What Insiders Are Saying
A rooftop bar in the Mission, El Techo de Lolinda is where you should be when the sun's out.
Food’s pretty expensive and service can be spotty; however, it’s tasty and you can’t beat the ambiance!
My beignets were still raw in the middle. The staff was friendly and apologetic about the error. My benedictos plate of food was cold. The beignets were correctly cooked the second time. The cocktail (Paloma) was good. Glad they had the plastic covers to shield from the smoky air.
I went for tacos but it wasn't an option. I may have gone at a wrong time (brunch). But the vibe was awesome, people were beautiful but the food options I wish were more.
Food was decent. Mixed up the meat versus the vegetarian huevas when serving. Food has good flavor but was semi warm when plated. Desert was good but coffee was absolutely border line cold. Server was nice . Overall mediocre. Would not return for seconds by choice
Food was meh BUT amazing view and ambiance. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing for brunch (Huarache). I’ll give it another try though.
This was my 3rd time at El Techo- Food is excellent, service is very poor.
We come here for the atmosphere and nothing else. The food is ok and the service is terrible. We would have ordered more drinks but the waitresses don't bother to come around.
Every time I walk by this place mommy and I see a line. Always wondered what was up? Is there a bingo game? Lol. We live in SF so as you know there are way too many places to eat and we like so many others have our favorites we like to frequent. For a little change of pace decided to see what fuss is about. I read on the web site this is "street mexican food" I'm not sure where but heck I'd like to check them out.
Lol! It was only our 1 visit but pretty darn good. I had the Benedictos and mommy had the Vegetarian Scrabble. Plus we munched on guacamole and chips. YUMMY! We shared w/hostess our 1st visit and she suggested we should check out a dinner. She saw my mom's a senior so she suggested we should return earlier in week not during end of week so she would be more comfortable. Mommy liked that and had me promise we're gonna return to see. Excited to check out the dinner menu. Thanks for a nice 1st visit. Our food server was super and she actually suggested our meals and hostess was nice.
Loved the food (chorizo scramble, huarache, bunuelos) , loved our server, and the 270-degree view of San Francisco is really splendid. I don't know of another place in SF like it. What I was not so fond of: too noisy for easy conversation (how can an outdoor restaurant be so LOUD?) and diners too tightly packed at micro-tables. My chair was kicked by passing waitstaff at least 10 times. All the seating is on high stools without backs, so if you have children or any mobility or comfort issues you may want to look elsewhere.
I felt very welcomed and service was fast and friendly. I will come back again!
The rooftop view of the city is amazing. Definitely a place to bring your friends and family. Probably one of the best spots for brunch in SF. The food was amazing. So good I ordered another plate! Can’t wait to come back. Make sure to reserve in advance.
Neat find. Good food. Great view and awesome for people watching. Service ia friendly, but slow.
Went for my birthday. Had a very nice view. We enjoyed the brunch. We would recommend to our close friends.
Amazing place! Dope Drinks, great food, music playing. Killer views.
-Shrimp Ceviche & Guac were nice & fresh
-Cocktails (Agua Fresca mimosa & Belafonte) were mixed really well
-Benedictos were bursting with complex flavors
-Then the Buñuelos stole the show...
Awesome brunch, tasted good, servers were chill yet nice! Everything was perfect!
Food was just ok. Busboy cleared our table prematurely taking our chips and salsa while we were still eating without asking....a little disappointing really!
Brunch was good, but noise level was really high. Seemed like everyone nearby was drunk at 1 pm. Probably will pass on brunch and save that sort of atmosphere for a boozy dinner.
Food was fantastic. My portion was a little smaller than I’d want. Service was a little slow.
Overall the restaurant has a good vibe but is extremely loud. We waited for a while to have a server offer us drinks...seems like they need more servers on the weekends. Food was delicious but very small portions for the price.
Breakfast food was nothing special. Never been there for dinner. Drinks are pretty good. But you’re really just paying for the view and ambiance
Mom was visiting
I love this place. It was my second visit and it was even better than the first. Our server was great, lots of fun. The food is excellent. The restroom was spotless. Can't wait to go back.
El Techo is always a great spot to catch up with friends over delicious food and a few drinks!
Food portions small and overpriced. Go for the view and drinks only.
el Techo is really consistent, that’s what i love about it. Always great, always a little boozy 😉
I was surprised how good it was.
Great place for a beautiful, sunny day! Plus you can make reservations for brunch. Only thing was we had our food before our drinks came, but otherwise everything was great.
Food and service perfect! Party of 7 and everyone enjoyed their food and pitchers of margaritas made the brunch fantastic!
This is a great place for brunch! I got the chorizo scramble and it was delicious. Not only is the food delicious, but the city views from the rooftop are just incredible. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Best carnitas I’ve ever had! Will go back every time I’m in the city! Beautiful city views!
Amazing location with awesome authentic food and cocktails. We did not want to leave. Service was good if a bit grumpy!!
Wished el techno would accommodate better for birthdays! But at least the waitress brought out our ordered dessert with a candle!
The view is terrific if you're seated along the edge, which is bar seating with a very narrow bar rail. Otherwise, the tables are jammed to close together and it's such a hot-spot with the 20 somethings that it's often loud and rambunctious and you're likely to be sat in a location where you can't see the view. The food was average for San Francisco and the waitstaff are the same age and temperament as the clientele.
Food good but not outstanding. Served plain white sliced toast with scramble. Should have done better - even biscuit used in poached eggs. Fun atmosphere with view. Casual simple. Service ok. We had brunch so maybe regular menu is different.
What a great brunch. Great service, great food. Beautiful view!
One of the only rooftop bar/restaurants in San Francisco and it was a glorious day for a Sunday brunch celebrating my friend's birthday. Stunning view of city, great food and service, and windscreens/umbrellas for shade. They have heaters too, but not needed.
Great spot for brunch & dinner. Wonderful view of the city and great place to celebrate
Great food. Great view when the weathers is nice. Can get crowded so make reservations even for brunch.
Great views, one-of-a-kind rooftop ambiance for this part of SF. There are tasty drinks and yummy food. The service is a bit rough around the edges, but I wouldn't let that stop you from visiting.
