Armando is the consummate host!
He represents Alex and the family in welcoming you to their family-friendly, festive establishment.
We are so happy whenever we visit, we eat delicious, well-prepared nom noms, and drink delicious alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The pork dishes are magnificent, the homemade chips, salsa, and guacamole, amazing, the peanut butter stuffed jalapeños - wow!- and the margaritas, well, you’ll have to check those out for yourselves!
Do yourselves a favor and get to El Parador pronto!
Excellent service and wide selection of items on menu. Delicious from appetizer to dessert.
Special place. Great food & service. Much more elevated experience than it looks from the outside. Yet casual/comfortable. First time; will be back!
Amazing food! The salsa was incredible, and the tortilla chips were so warm and crunchy! We could not stop eating them. The enchiladas and ceviche were to die for as well!
The finest authentic Mexican in America, bar none. Also, the finest margarita and chips and salsa. Really a hidden gem. Fine food.
Wonderful as always
Restaurant looked like it was in repair so everyone was cramped down in the basement. Uncomfortable but food remains outstanding. Just wished someone told us this.
The best of the best Mexican in a classic, old (in the BEST way possible) and established restaurant that should never be overlooked when Mexican is on your mind! I’ve been eating here for 12 years and haven’t been anything but amaZed and full and happy on my way out the door!
Wonderful evening with great food and service.
Best Margaritas too!
Incredible food! Our go to place.
Excellent décor, service and food. Will definitely go again.
Excellent service. Varied menu with creative presentation. Delicious appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
Was very happy with this restaurant. It was my mom's anniversary and they just loved it. Will definitely go again. Lobster salad and fish tacos were outstanding.
Food has deteriorated greatly. What used to be a gem of Spanish dining has transformed into downscale, flavorless Mexican. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. We have issued approximately 675 reviews on OpenTable in the past three years of almost 700+ reservations. This restaurant ranks in the bottom 10.
Not too big of a space, but very cozy. Food was delicious, portions above average, priced reasonably, and service was fine. Been there before and I plan to be back.
This place was great! I loved the décor and the staff was very friendly. They did take our chips and salsa away a bit early without asking, but overall it was an awesome experience. I would go back there again.
The food is "real" Mexican and very good. An old favorite.
Really warm good feeling Mexican restaurant . Didn’t rush us at all. Great paella
Came here for a birthday and it was awesome! Food was so delicious and portions were very generous. Our servers were excellent!! Had the best time and would definitely recommend for high quality mexican food in the city!
Went to dinner with friends on Saturday night and had a wonderful meal . Service and ambiance were excellent . Good neighborhood find
Highly recommend the stuffed jalapeños and corn on the cob. The cornbread was also exceptional. The chicken mole was delicious and it’s enough to feed 3 to 4 people. The service was good, the drinks were great. Overall a good place for a casual dinner.
This is the oldest Mexican restaurant in NYC and i love it. Love the ambiance, the food and the history.
Went for a birthday dinner and the service was incredible, and food was delicious!
So good!!! Highly recommend the mole poblano on anything
El Parador never disappoints. My wife and her family have been going there for over 40 years and now I, new to the family, am enjoying it as well. My wife and I celebrated our marriage there 3 1/2 years ago. We love the food, the ambiance, the service...everything!
Great homey, cozy Mexican. Food was excellent as was the service. Will definitely return!
The margarita was good. All the staff was very friendly, courteous, and professional. The lobster ceviche looked beautiful and tasted great. The fish tacos were expensive, bland, and boring. The tres leches was also very bland. The Mexican hot chocolate was too sweet for my taste. I was very well treated and was made comfortable, but the food was mostly disappointing. I would try it one more time—perhaps I ordered all the wrong things.
We met to hang out after not seeing each other for a while. The friendly staff did not rushed us. Enjoyed the beauty of the place, and it was quiet enough for us to talk! Food was good too.
Very good food, I recommend 100% good location friendly staff
Our go to in NYC. Never fails. Feels like family to us.
ElParador continues to be a unique experience. Better and better with time.
Solid place. Good food; mole is excellent. Good value
We came for a friend's birthday -- she wanted mole and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious! Also, we asked for a quiet table and they accommodated us very nicely. They found us a table in the back, away from the bar. From start to finish, they took great care of us even bringing the birthday celebrant a wonderful dessert and singing happy birthday!
Everything was delicious and so fresh. Extensive menu. I am a vegan and they were able to accommodate me with many options Great margaritas. Beautiful, calm and classy old world atmosphere. I will definitely be back!
If you are looking for a quiet spot with reasonable food for a Monday lunch, El Parador is for you.
Great food and service
The absence of background “music” was greatest appreciated. The service was a bit chaotic but the staff was well-meaning. The food was very good and the bill
was within reason. We will definitely come back when we are again in NYC.
Very good Mexican restaurant with some offerings not seen on most other Mexican places. Friendly, pleasant, yet professional service. A winner.
