El Torito - San Leandro
Tortilla Chips & Salsa
Chicken Machaca, Crispy Taco, Beef Barbacoa, Crispy Taco
Spinach, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms and jack cheese omelette. Served with roasted breakfast potatoes
This was our first time out to the brunch since Covid. It is a nice brunch but costly.
It includes a lot of items and mimosa. One of our party of 4 added in a $5 Marguerite.
The bill gave a little sticker shock. Tip, taxes plus the 3+ percent added for the extra Covid measures made our bill $174.00
I would recommend regular dining and for a special occasion attend this brunch. It was a family member's birthday but I would not do it again due to the cost.
Great experience great service and great food
Date with my family. We had a good time and the food was delicious. Warm welcoming from the host, waitress and other employees who interact with us. Thank you
Good place! Good food! Nice view of the Bay! Enjoyed dinner!
It is a good idea to make a reservation
They are very busy and there was a 40 minute wait for walk in diners
The completely ignored my requests and special occasion non the resume, we’re out of guacamole, and the food came out cold. Server was friendly and did a good job anyways.
Sticking with Doña from now on.
The food for the brunch was good, long lines at times but that’s expected. We sat near a window at the end of the booths by the water. There were many flies in the window which was bothersome as I killed them with my napkins. The group in the larger room behind us were louder than expected as they had kids running around screaming high pitch screams.. got annoying at times. Will we go back, probably not. Will try a different location.
We made our reservations through open table. I highly recommend this as our table was just about ready when we arrived. Lots of diners, so the staff was pretty busy. Our server was nice as well as the food delivery people.
We were a little concerned about our busbuy who was eager to clear away the tables as we barely finished eating. He arrived at our table and dropped scraps of food on my companions plate as he was getting ready to pick up the plate. He was reaching over and coughing (into his mask). Later, we were enjoying our desert and he reached over the desert to clear the chip and salsa basket (coughing again).
Kind of concerning, considering the current Covid climate). We should have called over a manger but I didn't see one readily available and my companion was so upset, we just left.
Sunday brunch is still a work in progress. The buffet was challenging, even when just trying to request a clean plate. Buffet lines were long. No omelet station as advertised. Some dishes were mislabeled, servers didn't understand and some dishes got hard and cold from sitting out. The bananas were not carmelized for the bananas foster waffles.
First time returning for brunch since COVID. We were very disappointed that there was no outdoor dining any longer. With the uptick in COVID, why not keep outdoor dining. Food was good as always. One of us in our party today realized they were charged twice on their credit card and has now contacted the restaurant to see if they will correct asap.
This is a nice place with great food...and good service....on the water and close to the Oakland Airport. It is now our place to go when going to or coming home from the airport.
The food was ok. Nothing really stood out. Flavorful, but not spicy.
Some of the food offerings were cold
Many flies/mosquitos flying in side the food area
Poor service at the waitress ,the hostel sent me to very dark space by the bar at the middle I was planning to have brunch for 20 people
Had a great time. Beto, the bartender is awesome!
Service was very good, Food not so good. 2 of the 4 breakfasts were good but 1 breakfast had to be sent back because the eggs were not cooked all the way. When it came back, the eggs were overcooked and burnt. The 4th breakfast was just terrible. It was chiliquiles. It said it was eggs served on tortilla strips.. it actually came on tortilla chips that were completely soggy and the eggs were burnt. Definitely won’t be coming back.
No security in parking lot. Car windows are being broke into every day according to the restaurant. Mine was broken into after 30 minutes.
Did not have a table for until 15 min after our reservation.
A lot of background noise. Food and service were good.
Good job and food was priced ok
Great go to spot for tasty Mexican food and refreshing drinks with a nice view of the bay. Staff super friendly, efficient and attentive.
Location is a bit outdated in decor but it doesn’t take away from a great dining experience.
All the servers had their mask on, but not over their nose. The lady who was making the tacos was so preoccupied with other stuff, that she would not pay attention to what she was doing - spilled menudo all over the plate, could care less of anything I was saying... and the waffle maker had her infant child in a rocker next to her (while she WASN'T wearing any mask at all).
The entire scene was a fiasco. Not enough social distancing and just a mess all around. I love El Torito Sunday brunch, but I doubt I'll ever go back to the San Leandro location.
Excellent Sunday brunch, plenty of food options. Only comment is that staffing was low, only one person working each serving station, was a little slow and prefer not to be standing in a line during the pandemic.
