Excellent drinks and food. Very attentive service. Got a bit noisy as the evening went on but that seems to be expected as the place filled up. We never felt rushed and had a very relaxing evening.
We came here to celebrate my husband’s birthday and they treated us so well and the food was amazing! They really put a lot of thought into their decor and you must order drinks too! They made us feel really special and we can’t wait to come back again.
Excellent food, superb drink options and good service.
Great food and service!
If you go, you have to order the traditional ceviche. It's excellent, same for the pisco sour. The entrees were very good, thought the rice and beans that came with my shortribs were average.
The service was *truly* exceptional and friendly. Will definitely return!
The restaurant was so cold I, and others, had to keep our coats on.
Starting from the hostess she was very nice and kind. She has the table ready as soon we got there.
Server Rony very attentive, nice and kind. He was very professional and give us all the time we need it.
Drinks were very good and tasting the passion fruis pisco was very good a little to much of lime juice but was very good!!
Thank you chef for the food all the food was veryyy veryyy good the only thing I didn’t like personal it was the donuts.
The ambiance music everything was very nice and very beautiful restaurants!!!
We will back!
Love the ambiance, attentive service & delicious menu. Highly recommend the wings and seco de res!
First time at El Secreto and I will be back! We were celebrating my partner’s birthday and the staff went above and beyond. All of the food was incredible and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
Amazing! Quality of food and service was great. Will come back again.
Super hospitable! Loved everything about our experience, the restaurant is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the service is warm and inviting.
Highly recommended for any occasions.
Awesome service. Very attentive. Great atmosphere.
One dish was not to our taste, but they more than made up for it. We will definitely return.
Excellent food. Cool decor. Warm, loud and fun.
What a wonderful discovery. Delicious, affordable Haute, tasty Peruvian fare in rational portions with attentive service in a great space with nicely crafted drinks.
A great cuisine done wonderful well. Unobtrusive music, among the chandeliers and wall art, allow conversation at around 70 decibels. Even a fabulous book nearby if conversation strays away from the funky bohemian decor that takes you back to stylish Barranco. It’s Peruvian at its best. Sadly, it lacks in desserts. No picarones is no fun!
The owner is Ecuadorian, the cooks Colombian and the servers, eager and warmly efficient from Peru and everywhere, conjure up the best of Peru and create an worthy experience.
Looking forward to coming back to explore more of their Highly recommended!
The food tasted good, service was great, and we felt the culinary experience was fairly priced.
Ceviche was obviously from frozen fish. Not even good. Nothing compared to La Limeña’s or Sardi’s. The shrimp appetizer I thought were going to be prawns not tiny shrimp. The lomo saltado was fine but not memorable at all. Got the small doughnuts for dessert. They were hard and chewy
Will not go back nor recommend. What a pity with good food that place would be hopping
Fantastic experience all around. The service and food were amazing. This was a business dinner and I was meeting a POC for a funder for the first time in person. We were able to take our time and thoroughly enjoy a cocktail, wine and delicious food. Thank you for the amazing service.
We came for a birthday and they really spoiled us! The decor is really nice, we liked the waiters' styles. The ceviche was excellent. Downside were 1. the glasses of wine, both which were a bit too warm and not aerated enough and 2. The quality of the entrées: the flavors were not sophisticated, which didn't really match the place. Maybe try for lunch?
Milad was wonderful! We had a great time celebrating our birthday!
The space is like walking into paradise. Service and food were both excellent.
Very warm and inviting place. Food and drinks good, but not over-the-top special. An excellent place for a socially oriented get together.
Really solid food and drink. Excellent, personable service and cool decor.
It was a great restaurant. The decor, the service, and the food. I definitely be coming back.
Really had a great meal and service was good too. We’ll go back for sure
Fun place. Great food and variety. Good wine list. Friendly and attentive service.
Great food, great atmosphere, and a wonderful experience overall- we will be back.
The food was GREAT, loved the attention to detail from the staff. Everyone was attentive, professional and pleasant. Even the Chef came out to greet and thanks us...what an amazing surprise! I had a great birthday celebration at El Secreto de Rosita. I can't wait to return.
The food, ambiance and service were excellent. We were very pleased with the dishes and drinks we ordered. The waiters were attentive and nice.
This is the second time we visit the restaurant and the experiences were different. This last time, we were extremely disappointed by the 1 hour and 40 minute wait time for our food. It was frankly unacceptable. That definitely put a damper on our evening and our guests' experience of the place.
Great service delicious food but the dining area was really loud which made conversation difficult.
The service was great- so friendly, funny and even gave a dessert for my friend d birthday. The vibe was so fun- great decor and the food was amazing! Will definitely be back.
Ceviche was very good. Drinks, fried calamari, salad, and arroz con mariscos were just ok (with the exception of the mussels in the arroz which were fishy tasting) but nothing special. We did mention our disappointment with the mussels to the waiter who said he would let the kitchen know but we never heard anything further.
Tuna Taradito was bland and almost tasteless. Did not looked as appealing as website pic. Cocktails were excellent though. Our mains tasted good. Nothing exceptional. Service irratic. Nice ambiance a plus.
Amazing service and delicious food. Such a great find
Visited from Houston
I really loved this place. The food, drinks and service. I really wish we could have ate inside because it was lovely and which was the very reason why I booked to begin with. We arrived and were seated in the very front of the restaurant by the door, so I was facing the street and tents, not scenery I signed up for. I also got bit by mosquitos that evening which cut our evening so quick. I was so disappointed. I hope to get better seating if I return next time.
It was delicious! But I may be biased because I grew up with Peruvian food.
The food at El Secreto de Rosita was really outstanding! We loved the ceviche and the aji de gallina - both were so delicious and well-executed! The host was so kind, too - I called a few times to make sure the table was ready and right for our anniversary dinner and they were so accommodating and friendly! And they brought us champagne when we arrived, which was very sweet. The service could have been sharper, though - they didn't see we needed silverware and brought our appetizer before we had it and had to ask for some. And the pacing was sluggish. Drinks were nice and overall really liked the atmosphere, music carried to the terrace seating, which felt private due to some discrete fencing. The only thing missing for us is more vegetable options on the menu and entrees, but a really great spot! Will hope to try again for drinks and small plates, too! :)
The place was nice enough, but the staff was overwhelmed. Nobody seemed to have food on the table as we waited an hour for an appetizer, after it taking 15 minutes to be spoken to by a waiter. The food wasn't good enough to make the wait worthwhile.
