El Poquito, a Mexican Cantina, pronounced (el-poe-kee-toe), means “the little one” in Spanish, named after a fabled Mexican cafe racer that rode up and down the coast of Mexico and California. El Poquito is a traditional cantina featuring classic and modern tacos, ceviches and housemade guacamole, as well as an abundant selection of tequilas, mezcals, margaritas and a variety of Mexican and domestic beers. Recently awarded Open Table's 2019 Diners Choice for Best Outdoor Dining, El Poquito offers one of the largest patios in Philadelphia, perfect for gatherings with friends and families as well as several options for private dining and events. Additional parking is located behind the restaurant for patrons to conveniently pick up take out orders. Due to the volume and high demand, patio seating is based on a first come, first serve, basis - although we do our best to accommodate reservations.

We made this reservation in hopes that this Mexican restuarant was celebrating Day of the Dead, but when we arrived it was quite and not very busy—not a celebration in sight. Luckily the food wasn’t bad.
