My party really enjoyed our Sunday brunch at El Torito. The buffet lines have been rearranged since our last visit and it seemed like more people could be accommodated. The waits were not very long. We'll be back!

The good: had open reservation for Sunday brunch. Just 1 hour before. Bottle service was great. Seated a mere 8 feet from bar. Great variety of food from Mexican to American cuisine. Great value $35 out the door for all you can eat and drink champagne. Nice setting. Wasn't too crowded 9:45 to 11 in the cantina. Omellete was hearty and came very quickly . Staff was friendly and helpful. The bad: started off with three tacos, different meats and they were all temperature cold. Asked the posole (Great that they had it) for a dash of red pepper and he must have put a whole teaspoon. Also the posole /menudo bar was at same bar as fresh fruit and salads was serviced only one person so that line backed up at times. The Chile Colorado and birria de res was terrible.

Crazy experience.. Don’t go here unless you have a lot of time to spend. We were here for a birthday dinner and didn’t even have anyone come by our table for drink orders until over 30 mins had passed, and we had to go ask the host in order to get the server to come by the first time. We ended up being there for about 3 hours and we had to get up again and find a manager in order to get the check to leave.

It was Mother’s Day. Having said that, it was chaotic, the lines for every station was so long. I waited in the taco station just to be told they were out of carne asada. I then went to the only station that had no line the roast and ham station and waited for at least 10 minutes for aomeone to help me I had to ask 3 different employees if I could get help. Our waitress never came back to refill our Mimosas. I had to ask the busboy and hostess. The restaurant really needs to be better prepared for Mother’s Day. Maybe another time would be better

We have been coming to this Cypress El Torito for brunch for years and it never disappoints. We also make sure to come on Mother’s Day which makes it even more challenging for the staff due to the large groups. This past Mother’s Day was no different, excellent service and friendly staff. Given the pressure of so many people waiting to be seated and inside the restaurant eating, they did an amazing job. We will continue to come back and enjoy the food and experience.

Good food. Our table was unbalanced so it made it difficult to try to eat with the up and down motion of the table rocking. Our waiter was good but he was so busy, he couldn't check on us like he was suppose to. I would recommend El Torito/Cypress with an explanation!

I loved the Buffett and bottomless mimosas. Tons of food options. The problem was the lack of kids food. They had NO chicken strips the entire time we were there even though we asked a manager about it. The mini corn dogs were hard and old. My son had nothing to eat besides chips and fries. And it was $12 per child. It was so loud we had to yell to hear each other.

We had a great time celebrating our daughter’s Birthday. Our server “Arturo” was very polite, kind and helpful from start to finish. One down side I do have to mention I had ordered a Virgin Pina Colada Margarita for my wife and daughter and instead of bringing it on a nice glass like it’s usually served the gentleman in the bar served in t on a regular Pepsi plastic cup. Not cool at all. My wife and daughter was very disappointed and so was I. But overall we had a good time, thanks to an amazing server Arturo!

So disappointing! I went with my sister to celebrate my birthday so I had the free entree offer to use. I also wanted to use the free entree that I was promised a few weeks earlier when I ordered Salmon Vera Cruz through DoorDash. I called El Torito and spoke to Maggie the manager. I told her that I had the dish there before and what I received that night did not resemble in any way what I had enjoyed before. Besides a dry piece of salmon, it was sitting on top of mostly raw veggies and even a stray piece of potato that somehow got into the dish. If I was in the restaurant I would have sent it back but in this case I was offered a free meal. Maggie, the manager was nice enough to allow me to use both offers on the same night. Very nice. However, once again, the fish tacos that both my sister and I ordered were more than disappointing. The fish, which was hard to even find, was cold and dried up. The very nice (and overworked) waitress, Gloria, offered to bring a side dish of more fish. The fish she brought was hot and juicy. Why wasn't that fish served with the original tacos? I used to be a fan of El Torito. What has happened?

We had reservations at 5:30 for 6 people. The drinks were fine and came out quickly. Our food order took 45 minutes! There were people we sat down after us, had dinner, and left before we got our dinners. It was a disappointing experience in which the manager made no offer to compensate us the poor experience.

For a large group it was very smooth night. The only downfall was only being able to split the check in two which for a group of 20 is a little hard. Overall we made it work and it was a good place for our group.

Had 5:30pm reservations, were seated at 5:45pm. The seating staff seemed to not be well versed on table availability even though the place was sparsely populated with customers. Ordered Sopes as an appetizer, but the main meal showed up BEFORE that, so we refused the Sopes. Main meal was served on a plain plate as opposed to prior orders for the same meal that were served on a blue printed platter. Quantities of all offerings on the plate were much less than our previous visits. Good food, but meager portions. Increased prices is expected, but low quantity is not. We are regular visitors at El Torito in Cypress, and our requested server is attentive. We will try one more time to see if things improve. After that, Bye-Bye.

Because of happy hours, the place was very noise. It was hard for us to have a quiet dinner. It took so long (about 45mins) to received the meal. Ms. Gloria, a waitress was excellent! I don’t like the extra service charge was added onto my bill.
