Élevage features a menu so well-crafted it recalls the past but lives fully in the present. Located in the food-focused Epicurean Hotel and developed out of Bern's Steak House traditions, we continue to do things differently with great pride and passion. The concept of “Nostalgia meets Nouveau” is embodied in every element; down to the décor of reclaimed wood and industrial accents.
Join us for a hand-crafted beverage experience at Élevage Bar and EDGE Social Drinkery. Our world class wine list is curated from the Bern's family, and our craft beer selection is locally inspired. We invite you to Awaken Appetites Unknown!

Élevage at Epicurean Hotel Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I celebrated reaching our 17 year milestone with a dinner at Elevage on Friday. Knowing of its association with Berns, our expectations for the experience were high and we were not disappointed. Our server, Jorge Bolivar, succeeded in making us feel welcome and pampered throughout our 3 course dinner. He was always at the ready as we enjoyed our savory porterhouse steak and lamb dishes. The portions were so generous we had to take some home with us. We were delighted to be surprised with a hand written happy anniversary card from the staff (nice touch!) and 2 complimentary glasses of port to enjoy with our fab dessert. Needless to say, we will be returning and we hope Jorge will be our server when we do.
Saturday morning brunch after an overnight international flight. Friendly hostess seated us right away.
Once we were seated our waitress took our drink orders (coffee, tea, Bloody Mary, and a mimosa) and filled our water glasses. Within 5-10 min she promptly took our orders.
After about 20 min our bus-woman refilled our water as we chatted a bit, enjoyed the ambiance, and tried not to stare at the people at the nearby tables which was a little difficult given the tension coming from the largest and closest one.
At about the 40 min mark we hadn’t seen our waitress since our orders were taken or any staff except the hostess as she guided guests to far away tables.
At the 50 min mark the matriarch of the table next to us got up and hunted down the manager whom she walked back to right behind my husband and proceeded to list out the very inadequate service her family had received with 5 entrées trickling out for over 30 min and her husband’s hamburger still missing. Within the next 5 min he had his burger.
Once we hit the 65 min mark our food came. My husbands pulled pork poutine started okay but after a few bites of the fries on top the rest of the mound was mushy and lukewarm as though it had just been sitting out. My eggs Benedict were salty. Like my mouth puckered and I reached for my long empty water glass to suck on some ice salty. I’m not sure if someone had accidentally spilled excess salt in the spinach or if it was just too thick of a slice of heavily cured ham but it wasn’t all that pleasant. The home fries were definitely on the burnt side.
After we finished about a third of our food the coffee, tea, and cocktails arrived. The mimosa was flat so my husband just gave up on it. The Bloody Mary was average. Coffee was cold. Tea was average.
Overall a disappointment. After we left and got more than a thimble of caffeine at Starbucks we laughed and agreed the only really good bit was the bacon from my drink.
The Elevage Lounge is the best value for Happy Hour drinks and appetizers I have ever encountered. Our meal at Elevage, snapper for two, could have been snapper for four and could not have been better. I recommend Elevage without reservation. Absolutely 5-stars!
We came in for Sat lunch and discovered they only had brunch at this time. We stayed and i throughly enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits. He had the piroge dish and just about licked the plate! Service was average. No complaints really, just a little slow to refill drinks.
Staff is not trained, food was better this time. The place was empty yet it was so hard to make a reservation 2 weeks in advance because they had to check with management to reserve a table for 9. They told my daughter they were going to charge us $3 per person to slice my wife’s 50th birthday cake and they told us we couldn’t bring balloons and flowers. Just eat the $18 steak sandwich so you won’t be disappointed.
We attended Elevage for the first time and based on the fact it is located in The Epicurean Hotel and associated with Bern's Steakhouse we were really looking forward to an first class meal. We cannot say enough about the outstanding service we received, as the entire staff was wonderful and very attentive. We were somewhat disappointed in the filet minion that one of us ordered, as it was not very flavorful and was just average to say the least. Better steaks have been had at lesser restaurants for far less. Overall we did enjoy our experience at Elevage and would go back again for another try because we really enjoyed the atmosphere and service!
I've been to Elevage a few times over the last year. This venue is awesome as it is wine and food themed. I love their rooftop bar, but happy hour is only observed at the bar downstairs which can get crowded, but is super fun. I highly recommend the Brunch tasting menu (Bring 3 people so you can all order everything and share). The staff is attentive, helpful and friendly. I have not done dinner here yet, but will be back! I have to tell you I don't like eggs, but I ordered a scrambled egg the first time I was there and it may be the best egg I've ever eaten. Good for a date, a friend's get together, birthdays or special occasions. I'd be there all the time if I was in South Tampa!
