El Torito - Stockton
Using the freshest ingredients and boldest flavors, our menu offers a range of quintessential Mexican food, along with culinary innovations we know guests will love. We are known best for our tableside preparations, including our made-to-order guacamole and flame-grilled fajitas, which arrive sizzling to the table.
Our standard is great, and we don’t do anything without passion. Over 60 years, we’ve learned a lot about Mexican food, like how not to mess it up.
Tortilla Chips & Salsa
Chicken Machaca, Crispy Taco, Beef Barbacoa, Crispy Taco
Warm, fluffy and buttery waffles. Served with honey-butter, maple syrup, fresh fruit and a side of bacon or sausage
Awesome food and service. I would definitely recommend making reservations before going or you may have to wait.
Needs more ventilation, was 85 degrees in their so uncomfortable
Wonderful to eat inside finally. We enjoyed our meal sooooo much. Thank you. I hope all the employees are vaccinated.
I wish you could ask all the customers to be vaccinated or at least sit them in there own room. I am immunocompromised have stage 4 cancer) and worry, I would prefer to only be around other vaccinated people.
But we enjoyed it very much. Thank you.
Decent filling food. Friendly staff. Our waitress was extremely overworked and appeared to have a trainee shadowing her. When I suggested that her boss should give her double the pay she hinted that other workers called to say they wouldn’t be in for their shift which left her very busy. Not her fault. I will return in the future.
This was my first time there!!! It was so YUMMY!! The Pozole and Meundo was AMAZING! Everything was delicious! I made a reservation on line and was seated at the scheduled time. Our server was the Best!! I will go back for sure. The place was so clean, everyone was so friendly.
I've been to the one in san leandro many times and always been worth the price but this one not so much. The bathrooms smelled pretty bad and need a renovation. The music was so loud had to talk a bit loud to understand my spouse.
Food and service was great. We were well attended to. We reserved a table but the wait time ran 20 minutes past our reservation.
Food was delicious, some of it was a little cold but still edible. Waitress was kind of whack.
Very nice experience considering COVID restrictions.
Reservation worked great and everything was perfect.
We had reservations at 6:15pm got there checked in then we waited until 6:45 to be seated because I went up and said how long, then we sat took another 10 to ask us what drinks another 15 min for chips and salsa and we ordered waited an hour and no food so we left! I asked the manager why does it take so long, he said “we are understaffed and if you know anyone needing of work to let them know. So we left! Why are they taking so many reservations if they’re understaffed doesn’t make sense!
The food was delicious no complaints
Thank you for your feedback. We hope to see you again soon! – Xperience Restaurant Group
Made a reservation for Mother’s Day and boy was it packed. We did have to wait longer than expected but they extended the brunch so we wouldn’t miss it. The food was delicious and our server Cecilia was AWESOME! Look forward to going again for brunch soon.

El Torito and their staff have been doing brunch for years and have it down to a science!

Sunday Brunch was Awesome yet again. Will continue to come.
Disappointed. Food server didn’t know type of meat in buffet. Girl served ice cream on a flat plate. Had to ask for spoon. Omelet didn’t have much in it even though I requested 3 items.
There was a wide variety of food choices. Unfortunately it seemed like most of the staff maning the stations were slow or were very new. Ask for flower tortillas from different stations and was given different answers. They had no sugar-free syrup which was disappointing. Waitress never let us know that we could get tea, soda etc including with the buffet & we were charged a surcharge on our bill because of mandated employee wages. We were a party of 5. I think they needed more staff.
We got there early for our open table reservation and were asked to wait, no big deal. But then they forgot about us until someone asked if we were waiting for a pick up order.
The only way we got to be seated right then was if we wanted to sit in the bar at a high top table. Again, no biggie, but the table was wobbly as hell.
Got the fajita combo, steak was good, chicken was dry. This was also the first time I’ve had potatoes with fajitas on the platter. Also no cheese or sour cream.
But I’d still go back and give them a second chance.
Very good service. A bit loud though.
Everyone on the staff are great! So friendly and always checking up on us!
Made reservations and never got in. An hour after our reservation then we received a msg!!!
Glad to have the buffet back. Always a great place to eat
I ordered a guacamole taco in a hard she'll. When I got my taco, it was deep fried. I was expecting a nutritious meal, not deep fried in fat.
The food was incredibly delicious and fresh. The people working there were friendly and professional and the establishment was clean and they took the necessary precautions to keep the patrons safe.
Only on cook. Server was not communicative about this so it seemed she didn’t care. Food was cold.
Steak was tough
I just moved from San Jose and they have double the food available to eat. That is fantastic, and the price is lower.
The service was very good staff was very friendly the only downfall is that outdoor dining it’s super cold outside so your food gets really cold really fast otherwise everything else was great
Made reservations, didn’t get seated 30 minutes later.
BEST EXPERIENCE!! This was mine and my family’s first time eating out since the pandemic and we had such a GREAT experience. We ate on Sunday for Brunch and reserved a table on their website around 10am. Following guidelines, great food, pancakes are SO good!!
My first visit to El Toritos was in 1996. My second visit to El toritos was in 2021.
Let’s start with the main attraction.....the food. The food was cold. Food was bland and had zero flavor. Blah!
The coffee was at best, somewhat warm. Even the refill cup was a little warm. Definitely not hot like coffee should be.
I had the omelette with chorizo and it was terrible. Chorizo tasted like low quality, store bought.
I understand the goal is to maximize profits but at $29 per person, the least you can do is make sure the food is quality, tasty and HOT. If the quality and tasty part can’t be achieved.....at least make it hot!!!
As for the service, it was okay. We had to ask for refills.
It will probably be another 20 years before I visit El Toritos again. Thanks but no thanks.
Made reservations didn’t get seated until about 25 minutes later and I had to go back up to the desk to ask otherwise I may been waiting longer
Patio dining on taco Tuesday. DJ was playing and they specialty menu is excellent. Recommend the rose margarita and tacos vampiros.
Everything was great except we had to eat outside because of the Covid restrictions and I’m not a fan of that that’s the only reason why I gave everything for stars instead of five
Valentines Day...they have really gone crazy on the price, for there brunch.... for sitting in a parking lot....
Unfortunately we came on a cold morning and they sat us on the high tops where all the wind was. As soon as we sat down we just wanted to leave because we couldn’t bare the cold even with our jackets. Food was good, might come back just make sure you sit somewhere warmer.
I love the food! It is always wonderful. I had the Fajitas tacos. But, I do not like dining in the tent, in the winter, with no heat (the propane heater ran out of propane). Other than that, I am looking forward to the end of N.'s lock down. So I can dine inside the lovely restaurant, with my friends.
Happy hour from 3-close was great. We were able to try a few different items from the menu. We will definitely be back.
Thank you had a good time considering the COVID-19 and the server was very good.
