El Torito - San Leandro
Sunday Brunch: 9:00am - 2:00pm; Lunch: Monday - Saturday: 11:00am - 5:00pm, Sunday: 2:00pm - 5:00pm; Dinner: Sunday - Thursday: 5:00pm - 10:00pm, Friday & Saturday: 5:00pm - 11:00pm
I really enjoyed the food, my waiter just seemed not pleasant until to to pay and go but I still would return
Although El Torito's is a chain restaurant - the location and view are great which makes this place perfect for a special occasion - the food was especially good that night I had the chile verde and all four of us enjoyed the food- the waiter was exceptional- overall a great dining experience-.
The service was excellent. Went for Sunday Brunch, nice view but overpriced for the quality of food.
We've eaten at El Toritos for years and this is the first time the food and drink were below par.
The margaritas tasted watered down - no flavor, and the food was bland. It seems there may be a new chef or the old chef was too busy. We'll try again hoping things have turned around.
Open Table reservations worked perfectly!
Food was a little dry. Could have bed. My choice, but I expected Mexican food to be a bit more flavorful
our table wasn't quite ready for our 4pm reservation but it didn't take them long to get it ready after we arrived. Food was good and seemed fresh
It's always a wonderful time at El Torito as long as you know that service is on the slow side. Food had been consistent, but this time it was smaller portions and just okay as far as the meal was concerned. If you're looking for a nice place by the Marina just to get together with some friends, I would say the happy hour and drinks are great. Fun place. I would go again.
Very good food. Slow service.
Very nice place for lunch but a bit expensive for the food given. I think I had six narrow strips of chicken for the lunch fajitas with a smattering of bell peppers and onions. Beans were mediocre, rice a bit dry but avocado and corn were tasty. Service was excellent. View was wonderful from our window seat but the seats were a bit soft and uncomfortable. The view and staff would bring me back, not the food or the price.
Our server was spot on and the view from our window seat was beautiful. However, we all noticed that the food wasn’t quite as good as usual for Sunday brunch. The omelettes were either over or under done, the cakes were a bit dry, the chocolate fondue was thin. The tamales were great, as were the carnitas. Clearly it was a mixed bag. We will be back. Perhaps it was just an off day.
Server very nice but mistakes made on our order and as I've noted this before, doesn't seem to be enough servers for all the tables.
good food, good view, gooooooooooooooooooooooooood everything
Planned a celebration dinner for my Master’s graduation and I was deeply disappointed. I arrived 10 mins past my reservation and was told our table was no longer available. I reminded the personnel that when I placed the reservation it indicated there was a 30 mins grace period. Because I was coming from my graduation ceremony I was late. Then they placed my family in the corner of the bar, over an hour after placing our food orders we were told it would take another hour before our food would be ready. At this point, we were extremely disappointed and left. Never plan to go back or recommend to anyone. We arrive at 8:40pm, left at 10:15pm
We had been going to El Torito that was located in Burlingame for over 25 years. Because of the distance (actually traffic) our visits to your facility has been rather limited. But we have enjoyed your Sunday brunch to the fullest, particularly your menudo. Your menudo is just like Mom used to make it for us...this is the main reason why we continue coming over whenever traffic is on the light side.
This is our favorite restaurant! The view rivals something you would see in a high-end restaurant. The food is good. The cocktails are good. The service is good. The price is mid-range. $17-20 per meal. Kids meals are $5.99.
The food was great but Service was a little slow. it was a very busy morning so it’s understandable, but our server wasn’t very cordial. Tons of options at the buffet that and they definitely have something for everyone. Will be back at some point
Went for Mother's Day Brunch, and had a fabulous time as always!
Went there to watch the Kentucky Derby in the bar followed by a Meetup dinner for 9 people. Great atmosphere and excellent service in the dining room. The bartender was able to make me a Mint Julep while we watched the horse race. We were accommodated with a window table in the dining room. Nice view right on the water and watching the planes land at the Oakland Airport. Food is good, although probably not all that authentic - just the usual Mexican specialties made for American tastes. I also like the decor and ambiance of the place.
I enjoy dining at El Torito at the San Leandro Marina because of it's location overlooking the Bay and good food with generous portions. Mainly I'd improve upon it by updating it a bit. Also, sometimes the service is slow even though usually friendly.
The chicken caesar salad is my favorite
Monthly brunch group
no hostess to seat us, botched the Opentable reservations, street tacos fell apart, wasn't our servers fault
we had a table booked for ten people a week in advance. We had a limited time for our meal and when we arrived, we were made to wait 15 minutes while they prepped tables for us. The restaurant was not busy and we were irritated that this hadn't been done in advance of our arrival. otherwise food and service were good, although rushed since they weren't prepared for us.
The beef for our fajitas was chewy and tasteless we didn’t more than a couple of bites. The chicken was okay.
Very nice lunch with a good friend. When I made the reservation it asked if it was for a birthday which I answered yes. I don't know if they usually bring a desert for the persons birthday or not but we were not asked about it. No big deal.
Always good for brunch. Be sure to start with Pozolea
We had a reservation with Open Table.
When we arrived to an almost empty restaurant. We were told by the two girls at the front that even though we have a reservation we would have to wait for 15-20 min.
The service was awful and they did not check us in with Open Table. I’m not worried about the 100 points, but being tagged as a no show.
Good seating and great service
Making reservations are useless for this place. Thought it would speed up the process but the people who walked in got tables before we did. We waited 10+ minutes regardless of having a reservation.
Service was horrible. The waitress argued with my husband because he is allergic to onions. So I asked for a manager and got a discount. Won't go here again.
We got to the restaurant 10 minutes early and checked in. Then we waited, and waited, and waited as others were seated, whether they had reservations or not. The two hosts seemed to be deliberately avoiding seating us. At 10 minutes past our reservation time, I was going to say something, but the manager noticed that we had been waiting and intervened. The rest of the evening was fine. Those two hosts need some training, as their behavior bordered on discrimination.
Great place for drinks and food. Our waitress forgot our drinks but was on the ball the rest of the time. Shrimp tacos are bomb
The fajitas were so tender-perfectly cooked after they lit them table side.
I appreciate this gem. The food is flavorful and well-prepared. The staff is helpful and courteous. We've gone two weeks in a row for brunch on Sunday and it actually got better from the first week.
May I say, I'm not a waffle person but the waffles are amazing! My friend enjoyed the omlet bar enough to stand in line twice. Delicious!
I strongly recommend that you have a reservation. It will get crowded at times.
Service is second to none each time we meet at El Torito
Restaurant closed - no notice
Buffets can be a whole lot of food. Period. Thankfully, the brunch buffet at El Torito is not only plentiful but tasty and definitely family friendly. If you book your table, you just might luck out and enjoy a view of the Oakland Airport. Did I mention bottomless mimosas are part of the holiday buffets?
