El Torito - Irvine
Using the freshest ingredients and boldest flavors, our menu offers a range of quintessential Mexican food, along with culinary innovations we know guests will love. We are known best for our tableside preparations, including our made-to-order guacamole and flame-grilled fajitas, which arrive sizzling to the table.
Our standard is great, and we don’t do anything without passion. Over 60 years, we’ve learned a lot about Mexican food, like how not to mess it up.
Quite pricey for food. Waiter was exceptional and the military discount was very helpful with large family.
We were visiting and the food was super fresh and delicious! We loved it.
Service was terrible. The server had no personality and was not friendly. Maybe she had too many tables? Not a fan will sway away from this restaurant.
Food took too long to come out and came out at different times. Waited very long for bill and had to go find the waitress. Food was good. Music was SOOO loud we had to ask for it to be turned down.
Steak fajitas plate way over priced for the skillet full of onions and bell peppers no steak really the cocktails are full of ice with like 5oz of actual drink
I have been seeking new places to dine while in Irvine, and came across El Torito.
After eating at some excellent Mexican restaurants in the San Diego area, my expectations were somewhat high.
Unfortunately, El Torito failed to even approach those much better restaurants.
First, the place just seemed dirty. The wrapped silverware had dried food stuck to it, and so I had to grab another, less filthy set, from a nearby table.
Next, the steak burrito that I ordered was huge, sloppy and had almost no steak in it. It was also not hot.
Finally, I ordered a spicy margarita, which was good (although it couldn’t have contained much alcohol, because it was large, but had no affect on me).
Unfortunately, I told my server that I would take another with dinner, but, it never arrived. So, I finished my burrito with nothing to drink... including no offer of water.
First and last visit.
Great food & service!
It was Easter Sunday. We were picking our granddaughter up at John Wayne that morning and wanted to find a brunch close by. Not only is this very close it was far above our expectations for a holiday. Even though the restaurant was very busy, we got seated immediately. We were very impressed with the multitude and variety of dishes that were offered. Every kind of mexican food along with omelettes made to order, ham & tri-tip carving station, and desserts. Our waiter kept our glasses filled with bottomless champagne/mimosas included in the $30 brunch price. Will definitely remember this next time we have a special occasion to celebrate!
Delightful young lady that was our server! Top notch. Food was ok, place was empty??
Very good service. Love how well they catered to us.
Friendly and attentive staff. Brunch was delicious and had a huge selection at a high but reasonable price. Restaurant was charming and clean. My only problem was that I couldn't find more forks, just spoons. Would absolutely come back for another brunch
Surprised that the food quality was mediocre, but the service is friendly and attentive.
Very dissatisfied. Had reservation and they set up a table in the middle of the bar where all the noise and commotion was and not conducive to a family dinner. Half the restaurant was empty. Made them seat us in the restaurant. Service very slow and poor as the waiter kept telling us how busy they were but half the restaurant was empty. Very poor management.
Excellent service. The staff went out of their way to give great, friendly service.
The server was the best ever. Everybody (10 people) had best time ever.
Went with my parents to enjoy dinner and happy hour.
Forgot to check in at the front desk.. but were offered free seating at the bar for Happy hour. Enjoyed dinner, everything was delicious, and team members were nice.
