Our server was great. Brussel sprouts starter was outstanding! Portion size for the kids meals were huge and wish we had them share. I did not care for the slum dog. Sounded interesting but ended up just not being the right dish for me. Husband enjoyed the fish and chips.

The ambience was perfect. Food is a notch above. The service is great. Elephant & Castle is nestled down below street level, so you feel transported to a calm destination from the hustle and bustle of the streets and traffic above ground. You just don't see it. Visited 3 times and can't wait to go back. Plenty of TV's to feel like a Sports bar, yet some tables are around corner's if you want a less distracted experience. Don't forget to check out the billiards room tucked down another level. My son was excited to discover this place and instantly began planning an evening with the buddies. The service never waivered, no matter how busy they were. Looking forward to my next visit.

It’s a English style pub restaurant. Excellent service. Ivan was attentive and quick. Portions are large, delicious, and quickly served. Many TVs around to allow for viewing sports. Follow the steps under the Hilton Motif entry.

The menu, while different and inviting, fails. The pot pie “flight” was primarily undercooked dough. We ordered two appetizers but only one materialized. Had to wait for silverware. Overall impression was a pub trying to be a sports bar and missing the mark on both.

We always enjoy our visits to the Elephant & Castle. Food is alway delicious and the Staff always friendly! This visit though a few things were off…our waiter did not know what a Shandy was (popular English beverage), he let our drinks sit at the bar for 5+ minutes, and they were out of bangers and mash. I did not think the bar/restaurant was overly busy or understaffed. We’ll be back just slightly disappointed this visit.

This was my first visit. Fish & Chips are fantastic! Unfortunately, very slow service. We were seated for about 15 minutes before we were acknowledged, after we placed our order it took about 30 minutes to get our food.

We were a party of four. We all ordered something different. My sons flat bread pizza came and it was not cut, we could not even pull off pieces. When I asked the server if he could have them cut it he seemed like it was a nuisance. The other food was all bland and not very appetizing. The one thing we did enjoy were the fried pickles.

This was our first visit and it will be our last. We went there for my sweetheart’s birthday, and made sure to note it in our reservation. My girl is also a British citizen and so visiting a pub, on her birthday, on St. Patrick’s Day made perfect sense. But the experience was poor. The service was slow and inconsistent. At one point the server took away a partially filled flask of wine. We had to go to the concierge to remedy the issue. Our appetizer arrived but they didn’t give us silverware to eat it and I had to get the concierge to get it for us. The fried pickles were ok and the fish and chips were fine but not very British. Lastly it took extra effort to get our bill. And there was never a mention of the special event of the birthday event though we opened cards at the table. So just a not fun experience. No need to go back. BTW, we live 5 block from there so they’ve lost a potential regular customer. Oh well. Hopefully you have a better experience if you go there.

Decent bar/pub food. Ale and onion soup was bland other than the strong ale flavor. Wanted to order Sunday Roast but they were out of mashed potatoes. Chicken pot pie was good. Husband said Fish and chips were good but had lots and lots of batter/breading. Busy because of Comic Con so long wait time for food but our fantastic server kept us unformed.

We came for lunch before a matinee at 5th Ave. We were able to be seated earlier than our reservation time and had a better experience than I expected considering it’s a pub and the pre-show crowds. Vale for money was good and food all tasted great! We had the pot pie flight, chicken wings, pretzel bites (cheese sauce had mustard in it), French onion soup, fish and chips, bread pudding and drinks - all fantastic!!! Only drawbacks were staffing seemed short (not the fault of those there working their tails off) and kitchen backed up. It was surprisingly quieter than it should have been, too. We will be back!!!

I ordered the beef & mushroom pie & was like they forgot the beef. Maybe 1 small piece of beef & rest was mushrooms.
