ELEM is a new restaurant and cocktail lab on Main + 5th.

Guests can expect to indulge in Top Chef Canada alum Mayekar’s bold cooking, featuring creative flavour-packed dishes that highlight the unique spices from cuisines around the world with local ingredients, alongside Winnie Sun’s inventive, element-inspired and sustainability-driven cocktails.

ELEM’s food menu is an exploration of flavours and spices from all corners of the world, including Bangkok, California, Spain, Mexico, Italy, and Mumbai – all inspired by Mayekar’s extensive travels and Indian heritage. There will also be a big focus on local BC-grown ingredients.

The 2,946 square foot, 76-seat space was designed by Vancouver-based Marko Simcich Architect and features three dining spaces and an open window into the kitchen to see the chefs at work.

Join us for our first of many Wine dinners at Elem. Chef Vish got inspired by Emerich Schönleber's Rieslings and created a menu around the different styles of Riesling produced from the Winery. The Winery farms 16ha of Riesling in the Nahe Valley with an editional 2.5h ha of other white grapes. We are very excited to have Marvin with us to add some insights about each wine while you enjoy them. We will be able to hold your table for 15min, after your reservation will be handled as no-show. The burrata cheese was the best I have ever had. Unbelievable. The lamb is always a winner. The special pork shoulder pasta was also a hit. The cocktails were delicious, in great glassware, and the ice cubes are made for them! Great service from the second we walked in. One of the servers recognized us from a visit 2 months ago. They change their menu often which is great.

The staff at ELEM were incredibly friendly and they were consistent with ensuring that we were having a good experience. The service was absolutely top notch. It was my first time experiencing having the table wiped down in between courses and the attention to detail is next level. The dinnerware was stunning and matches the aesthetic and atmosphere of the restaurant. The restaurants concept and design is so unique and beautiful. Not only did the menu contain different elements, but so did the interior design of the restaurant. Every square foot of this restaurant was just perfectly executed. The food was phenomenal and the rotational menu concept was explained so well by Hassib. Hassib made the experience fun and all the staff were so nice and went as far as to take a bunch of photos me and my friends. The washroom even played a motivational speech and was very different from other restrooms. I had an amazing time at ELEM and will be telling all my friends and family about it. I be coming back without a doubt.

ELEM could rival any high end restaurant in London- everything was superb ! We were there on a night that an entire office was celebrating in a room separately and unfortunately it made it very loud but not the fault of the restaurant. The service and quality and timing were all spot on! Heading back for our anniversary dinner in June!

Amazing food paired with a amazing service. We went with the “let us cook for you” and allowed our server to take care of the selections for our meal. His choices were amazing and created a beautiful dining experience for us!
