   Accommodated our party of 6 last-minute on a Saturday night, the atmosphere was warm and comfy. If you get the pretzel bites, I highly suggest you add an order of onion rings so you can make full use of the pretzels' cheese sauce. They do fish & chips very well here too, which is kind of expected since Boston = seafood, but overall it was a good first experience. Service was great, our server was genuinely very kind and helpful when we asked for recommendations.

    I had an evening hospital appointment. So, I had to find a place to eat. E&C had been my go to place for MANY years. I requested the kids menu because I had a large lunch. I had the Fish & Fries. SO GOOD, and just enough! Please add it as an option on the ADULT menu as a smaller portion. Not everyone wants to eat a lot. By the way, the brownie sundae was way too BIG! I was really sorry I ordered it. Four people could have shared it. One other BIG thing, there should be a handicapped restroom on the first floor. One of the reasons I hardly visit is because the restroom is a journey to the basement. I wasn’t always handicapped and I wasn’t when I was a customer in the 1990’s nor in 2012. It never bothered me back in those days but now it does. E&C is one of my favorite places but the lack of accessible bathroom thing definitely spoils it.

    I was looking for a breakfast spot and stumbled upon Elephant and Castle. I will be coming back! Food was good, a bit understaffed but the barkeep was on top of everything. I can see it being a busy evening crowd but was great for a business meal.

    We ate at the restaurant prior to going to the theater. The food was typical pub food. I didn’t really expect anything much, and the onion soup was bland, as was the beer cheese that accompanied the pretzel. Nonetheless, I didn’t really expect much more. Finally, we did have a little bit of a wait to get our check.

    Had dinner while staying at adjacent hotel. Good food - chicken tenders were excellent. Noisy environment if going for dinner. One drink glass had a crack in it that we needed to send back.

    Great service at first. We arrived before the crowds on a Saturday night. Appetizers were yummy. Old-fashioned was delicious. Entrees were pretty good. Kind of small but prices were not outrageous. We had to ask for water refills. Clean bathrooms and great British ambiance!

    Great food at a decent price..they gave fast service and our waiter was super nice. The staff remained calm even during busy New Year's Eve. I hope the manager that seemed stressed at the front door sees how great the staff handled the night. I can't wait to go back

    I saw the bartender drop a lime on the floor and the the server picked it up and put it back into the container with all the other fruit. Manager was standing there and saw it and didn’t say anything.

    Disappointing experience. Reserved a high top table and specified in my booking that I would like it for a World Cup game being shown. When I arrived the seat was nowhere near a television screen as requested or a high top table. I asked the waitress if it’s possible to sit closer to a screen which she kindly put me in a booth near the big screen. The manager came over after we had order drinks and abruptly asked us to move as this was reserved. I informed the manager that I have a reservation to watch this game on a high top table and was told to sit in this booth by the waitress. The manager informed me that the table I was sat at had been booked for months in advance. We moved to a high top table eventually which is front of a screen. A short while passes and a lady walks through the door and the manager informs her we have your seats available, you are lucky as your seats were being stolen and I stopped them. This suggested we took those seats when the waitress kindly put us there in the first place. He said this so loudly that we could hear it very clearly and made us feel very unwelcome. Later on the manager was being patronising to the waitress staff and the whole experience was very unpleasant to watch. There was a number people who also experienced seats in wrong location and asked the waitress and manager several times to move even though there was booths left unused. They advertised they are showing the World Cup games but it didn’t have enough seating in front of screens to accommodate everyone - so I wouldn’t recommend going if you are attending to watch big sports events there. The service was quick and the food was a good standard. If it wasn’t for the rude manager in particular the experience was a 3/5 but we wouldn’t come back again to this venue again.

    The food was excellent but the service was not. Our waiter seemed to forget about us. At one point, we didn’t see him for 30 minutes. He never checked to see if our food was satisfactory or if we wanted dessert. We had to track him down to get our check.

    It took 15 minutes to order. Food showed up at 25 minutes but we hadn’t been served our bar order. We also had no water or silverware when the food showed up. The waitress was apologetic but didn’t even think to bring us water until we explicitly asked (which had also during ordering). Our bar order showed up 3/4 the way through eating our meal and was only draft beer/cider. Then when we asked for the bill, just a machine and a total showed up. No itemized receipt. Could also not print a receipt.

    As always, the restaurant was clean, welcoming, and the staff was great. Lime juice margaritas were absolutely delicious. The disappointment was the French dip sandwich; it was just "meh" for me. Not particularly flavorful. The horseradish sauce was barely discernable and the bread was a little too soft. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the deliciousness I had hoped for. I would definitely eat hear again, but it won't be the French dip.
