ELEM is a new restaurant and cocktail lab on Main + 5th.

Guests can expect to indulge in Top Chef Canada alum Mayekar’s bold cooking, featuring creative flavour-packed dishes that highlight the unique spices from cuisines around the world with local ingredients, alongside Winnie Sun’s inventive, element-inspired and sustainability-driven cocktails.

ELEM’s food menu is an exploration of flavours and spices from all corners of the world, including Bangkok, California, Spain, Mexico, Italy, and Mumbai – all inspired by Mayekar’s extensive travels and Indian heritage. There will also be a big focus on local BC-grown ingredients.

The 2,946 square foot, 76-seat space was designed by Vancouver-based Marko Simcich Architect and features three dining spaces and an open window into the kitchen to see the chefs at work.

We did the $100 tasting menu. It was outstanding and we could lot finish all the dishes. This is the best food in Vancouver and my favourite restaurant!

I’ve heard so much about Elem they did not disappoint! Helped my wife and me celebrate our wedding anniversary while delivering one of the best meals of our lives. Can’t wait to go back and try everything we didn’t try

Exceptional service, food was given at a great pace, we did not have to wait at all for any drinks or course. Had the “let us cook for you menu” of 14 courses. Absolutely delicious, every dish and cocktail is well thought out and executed. Beautiful ambience.

Elevated atmosphere where you’re hosted by a grounded and knowledgeable staff who make you feel at home in space that could be an art gallery, except you get to touch (and eat) the art.

Fantastic, the rice dish on the spicy side 7 out of 10 my wife would have prefer 6 on the spice scale. Will be back again soon.

It was our first time dining at ELEM for a birthday dinner, and we were given a tour of the restaurant as well as really attentive easy-going service. All the staff are really kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was - of course - AMAZING, and both the cocktails and the menu were highly creative and well-balanced in flavours. We loved our time at Elem! (Also, we were discussing how we were going to steal a bucket of their sauces from the kitchen because it tasted so good.) Thank you so much for a great time!

We had the 13-course tasting menu for $125 and were thoroughly impressed. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor—an exceptional culinary experience from start to finish. The drinks were also a highlight—creative, unique, and perfectly paired. Service was warm, attentive, and welcoming, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable dining night out.
