Love this restaurant! Delicious food, beautiful atmosphere and the service, attentive and friendly. So happy to have a great new restaurant on the UWS.
Very pleasant and extremely courteous! Prices seem a bit high for value. Charge for everything. I had mussels. Very bland. Branzino was excellent. Small plate called tower of fried zucchini also quite tasty. But long waits encourage more wine.
Lovely atmosphere and some very good dining choices. Would not return though.
My local go to....food is delicious every time. We sat at the bar this time and the scene was very lively.
First time here and it was Great!!! Will be back
Our first time at the restaurant...seated over 30 minutes after the reservation time. The server was very friendly and the food was good. Not sure if we will return though
Excellent food and wonderful service!
Dinner seating is downstairs in the basement in a lovely room that is light and bright. Service is outstanding and the food was delicious: tzatziki, Greek salad and grilled fish.
Was looking forward to grilled octopus at first time in restaurant. Unfortunately, not offered at brunch. Disappointed. However, I will go back. Food, service and ambiance was lovely.
I am coming for dinner next week. I will see if I recommend it for a friend or not. I really didn’t like your brunch menu. The food was very heavy and we were not impressed. Also, Waiter was not attentive. Too bad.
Appetizers were great but entree was mediocre, especially for that price point. Waiters need to have better execution, and stop standing in between two tables when taking orders. Who wants to see someone’s backside constantly or have a waitresses long hair falling into our open wine bottle.
Would have been 5 stars except for noise and erratic service. Friendly, informative waiter, but he forgot salads that were ordered as first course. Offered to bring them after serving entree, but we refused. A guest went to him quietly and asked for some token compensation for confused ordered. Server very unhappy, brought forks and large knife befor other diners knew why. One serving of pie was put on table. Whole thing strange and offputting after attn from manager and server earlier. Would recommend for lunch where it was quiet and attentive service other days.
Loved the food and the look!
It is really nice and good food
But overpriced and small portions
Happy with the food but think the staff could use some more training. For an evening when the restaurant was not extremely busy, we eat early had 5:45 reservations, the staff was not attentive. We had to ask for water refills, bread and additional silverware. Since we did enjoy the food , we will be back but hope there will be an improvement in service
Nothing more to say
Only issue was attentiveness of waiter and long wait for the meal. Food was exceptional.
We had a lovely anniversary dinner. The staff was wonderful and treated us to a sweet dessert!
The service was excellent. Our server George was very informative about the food and always willing to answer questions and try to fulfill special requests.
Food was great, but noise level really loud! I thought the waitress and waiter were very nice and friendly!
Always delicious! Today’s Dutch Style mussels were a revelation!
The food was nice, but its entirely too expensive not to be more special. And its noisier than even most New York restaurants. The waiter was hard to understand. I don't speak Greek.
Very good service. Food delicious. Only problem
screaming kids next to us also table under stairway.
Elea, the upper west side loves you. I love you. You have a very good thing going. But you have to speed up your service.
Hire more servers. Hire more runners. Whatever you have to do. It’s the only thing working against you right now.
Have been here several times now, and it just keeps getting better and better. Warm and friendly, in a neighborhood where that's always the case.
7:30 Reservatiion...wait person said his shift had ended. 1 hour and 15 minutes later we were served our cold dips.....salads came 20 minutes later
Lamb chops tough and dry. Lamb that you use from Australia is not as good as Colorado lamb , which is used by the best restaurants.
Beet salad very good
Service is impeccable, the ambiance is fantastic, the food is pretty good.
I ate lunch here and it was good food and excellent service. 4 of us went for brunch when it was not crowded at all. Food was not good, particularly, except the salmon eggs benedict. Service was very slow and it took quite a while to get ourms.
Overall very good food. We were a group of 6 and we all enjoyed it. We shared appetizers/tapas - the zucchini chips were excellent, as was the calamari. The hummus and other spreads were good. The Dorado was really good. Everyone else liked their main course too but I don't recall what they had.
We had a very nice time. That said, it was very loud and we didn’t have a great table. Food and service were excellent.
Absolutely delicious! We will definitely return and recommend Elea. Thank you
always a hit with the guests I bring. haven't had an off night yet. terrific food, great space and solid service. if you haven't been - go!
Always delish! Need those Elea chips for lunch.
Delicious dinner- excellent service- look forward to returning. Out server helped us order.... perfect recommendations.
What a great place Elea is! I almost want to shade the truth so it won’t get so popular reservations are hard to get! But there is no getting around the fact that Elea is great. The food is excellent and the service superb. We had a young woman who told us such interesting facts about her Greek grandmother’s preparation of some of the riches. Everything is done right...if you go back and can’t remember the wine you enjoyed, they have a record, for instance. It is easy to talk at Elea, adding to the pleasure of eating there. What a welcome addition to New York dining Elea is and it is especially wonderful to have it on the west side.
Great place, best on upper west side by far. Food is fresh and reasonably priced.
Serenely gorgeous restaurant tucked away on a side street. Food was outstanding: meltingly perfect warm feta cheese, superbly seasoned vegetables, excellent fish. Vegan- and vegetarian-friendly menu. Elegant clientele, no cell phones on the tables -- what a pleasure! The only thing I'd change was the house computer facing the room, which clashed with the soft lighting and Mediterranean decor. (I requested they face it the other way, or get a privacy screen for it.)
Probably the best "fine dining" in the area. The bar area is interesting with a bartender who takes his drinks seriously. An exhaustive and varied list of cocktails with his twists. We enjoyed all the appetizers - been there thrice now. The main course is varied - fish of the day expensive and bland, the mushroom baked dish amazing.. overall, a great place to grab drinks or dinner in the area.
Excellent! Best restaurant in NYC.
