Wonderful ambiance. The service was very good. The fajitas were very tasty. Our grandchildren enjoyed their meals from the kids menu. Great fried ice cream to top it off.

Worst dinner ever. Restaurant wasn’t honoring reservations, went on a wait list when we got there. They then stuck us in the bar. The bartender served us. Got chips and salsa, no bowl. It took 20 min for him to take our order, then we got our food 40 min later. All the time, they take out food was steady out the door. Apparently they were more important. Table and menus went clean. The food came out on hot plates but the food was not. People that arrived later than us that sat in the dining room were finished dinner and left 20 min before us. Took 15 min to get the check while the bartender went to bus tables in the dining room. 6:15 reservation and we got out at 8:30. Most horrible experience. This is usually really good , they have gone downhill.

Wonderful serving staff. They took excellent care of us - helping us celebrate my father in law's 93rd birthday.

We always enjoy having dinner at El Serrano. The salmon special was exceptional. The creamy lemon sauce had just enough tartness to brighten and enhance the flavor of the salmon. My husband loved his dinner as well.

It had been a while since we'd been here. We moved to a different part of town and just didn't think of restaurants in that area as much. So glad we went on open table because it popped up and we were both excited to go again. Their salsa to start is great! We enjoyed a Peruvian and Mexican lager which were both tasty. We tried shrimp chimichangas for the first time (usually go with beef or chicken) and they were delicious. But the star of the meal was the Lomo Saltado with beef! It's such a simple dish but done to perfection! It won't be as long before we return.

El Serrano is a Peruvian restaurant in an area that most people don't know or appreciate the difference between Peruvian and Mexican. Not that I do really, no attitude. El Serrano has been a family favorite for us for going on 30 years. This is the best Peruvian restaurant anywhere near, and the best "Mexican" restaurant anywhere near. Check your calendar, make a reservation. Repeat.

I have a hard time coming here and not getting the fajitas, they are so good! Rosalie is an excellent server, friendly and very attentive.

Food was excellent. We tried several different apps, tapas, entrees, drinks, and desserts, and everything was excellent. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Honestly, one of the best we’ve ever had, and I worked in restaurants for years. Highly recommend El Serrano. Wonderful experience.

Peruvian cuisine is not cooked properly. Beef was burned.

Went for a special occasion & the staff was very accommodating. Food was delicious as always.

Salmon del Sur was excellent. Peruvian dish made with wild caught salmon. Will definitely order again

This was our first visit to El Serrano in several years. We don'y go because we just do not think about it because of its location. The service was outstanding and the food excellent.

We were celebrating my husband's birthday with friends. It was a great evening.

Although I had to wait for my requested table a little too long, The food and service were great!

Well, can’t say enough about how great our meal was. We had our own little “room” which was great during these COVID times. The food and wine were amazingly good... so good that there was barely a crumb left on our plates and we had dessert.

Excellent as always

The only issue we had was that our pork chops and pollo fundido lacked some of the usual fajita seasoning. Otherwise, all good.

Always an excellent meal here with excellent service. Great to find such service during the pandemic. Glad they are open and serving indoors. Don't hesitate to try El Serrano - York if you haven't already. Salsa and chips are excellent.

Valentines Day dinner for my husband and I- service was slow and inattentive. All other servers visited their tables to offer a “last call” as the bar is required to close early due to COVID. Our server came 15 minutes too late so we only got one drink the entire night. Food was of good portion-sizes but pretty bland. I’ve also been to the restaurant in Lancaster and had a much better experience.

Food was adequate, service was decent. I think the quality overall has really gone down hill since COVID. They now have a cheaper liquor license so the options are very limited.
There were like 7 different types of bourbon but not one vodka selection. Very few wine options as well.

The food is authentic and fabulous every time I come here. One of my favorites for sure!

Been enjoying El Serrano for 15 years now. The family and I patronize at least once a week if not more. Absolutely love the owners and their wonderful attentive staff. Not to mention the food is out of this world! Never had a dish I didn’t enjoy!
