Our dinner at El Serrano was very pleasant. There were six of us. Our waiter, Felix, was very attentive during our dinner. He answered questions, explained some menu choices and giving us separate checks was no big deal. He was accommodating to one in our group who has a food allergy and another who is a vegetarian. Our food and drinks were delicious.
Our waiter was great! Welcoming, knowledgeable and assisted us with making great choices for food and alcohol. Pomegranate MArgaritas were fantastic! Loved the Fahitas!
My family & I love going to El Serrano on a Sunday night, with the entertainment by Dante. The food is always delicious.
Excellent food! I Would highly recommend for lunch.
Definitely a break from the norm for the area. The restaurant itself was very cute, great ambience, and service was good. For me, where it was lacking was the food. Having eaten a lot of Peruvian food I was expecting more flavors and spices - it had definitely been “westernized” for the locals. That being said - We will be going back and I’ll be trying other dishes. They also have hot sauces and salsas they will bring out if you need more flavor/spice.
Service, Brent or Brandt was very good and fast. Very crowded; somewhat noisy. Wine list limited.
El Serrano has maintained its high quality over the years. From the complimentary salsa and fresh chips to the end of the meal, the food and drink were outstanding. Despite being very busy, the service was excellent. And of course there is Dante, the whistling troubadour who is usually their Friday nights. He is always great. Reservations are highly recommended.
Very romantic atmosphere...Food was well priced and tasty..
Was there years ago and it was great. Took a date there on Friday and I was embarrassed. Big hand painted help wanted sign in the entry way. Chaotic attempt to seat us. Food presentation was from the 80s and the food itself was nothing special at all.
I ordered a taco salad that was so small I was shocked.
Once & done
They need to improve their sides for fajitas such as better tomatoes, cheese, lettuce.
Food was undercooked
Guacamole lacked flavor
Fried ice cream was as soft as a milkshake all over the plate
2nd time in a row with bad food
Lots of fun. Music and ambiance was a little loud but not overly so. Food was great and so were the drinks. You could tell they were understaffed but not by much.
We got off to a bad start when we weren't seated for our 7:30 reservation until almost 8:00, but the food, waiter, and owner made the actual dining experience exceptional. I'm anxious to try their other specialty restaurants when they reopen after remodeling after the food and service experience in the main restaurant.
Our server Mary was amazing 😉
Even though she wasn’t working the bar the night we had dinner she personally made us drinks 🍷 she thought we would like. We told her to surprise us! We loved them. We will be back!
They were very accommodating for our quarterly meeting/luncheon.
VERY NICE BEING ABLE TO RESERVE A TABLE ON LINE, MAKES DINING SO MUCH EASIER. WE WERE SEATED IN A NICE AREA, QUIETER THAN USUAL. SERVICE COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE BETTER, NOT SURE IF SHE WAS NEW OR NOT (M FAYRA), COFFEE WAS VERY STRONG AND NOT GOOD..........OTHER THAN THAT FOOD WAS GREAT AND ATMOSPHERE IS ALWAYS WONDERFUL.
Food was delicious. Service was a bit slow as the server asked us for our order and we asked for a few minutes and then did not seem him for a prolonged amount of time.
I tried a new dish tonight and it was Tilapia with crab meat and omg it was soo good. Was a little disappointed they had no fried ice cream but the dinner made up for it.
I have been to El Serrano several times. It never disappoints. It is one of the most attractive restaurants in the area, with both bright and dark areas, private booths and clusters of tables, all with an old Spanish feel, rather than the more common Tex-Mex decor.
The food, as well, is lovely. There are the usual favorites like fajitas and chiles relleno, but many Peruvian dishes add variety and interest to the menu. And the tapas restaurant on the second floor, by the same owner, is a special experience quite separate from El Serrano.
I would urge anyone within driving distance to give El Serrano a try.
