Eléa began with an amazing ambiance on a Saturday night in New York City. The seating areas are dimly lit, accompanied by candle light, but warmed and brightened by the energy of the full tables. Great for group gatherings, date nights, or intimate get-togethers. For someone who usually doesn’t go for a martini, the Kymatini was one of the best cocktails I have had (if you like a little cucumber). The Mykonos Mule was also fabulous. They were sadly out of the Santorini Spritz when we went. We started with the selection of three dips (some of the best tzatiki and spicy red pepper hummus I have ever had) and warm pita, but the taramasalata dip was what was absolutely unreal. It is a must try. The service was attentive and the manager was always making rounds. We originally were served and incorrect dip and were brought the proper one right away. The octopus (cooked to perfection), tsipoura fish, and short rib meals were all some of the best my friends and I have had in this city. It was overall not as expensive as i thought it would be and would definitely recommend to any foodies looking to venture out!
This is an exceptional Greek restaurant. Familiar Greek dishes are better tasting than you've had before. Seafood is beautifully cooked, a difficult thing to do on a busy Saturday night. The baclava is the best I've tasted, not oversweet and intensely flavorful.
It's larger than it looks. The main dining room is very loud and makes it hard to hear. The downstairs dining is much quieter. Outside is fine if it's not raining. Service is very good. There is a reason it is always busy.
For a non-meat eating party we found many options on the menu. Fish was very fresh service was great and the prices very good. Did not expect this quality in the upper west side. Very excited, this is our new spot.
This is a fantastic Greek restaurant with delicious food, attentive service and a great vibe, We ate outdoors and had a lovely meal. Thank you Elea!
The food here was amazing and so was the service. We sat outside and the seating was great and we were well taken care of.
Beautiful innovative Greek cuisine! Service was very attentive to two of our guests’ dietary concerns !!
Second time for us and you did NOT disappoint. It was great! We’ll be back!
I have been coming to Elea for years and am always amazed at the quality of the food, and the care that the management provides with for the customers, even on very busy nights. One of my favorite restaurants on the UWS!
The food and service was excellent. Our waiter was so attentive and we were not rushed at all! The octopus was the best I have ever had.
Indoors eating very satisfactory.
Food was great. The outdoor space was really nice, and the staff were super nice. I was just there this week, and already planning to return next week.
Most of the food was pretty good, but it certainly didn’t wow. Skip the octopus
Very expensive food for basic dishes and poor service
Horrible. Bartender was only interested in clearing the dishes, food was not hot, fish was meager, drunk older man at the bar, terrible atmosphere.
My favorite Greek restaurant in Manhattan! The food, service, and ambiance are always great!
I didn’t realize how much I liked Greek food and wines until I ate at this restaurant! And lucky us that it is right around the corner. Great service and pleasant environment.
The food was ok and it was cold when it arrived at our table which was disappointing. The service was not good, nobody came to clear the plates etc...
Love it here!!
The lamb chops were excellent as always. However, the French fries, which are usually very good were soft and Luke warm. That was disappointing.
The food at Elea has majorly improved as has the service. Staff came by several times to see how we were. A pleasure to have a quality good restaurant in our neighborhood.
With maybe a couple more menu options for a couple of dollars less per item this would be great. But there are great options, and always nice staff. So I keep going back!
I like this testaurant very much and have been twice recently. Service very slow the second time.
Love this place! Always consistently great quality food and ambience. Steve T is the man.
Lovely service by polite and omnipresent wait staff. Food really good. Fresh, nicely presented. A neighborhood Jewell.
Great food and service!
Very good food and the service is good. They have good outdoor options on a side street so noise is not too bad.
This place has the best food, service and ambiance.
We've had better experiences and food at this restaurant in the past. Maybe this was an "off" night? Octopus as chewy as old shoes. Lamb chops just okay. Very packed in crowded - too much so. Popular place as not too many "upscale" restaurants in this neighborhood. Will wait awhile before we go back.
Fabulous friendly and professional service. Attentive, accommodating manager. And as always, consistently best dishes.
Food was AMAZING. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend the chicken souvlaki which was so tender and seasoned perfectly (still talking about it with my friends). Elea chips and the Skordalia spread were delish! Ambience was perfect, so much seating indoor and out. Can’t wait to go back!
Great neighborhood Mediterranean. Good service. Food consistently yummy. Staff is always nice and accommodating
Lovely meal, large portions. Hospitable staff. I'll surely be back!
They went the extra mile to make my friend’s birthday special. Thank you.
Enjoyed our meal very much. We didn’t like being in the main dining room, which was downstairs and had no windows. The upstairs room is far more appealing.
Four old friends getting together for a very good meal in an upscale venue. Best Greek food on UWS. A bit pricey but worth it.
My fav local restaurant at the moment - exquisite food - fresh and delicious and different. Love the courgette fries, the calamari, the octopus, the lamb chops, all the fish and the spicy margaritas! Yum!!
Love Elea. Doesn’t get any better. Food, service, vibe completes the evening
Great wait service and amazing truffle fries
Long waits and overcooked food
