Great service, spaced out well. We were very happy with our lunch!
Wonderful pub in Boston. Right near our hotel. Waitress was wonderful very attentive. Food was delicious!
Wonderful service and food!
Very friendly and attentive service. If you're looking for an English pub feel- this is your place. Standard pub fare. I had the chicken pot pie and it was perfectly fine. The side salad was drenched a bit in dressing... but I don't go to a pub for outstanding gourmet food. Lovely place to meet a friend casually.
Awesome as usual.
I went here on a sunday morning for brunch and it was terrific. We were seated right away, parking was easy and the food was great. I'll be sure to go again.
I thought that I had made reservations for 7pm on the 13th. When we arrived we were not on this list and realized that I made the reservations for the 12th by mistake. Knowing that all of the restaurants in the area were full, we were sorely disappointed. The host told us to hold on while he reviewed their reservations and was able to find us a table!!! On top of that the food and drinks were amazing!!
Great local pub with better than average pub food. We had the mini pie samplers and there were all good. My favorite was the steak and mushroom. The fish butty sandwich was good too. Just the right amount of batter and crispiness on the outside. Would go back again.
Bartender/waiter professional. Host/manager spent the evening playing on his phone.
Definitely the spot for a great date night
I had been looking for a healthy reasonably priced breakfast near my hotel. Frustrated with what I found, I made the trek here on my last day. I wished I came here sooner. Prices are good, service is excellent. I was able to get what I like to eat usually without all the cream/cheese that is popular in most dishes in this region.
Think if they are going to try to promote breakfast and not just to serve the hotel above them then they need to expand breakfast options and improve the food they already serve.
We had fish and chips and a couple of beers on the makeshif “patio”. It was very good.
The food was great as was the service and while we chose to eat outside the interior had a great pub feel ! Can’t wait to go back !
Good classic pub with great early dinner and snack specials! We had a really nice time here and it felt very safe with their covid procedures in place.
I was there fo trivia night with 8 co workers and our serve could never be found. She got drink orders for half the table then leave and come back 10-15 minutes later and then the same for the other half. By the time we got food it was over 30 minutes and reordering drinks was the same.
Just an all around great place for so many reasons.
A nice place for lunch. Cozy atmosphere. Excellent pub food. I also wanted to compliment the server for attending to my special dietary needs.
This restaurant was a big disappointment as a British experience. The football game had no volume, the baked beans are American and not British (huge difference) and the bangers were not good. For a place that advertises as a British bar, it was quite lacking. We left to watch the second half of the Liverpool vs. Man United game at home, where we could hear the commentary and reactions of the crowd, a big part of the game. A missed opportunity for the many Brits and wanna be Brits in Boston.
Simple casual pub dining. More of a sit down atmosphere than most, especially since it was carpeted. I don't know why, but that made the feel so different. The staff needed to be more attentive to their customers and also work together as a team. Because of such we left a rather small tip.
Food and service very good.Glass of Wine a bit price.will return.
Always good to eat at this Place!!! We always go there when we come to Boston
There on a break in Boston, and just looking for some good, but not expensive food. I would say that for 4 of us, we still spent $100 and the food was really not good. The fish and chips was soggy, the Yorkshire pudding was stale, and if you ask my wife, she doesn't remember what she even ordered. The beer came out pretty quickly, but when a friend joined us, it took 10 minutes to get a Guinness for here. I don't like to give bad reviews, and I have eaten at this same establishment in Chicago (which was good!). Very disappointing.
The atmosphere is very comfortable and the portions were reasonable. Service was solid, but the value is to be debated. A burger and side salad at lunch should not be $16.
Food and place are great. But everytime we go there service is poorly peovided. Not sure because they are busy and can't keep up or servers kuat aren't motivated to provide great service.
Michael’s trivia is the best game in Boston. Definitely the reason to visit.
They have the best trivia game in Boston (perhaps America) on Tuesday nights. Michael chooses great questions and music and delivers them perfectly. He never says more than he needs to, unlike some games in which the MC likes to hear him or herself talk.
Great food & fun place to go after work! I had the Salmon Burger and a rum based drink, both were delicious. We went on trivia night which was fun & it definitely added to the fun, boisterous environment, just a bit loud for a Tuesday night.
After work Financial District hot spot
Food was very good. Server was good. Noise level was way too loud.
This restaurant needs training on vegetarians, and server was apathetic at best.
The E & C is a staple in Boston. The food is good bar food. Service is reasonably attentive for the price point.
First time at the restaurant. Meeting a coworker who stayed at the hotel. Food was great! Service was poor.
Reservation was ready right on time / quick and efficient. Food was good.
Enjoy the experience as always. Quiet Friday evening as the business crowd had gone home
We went for business lunch, the hostess was not friendly, seemed very frazzled. Our server was inconsistent and our lunch was not the good. The restaurant is old and worn.
Server was rude when I asked him to double check on my meal to ensure there wasn't a certain ingredient. Ultimately didn't check. Told him he was risking an allergic reaction in his restaurant and he didn't care.
Disappointed because I eat here often.
Butter chicken was delicious, as were the pretzel bites. Something for everyone (even picky eaters). Good family stop. Expected more of a beer list though
always a good place to meet for a pubby lunch or after work beer.