Service overall was nice. But after a somewhat terrible steak that we paid over $100 for i am definitely NOT going to ever recommend this place. They start with the is a "Berns" steak... then I spend 45 minutes waiting for what I think will be a phenomenal steak...i can barely cut the steak with the amount of grizzle and fat and there was no flavor on the actual meat. I have not been to Berns but if it is like this I will not ever go and I will not pay the money to eat here when I can spend it somewhere else where I can enjoy the food!
Excellent food. They swung and missed in a few areas that I don't think are the norm: my wife's mushroom soup was not hot, not warm, but cold. When questioned about it they replaced it and apologized immediately. They also took it off the bill. The noise level was a lot higher than you would expect at a place like this. It could be a romantic place, but it was too loud for normal conversations on the Sat. night we dined there. On a few of the sides, they seemed to try too hard: the Brussel sprouts for example: already a bitter food. They soak in balsamic and add bacon, which is fine, but then they add walnuts? A very bitter nut. Not sure what the idea was there. Seems like everyone has now left pine nuts and add walnuts to everything. It was a poor pairing. My filet was pure heaven, as was my tomato soup. Excellent food, excellent experience, and service that was expected for a place of this caliber.
Best food ever!! T bones was more flavorful than Bern's. Loved Chili Oysters, Deviled eggs. Calamari was too limey for our tastes. Mushroom bisque was fabulous... and then I tried hubbys GERMAN POTATO SOUP. OMG, it is was so good!! Creamed spinach & mascarpone potatoes were done just right. So we were too ful to order dessert. Or so I thought.... Just had to try the "pumpkin lava bread." We ate until were stuffed. Not sure how often we can go back as there are way too many things on the menu that we liked. But we will be back this week. It will now be on our go to favs for dinner.
We came for our first anniversary. We didn't have high expectations as we hadn't heard anything good or bad about it. We were very happy with our experience! We started out with the bread basket which was good. Next, I ordered the frenh onion soup. It is VERY smokey! It was good, but likely wouldn't order again. For our meals my husband ordered the steak sandwich and onion rings, and I had the ceasar salad with chorizo. I really enjoyed mine, but the star of the show was my husband's meal. Best onion rings I've ever had, and his steak sandwich was excellent. I'm sure we will be back again!
Great place for a great meal. I've never had a bad experience. I've dined here for special occasions or just to relax and every experience has been wonderful. Jennica is the best. Very attentive and helpful. I would recommend it for any occasion. I'll be back.
We were welcomed by Bridget and she was extremely gracious. Our server was Joel and he did an amazing job, always checked on us but not too much.
I had indicated to the restaurant that we were celebrating our anniversary and they absolutely blew us away by going out of their way to help us celebrate. They brought us Champagne to start the evening and then followed dinner with an after dinner liquor.
When Joel returned with our check he gave my wife a card that was a handwritten happy anniversary from the staff at Elevage. Wow! Extremely professional and we will absolutely be back. What an impression they made on these first time customers!
We celebrated our 26th anniversary at Elevage, and noted in our reservation request that we had a show to get to. We were seated right away, and our server wished us a happy anniversary and mentioned that he understood we had show tickets and would make sure we stayed on time. He then brought us a couple of complimentary glasses of champagne! We enjoyed the Snapper for 2 and had plenty left over. Everyone was very friendly. We will definitely be back!
We love this place and the food is great. The waiters should stop trying to be sommeliers when they're not. I've recently had 3 very different and fruity wines described to me as "earthy". Sounds more like they learned a new word than they actually knew what they were describing. Funny but unnecessary.
From beginning to end, Elevage lived up to the hype and reviews. The food was incredible, and the service was excellent. Tiffany, in particular, is a valuable asset as a client-focused server who truly seems to love what she does.
Elevage has become our go to for celebratory occasions and did not disappoint for our wedding anniversary celebration.
Jorge gave exemplary service and was pleasant and appropriately attentive. Thanks for the card and the celebratory cava!
Only one niggle...the bread basket was not up to it's usual standard....bread was stale. Otherwise, the vichysoisse, Homage do Bern's sandwich and the salmon grenoblaise were outstanding!!!
See you soon.
