Elevation at Embassy suites by Hilton Pittsburgh
I met a friend for lunch last week. The restaurant was very quiet with only a few other diners. Our waiter was very loquacious and entertaining but disappeared when it was time to pay our bill and get back to work. I had to go to the front desk for someone to track him down. Oh, the food, was quite good for lunch. I had a house salad and shrimp taco which were better than average
We expected and asked for a real restaurant but got a bar instead. Fine for casual bar food but not great for a dinner experience.
When we arrived at the hotel 25th floor we could not find the restaurant. You see st the same time was the Embassy Suites happy hour buffet and free drinks and there were lines to get food and drink. We finally got past the crowd and there were a few tables and booths - no table settings. We asked a host if this was the Elevations restaurant and he said yes. I told him we had a reservation for 4 and he did not care and said sit anywhere. He did offer us to use the buffet and bar for free - I guess no one outside of hotel guests eve come here! We got paper menus and one had the name of the bar next door. Prices were quite high and options were limited. We finally ordered and had to ask for silverware. My cloth napkin had black stains so I asked for another. Our food arrived and thankfully it was tasty by we just got burgers and shrimp tacos since we did not think this would be a place for fine dining!
