Elevation Chop House and Skybar Ratings and Reviews
We had been meaning to try Elevation Chop House for quite some time. It was a surprising active fun spot. The spinach dip was the best spinach dip we’ve ever had. Both the crispy duck and the lamb lollipops were delicious. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Overall it was a fun spot with Delicious food and will be sure to return.
I had been looking forward to eating here for two years. And for all my excitement this was the worst dining experience of my life. I wish I could tell you that I spoke with the manager and he was intent on correcting the issues, nope, the manager asked the hostess to tell me that he was very busy in the kitchen and could take the time to hear about the horrible experience we had in his establishment. He cowardly left it up to the waitress to hear about our night and make the apologies for him. My wife and I went for a date night on a Thursday night to avoid the crowds. We made a reservation online before leaving the house and also called on our way there. I asked about the wait and the hostess told me the wait was about 15 minutes even if you did not have a reservation. When our time came and went, I asked about the situation. I was told they were waiting on tables even though there were 7 empty tables on the first level of the restaurant. I asked the hostess to be honest and if the problem was a lack of servers for the tables just say so. She said there was a lack of servers for the evening but the real problem was slow service out of the kitchen. The kitchen was so backed up that they were not seating people, even with reservations, because the kitchen wait would be extensive. When we were finally seated we were warned, there were only two servers for the entire first floor. What a way to start. One of the first things my wife noticed is that the menu in the restaurant does not match the menu on their website. The item my wife had selected from the website she wanted was not on the menu at all. From the time we ordered it took 45 minutes to get our food. And then it wasn't correct and the food was lukewarm!!! My wife ordered the scallops and for $26 dollars she received three scallops! That is correct, three scallops. Overall, the food is overpriced, the "chef" is a joke, and the staff do not care.
In the past we have had a good experience at this restaurant, but the last two times I have visited, something has gone wrong with the food on the dinner menu. This time it was the brisket. But it does have some great drinks and the bartenders are friendly. Perhaps go with the bar food or appetizers.
We enjoyed the view to the runway and Kennesaw Mountain. We went for Sunday brunch. Great atmosphere and bar area. I would recommend. I did have an omelette though and found the ham to be very fatty. I would just choose another dish next time. Fun for a change from everyday view.
I don’t know if they are under new ownership or not, but the food has gotten much worse since we last came. The brunch items were bland and over cooked and they closed the upstairs section so we didn’t even get the benefit of the flight viewing for ambience. They crammed all guests in a small section of the downstairs; not sure if they were short staffed or if that’s their new model, but we won’t be back. So sad, we used to love coming here for Sunday brunch!
Very nice restaurant. It was my first time and I really enjoyed it. Amy was awesome. The food was good. I can’t afford to eat here every week but for a celebration it is worth the price. I recommend taking a sweater/jacket because it was cold. Watching planes take off and land was nice. Overall very pleased.
This was our second time here and both tomes we had issues.
Here are the issues we had this time:
1) My wife's shrimp dinner was not hot!
2) My $35 steak was under cooked!
3) The baked potato they brought me was not done, and upon further investigation, they didn't have any that were done; so I did not have a potato with my steak!
4) My wife and I both ordered the roasted cauliflower, it was almost like eating raw cauliflower as it was cold and not cooked enough!
I did speak with the manager at the end of our meal and he did apologize and he removed the $35 steak form our ticket. We may try again sometime in the future, but if it gets a third strike out of three tries, then that's it.
Wonderful, vibrant atmosphere. Innovative nitrogen enhanced cocktails, variety of entrees and wonderful steak options. Prompt, courteous wait and bar staff. Perfectly prepared entrees with accompanying sides. Sophisticated clientele, great setting. Pricy but well worth it.
This was NOT out topical Elevations experience. Had a miss on drink order, bread didn't show up until our entrees did, and we had a hard time getting out check at the end. Going to chalk this one up to an off night. We'll definitely go back, and even an off night still earns 4 stars!!
Don’t waste your time and money. There were two other couples yet it took nearly two hours for an appetizer and entree. Ribeye was ordered medium rare. Came out well done. Sent it back requesting no sauce. Came out swimming in sauce. Sent it back and came back with one side wiped with a towel or paper towel. The other side was still soaked in the sauce. The fries were the same fries that had traveled with the original plate. COLD. My wife was done eating her meal before I took the first bite. The steak was virtually inedible. The picture is what I could not cut or eat. To their credit they did not charge for the steak and gave us a desert to go.
I went with my parents, 10 year old son and brother and sister in law. We had the filet mignon and it melted in my mouth!! The Mac and cheese was some of the best I’ve ever tasted. It was on the pricy side, but filets are not cheap and it was a special occasion. I’d say the bill fit the meal. I am definitely going back.
Food was good but it took a long time to get someone to even ask us what we wanted to drink. Bread was never offered and it took forever to get our drinks. Since there was only one other table being served and many servers just walking around we complained. From that point on service was very good.
I I’m back in the area I would give them another chance
The restaurant affords a good view of McCollum airport. Request a seat near or at the window. We had the seafood special of the evening which was very good along with the Asia Short ribs as an app. They're known for their nitro cocktails which are interesting to watch being made but taste the same as a cocktail made with ice.
This experience was totally unexpected. For transportation enthusiasts this is a must. Imagine sitting enjoying a wonderful meal as you watch planes land and take off just a few feet away. Very relaxing, the food is simply amazing, and the nitrogen beverages are top shelf. A wonderful experience all the way around.
We came to celebrate my boyfriend's Birthday. Initially our reservation was for 7:30 but I called about 6:50 to change to 8 and they accommodated us. The time for a table by the window took about 15-20 mins otherwise we may have been seated I about 5 or 10 from the time we got there. Our server was attentive and took our order but it took almost an hour for the food to come out. The portions are smaller than I expected and my steak was tough and not seasoned that well. The duck was good. Once I started passing out gifts, our server brought my boyfriend a free cheese cake with "Happy Birthday" on the plate since we waited so long. The restaurant was beautiful and the planes taking off was a nice touch.
The food was great. The service was very good as well I think we're the only thing that negatively impacted our evening which it didn't impact or evening was it seem to take a very long time for the food to get from the kitchen to our table the restaurant was not overly crowded and it still seem to take a very long time to get both the appetizers and the main deal m was very good as well I think we're the only thing that negatively impacted our evening which it did impact or evening was it seemed to take a very long time for the food to get from the kitchen to our table. It may have helped if they would've been some bread on the table or something small to pick at while we waited for appetizers to come .
Front row view of runway and tasty food=Happy Pilot
We have dinner about once a quarter, flying in from south of ATL. Have found service to be consistently good, food to be consistently good as well. Our favorites are the Key Lime Caesar and house-made burger with bacon and cheddar cheese. While I will occasionally have the nitrogen margarita, it's a splurge.
