Open air sun-drenched rooftop taco bar located on the roof of Magpie & Stump in the heart of downtown Banff. A local favourite for fresh Mexican eats, tikki cocktails and casual drinks. Menu hits include loaded nachos, huge burritos, fresh salads, and of course tacos.

Open-air fiestas are our area of expertise, serving up margaritas and cervezas under the Banff sky to the sounds of local DJs.

*In case of inclement weather, your reservation will be moved downstairs to the Magpie & Stump where the same menu is available.

We visited El patio during happy hour on a sunny Monday in early June. We absolutely loved the vibe and the tacos were delicious. We tried the pork, chicken and beef tacos - all were great - we upgraded a couple of them to Gorditos - a good move. Our Chilean waitress was super friendly and provided great service.

Food was cold ( tacos) every tortilla literally crumbled like hard shell, the queso was amazing. Our server forgot about our order/table then we received all food at once ( once again cold tacos) we got margs when we should’ve just had water. I’ve have 10x better from a plastic bottle overall disappointing, the roof top patio was neat and the ambience was nice.

Food and value were good. My tacos arrived before my chips and salsa and quac. Waiter just said that he didn't know the tacos would be out so soon. Drink was good. Had been recommended by a local, so I was a little disappointed in the overall experience.

We made reservations for 6 p.m. worked well. the restaurant was less than half full. We got the worst table even though we had reserved right when you came up the stairs. There were other free tables, this was clearly visible on the reservation tablet/app. The person ushering the table even ran into the tablet because we were sitting there. unfortunately weak. Tacos weren't too bad. The shrimp, chicken and beef taco were the best. Taco flatbreads are not made from corn. The typical Mexican taco flat taste was missing.