Absolutely love this place! My fiancé and I have been several times and each time we come we always get amazing service and outstanding food! This time we went we had a special occasion to celebrate and it was perfect! We chose this night because Dante was playing live, it was magnificent! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for outstanding food and fabulous service with a great atmosphere! Also don’t forget to get the house made sangria! 😊
The place is huge and well attended. All 5 star reviews from what we saw. We noticed an abundance of fajita orders which admittedly liked and smelled delicious as they were delivered by carts rattling loudly over the appropriate Latin inspired stone floors. We ordered more esoteric dishes from the tapas and Peruvian menu. The appetizers - guacamole under ripe avocados and under seasoned. Papa rellenas were ok but the abundance of potato overwhelmed the subtle flavors in the filling. Paqeutitos were small, under filled and so perfectly uniform I would guess these are delivered and fried from frozen. Same goes for the empanadas whose uniform appearance is a giveaway. The flavor of the dough was sweet and the filling was different and in our opinion not in a good way. These are non traditional empanadas so more that when trying. The Peruvian dinners, limited and lomo saltado were just OK. The lomo was the best in terms of seasoning the other was bland. The tacos and burritos were standard and good. Rice and beans were also good but not so much to make it worth a trip service was prompt and attentive despite how busy they are. People in Lancaster really seem to like this place. We won’t be back, we just feel there are better options. In summary service and ambiance are great, food is not the star of the evening. For our dollars, it needs to be
We had a very enjoyable visit, we were taking a friend out for her birthday. Everything was good, but it was clear that our waitress was a little overwhelmed. She did forget a few things and she was not very personable. The food was good and the ambiance was great, so we had a good evening.
Service was wonderful. Our server was attentive and helpful. Nice ambience. The food , however, was blah. Bland, flavorless, mediocre. Chili rellanos were soggy and barely have cheese. Salsa was watery . I noticed tilapia was on the menu. Tilapia is not a healthy fish to eat. It’s a bottom feeder. Farm raised in filthy water. My guess is a lot of the food is frozen , from a can or ready made. Did not taste fresh. I hate to sound negative but if you are expecting fresh and authentic tasting food, you’ll be disappointed.
Wonderful, authentic Peruvian food.
When I got there, I asked ifmy friend had arrived and I was told no. They sat me at a very nice table which allowed me to see that my friend had also been seated at a different table.
The server, Matt was awesome! We were there for a birthday and he could not have made us feel more welcome!
Great food and friendly service!
We have visited El Serrano twice now as a group . Both times were lovely. We all just loved Owen. He was very attentive to our needs ad provided great service! We will be back!
We celebrated our daughters bday! Everything was great!
Everything was great, except the floors - quite sticky for guests and servers. They did not look dirty, but they represented a hazard.
Great evening. We sat outside and listened to live music by Dante. We’ve be coming to this restaurant for 20 years. It’s always a great experience. We sat and ate and then just sat and listened to music for an hour. Out server Felix was spectacular. Best service I’ve ever had. Actually gave him a 50% tip it was that good.
The only unfavorable experience is the parking area.
Enjoyed dining in the courtyard and listening to Dante’s wonderful music on such a beautiful evening.
We went to El Serrano the other night for dinner, and was a little disappointed. Hadn't been there for awhile and always had a good experience. The food just wasn't was good as I remembered. We took friends along and we had raved about this place, but let down. we were seated at a table back by the bathrooms. No atmosphere. Food was a little overpriced. Especially the margarita. So small and almost all ice.
Great place, terrific food and wonderful service
The service and food were excellent. Our table was a bit close to two other tables, we could hear their conversation and I’m sure they could hear us. The restaurant was medium full so there was no reason to cluster guests so closely together.
Owen, our server, was polite, friendly and attentive. He remembered we were there to celebrate a birthday, we were impressed!
My daughter and granddaughter came from Bethlehem to celebrate an early birthday and, as you know, we could have picked from over 100 restaurants. Keep up the good work!
Food was fantastic!
El Serrano’s is a very special place, with beautifully carved wood architecture, amazing food, lovely atmosphere, and good service! Our favorite is Lomo Saltado, a delicious Peruvian dish, and of course, ask for the green picante sauce to add on top!
You can’t beat the Lomo Soltado!!! One if my favorite restaurants!
