   Lovely last night in BCN. The staff, the food, the chef, the service, it was all excellent. I will recommend this restaurant over and over again.

   El Salón was our favorite restaurant during our month long trip to Barcelona. As we walked past one evening, it looked so warm and inviting that we tried it that night. We are so glad we did, we made a reservation for our final night, too. The tables are well spaced and set in a country style, with substantial flatware, candles, cloth napkins and runners down the center. There are menus in Spanish, Catalan and English and on both occasions our waiters were helpful with efficient service. The food is the star here. Tasty olives and crusty bread were brought out and then we began with really beautiful, fresh salads. I had a rocket with pear and jamon while my husband enjoyed spring greens with avocado, tomato and bacon. We each had entrees of good portion, grilled sea bass, asparagus and tomato and lamb chops with a potato gratin and a lemony sauce. We ended our meal sharing a creamy Catalan custard for desert and coffee. Everything was delicious. We’ve already put El Salón on our list of recommendations when in Barcelona!

   The restaurant is beautiful, quaint; however, menu is limited. The wine list only offers one wine by glass and they don’t serve cocktails. My son ordered the tuna and it tasted fishy and was too flat to be tuna. My seabass, was not seabass. More like striped bass or catfish. It wss overcooked. They also over flamed the creme brûlée. It also looked like they gave us a plate of olives with a half eaten olive in the dish! The salad was ok. I would not recommend this restaurant!

   An amazing experience for our family of four in the heart of the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona. Each menu item was creative and tasted incredible! The wine list was excellent and the recommendation from our server was perfect.

    This restaurant is amazing. The food is fabulous and the service was great. Our waiter Fabio was professional and very attentive. We highly recommend this place to anyone and we would go back in a heartbeat. By far, our best restaurant experience in Barcelona (where we enjoyed quite a few good restaurants). This place is a gem.
