Excellent food and service. Great place for lunch. Busy, so make a reservation.
Food was great, price was reasonable. My waitress was not very enthusiastic and she disappeared for so long I had to go up to the bar and ask for my bill, so I could pay and be on my way.
I'm big fan of Elephant and Castle. really great English pub food. On this visit I had the Yorkshire Pudding which was tender and flavorful. My friend had a Beyond Meat cheeseburger topped with a fried egg, which she thought was terrific. She also enjoyed her sweet potato fries. service was a little slower than I would have liked, given that it was fairly quiet. But our waiter was very pleasant. I will definitely continue to frequent and recommend Elephant and Castle.
Had the Ruben. Not bad - Ok, but nothing special.
I made a reservation for a party of 6 only to show up to a sign saying they were closed. The restaurant accepted my reservations and wasn’t open. I brought my employees to a lunch for a holiday thank you and was mortified that we couldn’t even get in. I had to scramble at the last minute to find a restaurant that could accommodate us. This is inexcusable.
Order from the classic menu. There are great options that you can't get just anywhere. Appetizer, entree and drink will put you at $30. Great price point for Downtown Chicago for real food.
We went for my fiancé’s birthday dinner before a show and it was perfect! Loved the English and Indian inspired food options.
Don’t plan on a large party it’s hard to accommodate
Excellent lunch location. Food, service, ambience are all great.
Probably a good place to get after work drinks and apps, but our dinners were terrible. Shepherds pie was greasy and flavorless, and chicken pot pie was just chunks of rubbery meat in a watery gravy. If you’re looking for a decent dinner look elsewhere.
Wonderful place. Food is delicious, service very good. Always a great choice for lunch.
Great meal and service
Just fair. Nothing outstanding. We were hungry and they had food.
2 in my party had burgers and had fish and chips. All the food was excellent! Big ben brownie is huge and quite tasty! The service was good! It was a Saturday night so there was some people drinking but it was definitely a relaxed environment.
We were there on a Friday at 6:30. It was packed. It was loud, but I appreciated the energy. We were on our way to a concert, so it fit the evening. Food was good. Service was excellent. This place is a gem!
Good food and services.
The wait staff was excellent and so was the food! The ambiance was great, just like a pub.
Service and food was great but too many mussels didn’t open when we were served to the table (6 or more) and we had to send them back. Mussels shouldn’t be served closed.
Never ate a wrap I didn’t like until today. Chicken caesar wrap was terrible. Chicken appeared to be from worst parts of the bird. Truly awful.
We ordered appetizers that never arrived but they gave us a free dessert so there's that
Met a friend here for lunch and its was crowded, which is good. We ordered some wings, shrimp and potatoes fries. We had to send back the wings due to being under cooked, the tasted as if they were frozen and microwaved. But the shrimp was delicious! I would come back again..
I was underwhelmed by this establishment. The fish and chips I ordered arrived with one large piece of fish and steak fries. The fish was average at best. Fries were good and I liked the horseradish laced tartar sauce. I was disappointed with their draft choices for happy hour. Only main line beers, and few at that. Our server was very good. Best part of the meal.
Excellent food, friendly and EXTREMELY fast service. The food came within 10 minutes of ordering it.
We went before the theater. Service was great and efficient. Server was pleasant. Hostess was accommodating.
Food was delicious and the right temperature. Dessert was decadent. Beer selection was good.
We had the Shepherds Pie and Yorkshire pudding. Dessert was bread pudding.
Pre theater dinner. Served quickly but did not feel rushed at all. Food was great, good beer selection. Happy Hour meant loud and crowded but good deals on appetizers and beer which was a happy find! All four of us were happy with meals— veggie burger and hamburger delicious, butter chicken poutine and bitter chicken entree great. Fried pickles and pretzel appetizer very worthwhile. We would definitely visit again. Sevice was excellent.
Good value for the money.
Great place for a work lunch meeting
This location on Adams is a bit less crowded and less loud at lunchtime than the Wabash location. The food is good and the location is convenient to the Sears Tower (miss me with that other name, thank you) federal court, and other south Loop places. Salads have been good lately (after one unfortunate wilted one in April) and everyone has liked their sandwiches and veggie burgers. The BEST fried pickles. Overall, a great place for workday lunch with a friend.
The food was very tasty! We had the fried pickles, poutine and chicken pot pie. All were delicious. The kids had the Mac and cheese and loved it!
The noise level is usually bad, here. But the food is good and prices reasonable. The host/ess is sometimes nowhere to be found when you enter, which is such a stupid error for a restaurant to commit. There should ALWAYS be someone to greet guests right as they walk in. No exception.
Ice tea was awful
Fantastic service! Great with food allergies
What a fun place! We found one dish to be a little too spicy, one a little too bland, and 2 Delicious and Perfect... Get the Yorkshire pudding!
Happy Hour was very cool here. Decided to do it monthly.
Waiter was less than attentive, place almost too noisy to have a conversation. Food was very good.
It was great. I would recommend this restaurant to people.
Rude waiter. Really did not want to give us separate checks.
Hostess couldn’t find the OpenTable reservation despite it having been confirmed. We were seated promptly. When making the reservation, a special menu was offered but nothing was offered at the restaurant. Took 10-15 minutes to get first drinks but then food arrived super fast. Server was efficient and polite. Food was pub fare, tasty and fresh. Prices were fair.
Server was very nice and helpful.
Very close to the JW Marriott and exactly what we needed to keep the evening going!