Great food service. Most importantly kids friendly!
Food excellent. Restaurant crowded and fairly noisy. Hilario was very busy and understandably tardy on taking care of us. However he kept us in chips and salsa and delivered a fine meal . One of our favorite places to dine when we visit from Seattle.
This was my first time at El torito and I will definitely return. I love Mexican food because I'm Mexican but I am usually very disappointed with the quality of Mexican food at Mexican restaurants because they cater mostly to American customers.
This was not the case at El torito they had a great taste to their meat, their appetizers, their drinks ( I had a Paloma) and dessert was excellent!
Service was excellent from the moment we stepped in we were helped out right away hostess showed us our table and asked us if that was okay and they also had a better one so we went with that suggestion.
Our server greeted as promptly and gave us the time we needed as well as helped us with suggestions.
The only thing I did not like was how cold it was inside the restaurant I think they had the AC on and it was already cold outside so maybe turning that down a bit because I already had a jacket and I was still cold.
Overall I thought the ambience was great the place was clean the bathroom was clean and everyone was really nice.
My bf and I enjoyed our dinner at ET today! The food was absolutely amazing! Hilario our waiter was quite attentive as we started out with Cadillac Margaritas, fresh guac with warm chips and perfectly seasoned salsa.
I ordered the Salmon Veracruz with a side Mexican Cesear
Salad which by the way was absolutely bomb! Chilled and perfectly dressed with a cilantro lime dressing that I enjoyed so much! My salmon was perfectly cooked atop of a bed of spinach and red peppers it was delicious!
My bf ordered the steak and shrimp fajitas that was served sizzling hot and he wasted no time diggin’ in. Hilario asked
if there was anything else we needed and my bf said a pepsi and sour cream please- sure enough Hilario was on it!
Our meal was most enjoyable and memorable because of Hilario and the freshest entree’s ever experienced this evening at ET. post pandemic!
We can’t wait to return!
Great spot in San Leandro with a great view. The food was delicious overall good. Will recommend for people to try this spot out. I most definitely will return.
Extremely disappointed. We had reservation for 345, but did not get seated until 355. Our server was inattentive. We had to ask for everything multiple times - food, drinks, napkins, straws. Our table was not set and we did not receive any silverware or napkins until after our food came at 440. 45 minutes to get our food is ridiculous. We ordered guacamole and it was tasteless with a bunch of pepper. Didn’t even taste like guacamole with all the black pepper that was in it. Other tables around us were complaining about the service or lack thereof.
My family and I had a great time and good food as we always do here!
We were there for their brunch at 11:30 AM. A few of the buffet stations were closed off, so we did not have as many food options as we would have liked . Food was good, but needed to be kept much hotter. Everything was luke warm. We did have a window table, which made it all bearable! All in all, it was an OK experience.
There were two swarms of about 30 flies flying around the dining room.
Service was very slow, our orders were all wrong, the meats on our plates were very dry not freshly made.
Horrible hosting and managing services. I made a reservation and they wouldn’t seat us unless we ate the buffet which was closing in 15 min and then wouldn’t let’s us take a table to wait for the menu services. We had to eat in the bar. The food was cold and tasteless.
Reservation is of no use. We arrived their like 5 minutes before our reservation time however no table was available and were told that we have to wait… so it’s like we went there for a first come first serve basis. We waited for almost 30 minutes before we were seated. Staff were rude.
This definitely isn't the same brunch experience as the past. They didn't even have an omelet station! And the new fajita station didn't open until around the time we were leaving. The staff was friendly and helpful in serving out items, but very few spoke English and therefore couldn't answer questions. And the biggest issue was that there just wasn't nearly as much variety as I recall from a couple years ago. And almost nothing that my kids would eat...
Upon arrival the place appeared to be in disarray and shoddy. In general the building appeared to need some renovation.
The service was OK, but we had bottomless drinks and she did not check on our drinks once. The asada was ordered "medium rare," but it was well done when served. The menu indicated "maple syrup" with the waffles, but it was artificial syrup instead. And there was no butter with the waffles. Like the asada, the sausage links were overcooked.
El servicio de la mesera y de las personas que nos atendieron fue muy agradable.
Had a Reservation for father's day at 8:pm, got there early at 7:15 and still wanted me to wait for 10 more min. Wen it was 8:15. Disappointed 😞
Good food presentation on the plates. Food was hot and service was very good. Servers were polite and friendly.
Everything very good 😌
Lo único que le falta un poco mas limpio!
