The Lucan locals can get their Elephant & Castle fix at the Foxhunter pub, located just off the N4 and with our outdoor dog friendly seating, delicious food and indoor kids play area, it’s the perfect spot for the whole herd!

Whether you are looking to throw a corporate event, celebrate a special occasion or anything in-between, our Elm Room is equipped with a private bar and bathrooms along with a large, heated terrace area with plenty of seating. For bookings for parties of 60 or less for seated and 100 or less for standing events

    I’ve been satisfied every time I’ve went but luckily that was because it wasn’t busy, went down with the family per usual. Now it was a busy Saturday, only ordered half portion of wings for myself and it took ages to come and once it came it was actually cold. I didn’t have patience to wait again and I could tell they fried it multiple times because they were rock solid…. the kids play area is the main reason I come. Having to find out at the end that older kids are bullying the smaller children. My 4 year old came out with a massive bruise on his head because an 8 year old kept hitting him inside… maybe have an age limit? Now not to sound like a Karen but it was such a nuisance having random people from across the room come up to our table while we were eating to hang their coats and dresses beside me? Overall the place seems to not be able to manage in busy times with food, taking orders and especially the crowd.

    Hi Ari We are disappointed you didn't enjoy your visit.Our food is cooked to order but we would have replaced your wings happily for you.Regarding the play area we have signs displaying the need for parents to be with their children in the play area at all times to avoid problems.I apologize for the issue with the coats and would have intervened for you.     We traveled to bring my daughter for a celebration dinner as it's her favorite restaurant. We found the last time we went it wasn't great but maybe it was just a once off, it wasn't it's worse now. Nearly €7 for mash and gravy for a baby, near a 10 min wait between each one of us getting served our food there was only 4 of us!

    First time in this branch of Elephant and Castle, great place for families with kids. My kids loved the play area. Food was lovely, great chicken wings, good portion sizes too. Very friendly staff

    We visit here a few times a year and yesterday's visit was left us disappointed. The service was poor, we witnessed several tables getting the wrong food. When my food came I was missing bacon on my burger, the server came back less that a minute later with cold pre cooked tasteless bacon added! My chips were not cooked and the portion size was very small compared to previous visits! One of our party had loaded fries which were no more loaded than a sprinkle of grated cheese. The portion size of wings for mains was a starter portion with two large pieces if celery passed off a mains portion. As a family of four, it would be a place that we always think about visiting for food as the past visits have been very good. We will think again before we book in the future.

    First time here. Staff were exceptionally friendly but under huge pressure as short staffed. As a result, huge delays in getting orders and food was cold when arrived. It was expensive for what was in offer.

    Food tasty. Service ok until we had to wait a long time for desserts and had finished coffee when they came. On the whole, a decent experience

    Food was amazing, the kids loved it! Portion sizes are really great! Especially for children & the fact there is a play area for the children it’s amazing! The staff were lovely, there was a small mix up but it was handled really professionally and calm friendly manner! We had no issues at all will definitely be coming back again!

    We really love going to elephant and castle. The staff are always pleasant, the food good and a play area which the kids love. In this instance the cooking service really let them down. Adult meals came out before the kids meals (this was even after having starters for the adults so the kids were hungry). We were told it would be 3/4 mins. It was more like a 15 minute wait... obviously they'd forgotten to cook the kids meals. Has we been told this we could have sent the kids back to play and managed their expectations rather than saying the whole time no stay as we were told it will be here in a minute. Our server did apologise when it arrived and she was very nice. However it made our dining experience very difficult as it was also our first time going with twin 10 month olds who had had enough of sitting in the high chair by that time so has to be taken out and managed on our laps for the rest of our mealtime. I'm not sure we'd rush back again as we like to go where the service will be quick due to having two young babies and this can no longer be relied on there.

    Food was cold, children’s burger was burnt and the “Mexican salad” had no avacado and about three crumbled nachos. When mentioned to staff they simply said sorry and that was it…….
