Elevation Chop House and Skybar Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I eat out a lot and have certain expectations of the restaurants we choose when it comes to the food - especially when it is $$$ or more. We were blown away out how good the scallops and lamp lollipops were! Compliments to the chef for absolutely nailing it that night!
The location is nice and we had a great view. I just hate we didn’t have the opportunity to see some of the planes take off.... as for the experience it was poor. We didn’t have any bread and when i began looking for out waitress she was was on her phone. Some of the food was cold and had to be sent back. We were missing utensils. The cocktails were great. The food was okay and service could have been much better. The price point and service /quality do not mesh. I will not be returning
For what we paid for the night, I was not very pleased. First of all they had a fixed menu and it was very over priced and it forced me to get food that we didn’t really want and it cost me $80 per person...then my fiancé’s steak was not cooked to request...we sent it back and it came back still not cooked correctly. Mashed potatoes and veggies were cold. Didn’t feel like sending it back again. Our waiter was really nice and took great care of us. The setting and view was really nice. Drinks were good and the cheesecake was good as well.
Overall, the food was not worth paying $180+...if prices were better and food was actually cooked correctly then I would think about coming in again. Great location and ambiance but that’s about it.
Tink was our waitress and she was AWESOME! You never know what to expect when bringing kids out to a nicer restaurant and let's face it, you bring kids to Elevation the same reason that adults come out, it sits on the Apron of the Runway.
This was not our first visit to Elevation, but by far the best and the five stars do not give our server justice. Despite having two toddlers, Tink took care of things without us having to ask and anticipated our needs. She connected with the kids and made everybody feel at ease, at least until the next "Airplane, Airplane, Airplane."
The serving sizes never seem to disappoint and this is definitely not the place for a quick bite unless you want to leave lots of food on the plate. So dig in, make sure you have FlightAware on your phone to see where these planes are going and be prepared for an excellent meal with a great experience.
Celebrated my wife’s birthday along with our son...great meal, awesome dining experience!! Waitress was terrific and food was outstanding! They brought cheesecake for my wife with happy birthday written on plate in raspberry sauce, delicious...and no annoying birthday song!! Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!
I was so excited to come to this restaurant since last year. I read the reviews on Yelp that it was a hit/miss. The hostess was excellent as well as the waitress. I was looking forward to the misty drinks (liquid nitrogen marinis). The bartender was less than enthused in mixing the drink. He didn't give us an explanation of what he was doing. He should've just stayed home. I also work with people and I make sure it is about customer service. The food was okay. i ordered a steak and fries. The fries were better than the steak. My husband ordered the grill salmon. He looked liked they preheated it. He suffered that night by going to the restroom several times during the night.
I will not be going back.
We had been meaning to try Elevation Chop House for quite some time. It was a surprising active fun spot. The spinach dip was the best spinach dip we’ve ever had. Both the crispy duck and the lamb lollipops were delicious. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Overall it was a fun spot with Delicious food and will be sure to return.
I had been looking forward to eating here for two years. And for all my excitement this was the worst dining experience of my life. I wish I could tell you that I spoke with the manager and he was intent on correcting the issues, nope, the manager asked the hostess to tell me that he was very busy in the kitchen and could take the time to hear about the horrible experience we had in his establishment. He cowardly left it up to the waitress to hear about our night and make the apologies for him. My wife and I went for a date night on a Thursday night to avoid the crowds. We made a reservation online before leaving the house and also called on our way there. I asked about the wait and the hostess told me the wait was about 15 minutes even if you did not have a reservation. When our time came and went, I asked about the situation. I was told they were waiting on tables even though there were 7 empty tables on the first level of the restaurant. I asked the hostess to be honest and if the problem was a lack of servers for the tables just say so. She said there was a lack of servers for the evening but the real problem was slow service out of the kitchen. The kitchen was so backed up that they were not seating people, even with reservations, because the kitchen wait would be extensive. When we were finally seated we were warned, there were only two servers for the entire first floor. What a way to start. One of the first things my wife noticed is that the menu in the restaurant does not match the menu on their website. The item my wife had selected from the website she wanted was not on the menu at all. From the time we ordered it took 45 minutes to get our food. And then it wasn't correct and the food was lukewarm!!! My wife ordered the scallops and for $26 dollars she received three scallops! That is correct, three scallops. Overall, the food is overpriced, the "chef" is a joke, and the staff do not care.
In the past we have had a good experience at this restaurant, but the last two times I have visited, something has gone wrong with the food on the dinner menu. This time it was the brisket. But it does have some great drinks and the bartenders are friendly. Perhaps go with the bar food or appetizers.
We enjoyed the view to the runway and Kennesaw Mountain. We went for Sunday brunch. Great atmosphere and bar area. I would recommend. I did have an omelette though and found the ham to be very fatty. I would just choose another dish next time. Fun for a change from everyday view.
I don’t know if they are under new ownership or not, but the food has gotten much worse since we last came. The brunch items were bland and over cooked and they closed the upstairs section so we didn’t even get the benefit of the flight viewing for ambience. They crammed all guests in a small section of the downstairs; not sure if they were short staffed or if that’s their new model, but we won’t be back. So sad, we used to love coming here for Sunday brunch!
Very nice restaurant. It was my first time and I really enjoyed it. Amy was awesome. The food was good. I can’t afford to eat here every week but for a celebration it is worth the price. I recommend taking a sweater/jacket because it was cold. Watching planes take off and land was nice. Overall very pleased.
This was our second time here and both tomes we had issues.
Here are the issues we had this time:
1) My wife's shrimp dinner was not hot!
2) My $35 steak was under cooked!
3) The baked potato they brought me was not done, and upon further investigation, they didn't have any that were done; so I did not have a potato with my steak!
4) My wife and I both ordered the roasted cauliflower, it was almost like eating raw cauliflower as it was cold and not cooked enough!
I did speak with the manager at the end of our meal and he did apologize and he removed the $35 steak form our ticket. We may try again sometime in the future, but if it gets a third strike out of three tries, then that's it.
Wonderful, vibrant atmosphere. Innovative nitrogen enhanced cocktails, variety of entrees and wonderful steak options. Prompt, courteous wait and bar staff. Perfectly prepared entrees with accompanying sides. Sophisticated clientele, great setting. Pricy but well worth it.
This was NOT out topical Elevations experience. Had a miss on drink order, bread didn't show up until our entrees did, and we had a hard time getting out check at the end. Going to chalk this one up to an off night. We'll definitely go back, and even an off night still earns 4 stars!!
