El Torito - Marina Del Rey
Using the freshest ingredients and boldest flavors, our menu offers a range of quintessential Mexican food, along with culinary innovations we know guests will love. We are known best for our tableside preparations, including our made-to-order guacamole and flame-grilled fajitas, which arrive sizzling to the table.
Our standard is great, and we don’t do anything without passion. Over 60 years, we’ve learned a lot about Mexican food, like how not to mess it up.
Chips & Salsa
Slowly simmered in garlic, oranges and spices, our tender pork is served with fresh avocado, frijoles de la olla, rice, pico de gallo, marinated cabbage and warm tortillas. Make your Carnitas Chile Verde or Chile Colorado Style
Excellent service and very friendly staff, the food was fantastic, and a great table location with an awesome view of the marina!
I had a reservation for 6 pm and arrived nearly 10 minutes early. There was a large gathering of people outside waiting. No ones tables were ready at the reservation time apparently the reservation is only an “arrival time” then you have to wait. Our service at the table was extremely slow so slow. He was a nice guy but the whole ordering and getting food was snail paced. Then there was a woman who stood up and started yelling crazy talk about the service to the entire restaurant. That was very stressful bc staff just stood around and let her go off for a long time and now a day you have no idea if someone is going to go off the deep end. It was not a good evening.
Busy glad we made a reservation . Great service and delicious food
I tried to make a reservation with El Torito directly and they would not let me. I am so glad we made a reservation through OpenTable. When we arrived there was a very long wait so we were happy to be seated right away with our reservation. We had a table looking out at the water so that was nice. The food was good and the waiter was nice.
Beautiful view and great service.
I had stopped going to El Torito sometime before the pandemic because I thought the menu choices were limited and the food was only so-so. For Mother's Day my wife wanted to go back there, mostly because of the ocean view. I saw something on the menu, Slow Roasted Carnitas, that I hadn't seen before so I ordered it. It was by far the most delicious meal I'd ever had there. We went back last evening for my wife's birthday dinner. I ordered the Grilled BBQ Burrito, another menu item I hadn't seen previously. It was just as good as the Carnitas. I don't know when this happened but they've definitely stepped up their game.
The last few times at El Torito have not been the best, this time was even worse. Our waitress was never available. The food was minimal, what I ordered was good, Shrimp wrapped with Bacon, my daughter ordered Fajitas, which were also good. However my son, received raw meat and was unable to eat his and we had no one to tell (as our waitress was missing in action, my grandson had the little amigos fried chicken (it was very dry and old tasting. Finally, we sought the manager and he did his best to appease us, I cannot imagine how many he had to appease last evening....for no one that we could see had any type of service. We ate outside on the patio, perhaps inside was better.
Service was really slow. Waiter kept telling us that they only had one cook today and when we got there there were not many customers. The view was great, the staff was nice. The food is just mediocre
It’s a nice place to watch the boats & water at the marina if you get window seats. The value is good, not expensive and affordable. The food is a little better than average. The service is above average, quite attentive in checking our table. Overall I recommend this restaurant.
Dinner was great but the restaurant could not find the reservation. Fortunately they were not too busy so by the time we had a drink at the bar they were able to seat us.
Service was very slow and my friend and I both got sick after eating here.
Have a great dinner with the family..
Food and service was great.
I haven’t been to this El Torito for years but I think the taste of their food is not the same as before. The Buffalo wings was very salty and dry, the bacon wrapped shrimp was too sweet. Anyway, service was good and the view was amazing!
Had a great time at the El Torito restaurant in Marina Del Rey, California on Thursday, May 13, 2021. It’s located in the marina in Marina Del Rey and the view is out the window as I was eating my lunch was relaxing and tranquilizing! The manager with there is great. The service is great; the food is great; I highly recommend it.
Even with a reservation we had to wait 45 mins to be seated. Overall the service was poor. I would have been better off going somewhere else.
Although extremely busy which was understandable due to it being Mother’s Day, the food quality and service was excellent
The place and service was great. The food was okay, breakfast is not El Torito’s strong point apparently.
Great food. Great location and great drinks. We are planning to go back for Sunday Bruch.
I normally go for happy hour and have a good experience but Cinco de Mayo was apparently the wrong time to go. The service was horrible. We sat at our table for almost an hour without our food and drinks. Our server was dismissive and spilled my margarita when we were already ready to leave because it was so cold and windy. Everything was also overpriced for the holiday. I love the happy hour appetizers and margaritas, especially the queso and mini chimis but this bad experience was almost enough to make me not return.
Good food excellent service .outdoor patio lacking ambiance. Is in parking lot, breezy close to Marina bu a green rug or other to cover asphalt and parking lot would really add as would a few trees around the fence
We have a great waiter by the name of Ahmed, he was FANTASTIC!
Overall your menu is not good for people watching their sodium consumption! I had salad topped with shrimp. The shrimp were extremely salty!
The restaurant could have used some décor enhancement in the patio area. As it is it's just table and chairs on a concrete pad. Not very inviting.
We were at El Torito for lunch with friends, sitting outside by the water and it was a beautiful day.
Service was good and food was good too, nothing special about the food or out of the ordinary for Mexican food but was good and tasty.
Do recommend and we will be back.
Food came out wrong and cold, service was slow... really bad experience!
I was expecting a served buffet, we got a menu
Wait time with reservations was way too long.
Horrible service. Don’t think I will return. Very upsetting to be ignored. Smaller portions weaker drinks.
My experience at el toritos was wonderful , we was able to sit and eat by water
Had to wait 20 minutes with a reservation
Great food. Fantastic service, thank you Merribelle.
Good value. A fun evening. See you again soon.
The food lacked a lot of flavor. And considering the price of guacamole for the table I expected a lot more than was given. The margaritas were good. The view is stunning. I just wish the actual food would have been good enough for us to want to come back because the vibe and the area are worth it, but the food wasn’t.
Weekend Dining - good social distance and health measures. Indoor dining was good since we were there early . Outside dining available and perfect on a beautiful SoCal day. The food was delicious and the staff was very responsive . Looking forward to return for more churros pancakes! Oh, and great view of the marina too .
Perfect location, great food
Outstanding! By far the best Mexican food in the marina. Always consistent
Thank you El Torito! So glad you survived thru the pandemic.
The service was Amazing everyone was so helpful and happy really enjoyed it and it was so nice to be able to sit inside again
We enjoyed the food and the service
Thank you guys
We had an amazing time, all the staff was very friendly and attentive. Our waiter went above and beyond to make sure our food was on time, the drinks were delicious.
We will definitely go again soon
The food was disgusting the service was slow the restaurant was freezing cold they sat us next to someone that was extremely loud.... The floors were slippery
