El Vez-Ft. Lauderdale
It was awesome! Really great food, service was excellent (Chris was amazing!). And absolutely amazing evening again!! And my little dog felt super comfy!
Expensive (not surprising, given the location @ the W hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach) and not worth the price. The food was mediocre -- we're from LA and we know and love good, upscale Mexican food -- the selection wasn't great -- and the only frozen margarita on offer was a too-sour blood orange "specialty." It wasn't bad, but certainly not worth the price ($130 for 2, including one "happy hour" drink, one wine, and tip, plus $7.50 + tip for parking).
Had a fantastic evening! Will definitely be back. Food, service and atmosphere were fantastic.
It was the best time at a Mexican restaurant. Great atmosphere delicious food. Loved it
Then went upstairs where DJ was jamming and had drinks and danced.
Always great. It is pricey but food is outstanding and doesn't disappoint
From the beginning my party and I stepped to the hostess stand till the time we left the service and staff were excellent! The food was delicious!
The service was awesome and the food was delicious. I absolutely love the blood orange margarita!
We look forward to dining at El Vez for breakfast on every trip to the W FLL. The crab and avocado Benedict is a must try. Service is wonderful with especially good care from Lena and Pablo. We love the sun and the views and the coffee too!
The food was excellent. My husband said they were the best nachos he ever had (and that is saying something). They had a great kids menu as well. My only issue is that my kids got lemonade and it was 4 dollars a lemonade. That may have been okay but then they got refills and we were charged. We assumed they were free refills because we weren’t told otherwise. So we were in for about 30 bucks for lemonade only. That part really stunk. Other than that, the restaurant was great.
Fun set up at outdoor tables with great view of the beach. We had a group of 14 for an early dinner so we split two tables. We probably sampled the entire menu and everyone was happy with their dishes from salsa/pico/guac, the share two shrimp fajita tacos in the volcano dish to the queso fundido dip, seafood enchiladas, tostados de mariscos ceviche (AMAZING!), nachos, blood orange and classic marg's... everything was DELICIOUS...super flavorful. Our servers were great! Very attentive and able to handle a large group of people shifting tables and sampling each other's treats. The interior space was cool too...very eclectic decor. Would definitely go back!
Our server, Mike, was fantastic! Offered some great menu suggestions...
Great new edition to the W hotel. Stunning vistas from table.
The food was very good ! Glad we decided to eat here tonight 😊
The food is good. The service was just okay. The dining room is odd with noisy areas and really hot areas. I’m not sure I’d go back.
If I could give 0 stars I would! I made a reservation to celebrate my birthday only to get to the restaurant and find out it was closed due to a water issue. I understand if a business needs to close, what I don’t understand is that no one was able to call and let the clients know!
What a Disappointment! Btw... the restaurant next to it is open and functioning...
Horrible horrible customer service
We sat outside on the balcony overlooking AIA and the Fort Lauderdale Beach. Beautiful weather, though humid, a light breeze helped cool us down. Service excellent; food delicious (we had enchiladas and tacos). Probably the best element were the Classic Margaritas at Happy Hour prices.
Celebrated birthday; server was excellent, didn’t hover but made sure we had everything we wanted
i have a soft spot for El Vez from Philly.
food was not bad as i remembered , guac was little bland and really small.
i used to get really good service from Star restaurants in Philly but this one was not as good, we had to ask for the nachos dips 3 times , our corn was served to other table so we had to wait 15 min after finish our dinner to get it, order churros and was told that they are out as i see it served to table next to us, so the server went to check and came back saying they do have it.
overall it's very nice spot with beautiful view and decor but i think the Philly location is way better.
Came here with 5 of my friends for dinner. This is a great restaurant with really great food. The drinks are to die for! Really creative with great flavor! This is definitely a hit!
It was too hot, the AC leaked on us on both ends. The bar didn’t have the rum we wanted so we pAid our tab left and went to steak 954.
El Vez is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Fort Lauderdale and the best corn tortillas I have ever had!
El Vez was a fun spot to eat, drink and have fun. The service staff was great; allowing us to sit and enjoy our get-together. We will certainly return!
I like this restaurant. Not the greatest food or tortillas; but, good Cadillac Margaritas. Servers always pleasant.
One of the best restaurants on the beach!
The worst Mexican food I have ever had. I thought it would be good since it’s at the W Hotel and their other restaurants are good. Worst food ever. I would rate it less than a 1 put it was the least stars. WILL never go there again. Glad to be staying at Hotel so I can truly have a good meal tomorrow at 954.
If you are looking for good food and service, look elsewhere. Our server informed us that substitutions were not really possible because most of the dishes were pre-made. From a food quality perspective, it was like eating at a Taco Bell with a nice bar. Service seemed mostly disinterested. If you want a lively bar scene on the beach, this place fits the bill. For a meal, no thanks.
Went for lunch on the 4th of July. The food and service were great. The special guacamole was as good always. I thought the steak quesadilla was exceptional. My wife really enjoyed the Mo Mama Nachos and the Margaritas were great.
Just as amazing as their NY location just with a better view
Food was excellent
We went for breakfast. The food was really good and the chorizo was a great addition to my omelette. The biggest complaint is that the portions were small and the omelette had no side like potatoes or a biscuit etc... That would have been nice. Over all it was good and I would go back. Service was okay; thing special but it wasn’t bad.
Maurice is an amazing manager always great seeing him. Also great seeing Mary as well. Love you guys see you soon.
Great food in fun environment
Great time! Even better food than the Philly El Vez.
Food was very good and came out really quick !
Amazing as always! Went back the next day for lunch. Yum!
The only problem with the restaurant is how hot it is. The AC units drip from the heat. Shut the windows in the summer, turn on AC and it would be more enjoyable.
Food was great. Just way too hot.
$13 dollars for a tequila shot...$2 for a small ramekin of cheese...$1.50 for a side of hot sauce. That is the most ridiculous thing ever. And on top of that the server didn’t even tell us she was charging us for cheese and hot sauce! I’ll never be back and never recommend this place. Such a rip off.
The restaurant is awesome, service and food was great! I would of like to see better portions for the money and free chips and salsa. Also everything is al a cart. Love the view and company!! Overall great experience and atmosphere, I will be coming back and would recommend to others.
Fun place; good food! We’ll be back during our next Ft Lauderdale visit!
