed it in the oven). F
Did not wait to try dessert, seeing as the rest of the experience was very underwhelming.
For the steak dishes that we ordered, you'd be better off going to texas roadhouse or just about any other steak place and get better quality for 1/3 or 1/2 the price.
Our main waiter was very slow in even getting us silverware, and wasn't even correctly wearing their mask half of the time. We ended up mostly relying on another waiter to get us the things we needed as we couldn't even get a hold of our main waiter.
Layout of the dining area is odd as it's a converted house/boarding school. Acoustics make the dining room very noisy, as we could hear someone's child playing loud cell phone games from 4 tables away (even over the background chatter). Aside from the construction going on, it did have a pretty scenic view.
Staff seemed clearly overwhelmed, and the person in charge of bookings should probably find a new job. Food was disappointing considering the offerings of the Asheville/Hendersonville area, and the relatively high asking prices. Best case scenario, we would only come back for a cocktail/wine and maybe an appetizer. Otherwise this is extremely poor value for money and time spent. Overall very sad and disappointed, seeing as we live local and are very close by. Better off driving 30-45 minutes away anywhere else.
Seafood w/grits dinner was not as good as expected. Sauce on top of seafood was odd...different. I think we should've been given salad with dinner for the price.
Our reservation was at 7 and we didn’t get sat until 8pm. We understood because the manager stated there was a bad accident nearby, however, an hour is a long time. We then get sat, order, and the waitress forgets my salad. Seeing as we waited forever, I was hungry! And never got the first course. The food was mediocre and I was bummed there weren’t any vegetarian dishes. The chef did make a decent one, however, the rice was hard and it came out on the cold side. The views were pretty and the old fashioned was tasty, but we certainly won’t be going back.
It was an exquisite moment eating here with my daughter Rachel & son in law Matt Karst!
Everything was cooked perfect and served hot to!
Bread & butter and salads were great starting off with...
Pork chop is a heavenly dish, seafood and grits and braised chicken excellent!
Suggest trying this place for anniversary or special occasion!
Key lime pie was great and chocolate tart was super as well.

We had great experiences in the past so we chose Elevations for dinner on Mother's Day weekend. My parents drove up from Florida and we had reservations. A very large party came in about an hour into our meal and it didn't seem like they had reservations based on all the chatter with the manager that was taking place. From that point, everything was rushed and no sooner than the last desert went down did the check arrive and the manager asked us to leave because they had to accommodate another party! Sadly, it feels like all the construction on-site and increased traffic is taking what was a great restaurant down another path. Very hard to recommend now that food quality has declined and service has landed in the toilet. Sadly, it appears that another one bites the dust...
A party of 6 enjoyed the delicious entrees at this new and upcoming restaurant. Everyone commented how well cooked, tasty and filling their meals were. Recommend the pork chops and skirt steak.
I think this will grow and become a very nice restaurant. The staff were super helpful and friendly. The environment was really nice - casual and fun. And given that this is a restaurant within a newly developing resort - I will be looking forward to trying it again. The food was just ok. Nicely presented. However, most of it was just way too over salted. I had the salmon (best meal of the four of us). The pork chop and burger needed much less salt to be able to taste flavors. The charcuterie plate was quite good, as was the pork belly (which is supposed to be salty -but even it was a bit too much). I'm going to click "yes" on recommend to a friend, because I think it has great potential. I don't think I would recommend it yet given the price of food.
Need more variety on the menu....great location......drinks pricey.....no jalapeño for $15 margarita.....no Parmesan cheese for grits and shrimp....need more appetizers and salads!
Great concept.....just need more variety......pasta.......
This was our first time at Elevations and we will definitely be back! Wonderful service and amazing food & drinks!!
Took my mom for her 79th birthday. Mark the waiter was polite and attentive. Sprinkled red rose petals on table and wished her a happy birthday. Recommended the pork belly appetizer and filet—both were divine!! We also had the shaved Brussel sprout salad, double cut pork chop, and shellfish and grits. All of it was AMAZING!! The chef really has skill and the food came out relatively quick. The grits were full of cream and tasted as if they were stone ground with grains that were of some size but oh so tender.
I plan to bring my husband when we come back to Asheville.
Overall good meal and service
Because the restaurant is all in an open room we found it quite noisy. There was a family next to us with a young very loud and talkative child. I found it very annoying since we ordered a bottle of wine and were hoping to have a much quieter experience. A friend had told me she found it quite noisy when she was there as well.
Food was outstanding but very expensive. Service was excellent, and the dining room was quiet, so conversing at the table was easy. Elevations doesn’t serve soup or salads of any kind, which we thought was strange. Although burgers were listed on the menu, they were not available the night we were there. They weren’t sold out; Elevations just wasn’t serving them that night, which we found strange. The menu is rather limited. It was $32 for a petite filet mignon accompanied by a couple of tablespoons of mashed potatoes with gravy; at that kind of price, Elevations will be a very rare treat.
Amazing food and our waitress was knowledgeable and provided terrific service. We will definitely be back!
