El Torito - Laguna Hills
Using the freshest ingredients and boldest flavors, our menu offers a range of quintessential Mexican food, along with culinary innovations we know guests will love. We are known best for our tableside preparations, including our made-to-order guacamole and flame-grilled fajitas, which arrive sizzling to the table.
Our standard is great, and we don’t do anything without passion. Over 60 years, we’ve learned a lot about Mexican food, like how not to mess it up.
Aside from delay for 2 orders, my son's birthday party went very well. Employees were very friendly and accommodating for all the changes requested.
Average, a bit understaffed and took awhile but once food came it was good.
We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation time which was a plus since we went to brunch on Easter Sunday. There was a variety of selections to choose from and food looked pretty fresh with a nice presentation but many of the items were constantly running low and it took awhile for the staff to refill drinks and various dishes and desert station. Our server was constantly coming around refilling our champagne glasses and clearing dirty plates. Of it would not have been for the slowness of refilling empty stations our experience would have been outstanding.
Horrible. From being seated in the back on the patio with no linen or utensils to being moved to another table in the bar area. We made reservations because we wanted to be inside the restaurant. Yes there were only two of us but they kept seating tables of 3 that had come in after us! The hostess was not very pleasant and I’m sure she made it to where we would be sitting in the back of the bus! The servers were going nuts and they seated a table of 35 next to us. They were so rude with standing up and in our faces at our table that it why we had to move again. The brunch food was good but many of the food servers were using their hands to throw food on our plates. Yes they were gloved but a little etiquette goes a long way. I will never come here again.
Everything was wonderful, our server was oustanding.
Great and not crowded. Very attentive waiter and friendly.
Sunday Brunch for my mom’s birthday was great! Lots of yummy options.
Server was excellent and food good. Ordered extra corn cakes but got them as we were leaving.
We have been going here for years and this night was a nightmare! The service was terrible, the staff was rude and the manager was unhelpful. We waited over an hour for food and when a couple of the orders came out they were cold or completely wrong. Our waiter was never around and no one else would attempt to help us. Very bad experience!
Terrible service, cold food, after numerous asks had to get up on our own for water refills. New hot food arrived in waves so our table ate in shifts. Nothing offered (no discount, no free dessert, nothing) except an ask for us to come back anorher time and have a better experience. Never again!
El pastor tacos - good dish. The some pieces of meat were chewy and some has gristle. Had this dish at the el Torito near the airport and meat was better
Our server was great!! Funny and right there when needed
Spouse said the margarita was easy on the tequila.
We had a nice non-Valentines dinner on Valentines Day.
I Enjoyed going to El Torito. The food is always good, the ambience is nice, and the service is excellent. The only thing I miss our the tostadas they used to have
Service was slow. Getting the bill was even longer. Have not recieved my points yet!
A lady friend suggested the Sunday Brunch. Knowing how popular a Sunday Brunch could be, I was hoping they would take reservations on line ~ and they did. We had a 10:30am reservation, so I think we beat the crowd, which came about an hour later.
I was very surprised at the large - no - HUGE selection at the buffet. From seafood to omelets, to every imaginable Mexican dish, side dish and dessert. I was blown away by the incredible selection. Our server kept the champagne flowing and was ever attentive (I wish I had gotten his name for this review; I apologize).
Bottom line ~ I thought the Champagne Sunday Brunch was an excellent value and will likely be going back. I recommend it to anyone.
Great food, great service, good selection for vegetarians. $26.99 per adult. I don’t eat that much food and won’t be returning for brunch. Too expensive for the experience. I could have gone to a nicer Mexican food restaurant and gotten just as much food as I ate for the price.
Met a friend for dinner and the food and service were excellent.
Waitress was very friendly and provided excellent service!
Took 20 min to take our order, more than 30 more to get our food. With multiple kids complaining about being hungry it made for an awful night.
We were seated right away, no waiting, which was nice. The food was very good, as usual. It took a while to get a waisted to acknowledge we were there and then a while to get a drink order in. Our waiter seemed to be working by himself taking care of two rooms full of tables.
Love it here. Try and go at least once o month for Sunday brunch
