Elaine’s modern Mediterranean cuisine is based on exquisite food found in Alexandria, Egypt. The unique style is best described as Middle Eastern with French, Greek, and Italian influences.


Our award winning restaurant Elaine’s is located at 208 Queen Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314. The 1880 building, the previous home of Bilbo Baggins for 38 years, has been completely renovated with a new look and feel. The restaurant is located in the heart of Old Town’s Historic District within sight of the Potomac River. Founders Park, The Torpedo Factory Art Center, and Old Town Alexandria Waterfront are only blocks away.

                        The owner went from table to table greeting guests. Excellent food and decor. Service very good also. Would definitely go back.

                        I give Elaine's 5 stars for their care and attention to dietary restrictions (GF and Vegan- Fabulous!). The server worked with the chef to understand where things could be modified and where they could not and then offered options from there. Excellent work. The reason I gave three stars is for the service...they were lovely but food came out at different times, the waiter forgot some things, there was a bug in my salad (which they offered to refund the cost). Just not as comfortable with some of those things.

                        I had the Brussels sprout appetizer and the chicken shish. Both were delicious. The star of the show was the pistachio martini!! One of the best cocktails I’ve ever had.

                        Enjoyable meal with friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Excellent Mediterranean salad with steak. I enjoyed the koshari, but wish it included more of the tomato sauce and a bit more spice.

                        Celebratory brunch! Excellent Bloody Marys, tasty salad, and very good shish (one lamb, one grilled chicken) with rice and grilled peppers. Haven't been disappointed by Elaine's yet. We'll look forward to our next visit.
