   Excellent waitstaff. Our server was personable, and knowledgeable. We were first taken to a booth, but asked to have a table and the hostess quickly took us to a nice 6 top on the covered patio which was perfect. Nice selection of specialty cocktails. Fried chickpea appetizer was excellent as were the salads -- the shaved brussel sprout salad was the best I have ever tasted. Everyone enjoyed their main and we shared several desserts. Enjoyable evening. Will definitely be returning.

   We enjoyed our evening at El Nido. It's one of our favorite restaurants. Dan took great care of us at the bar, and the drinks and food were good as always. The chef had a special of opa (white fish from Hawaii), which is rare for us to see. Plus, the chef always takes into account my food sensitivities/allergies when asked. I really appreciate that. We highly recommend this restaurant!

   As always El Nido did not disappoint. We enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day Brunch with my 95 yr old mom and my son and husband. Mom & I ordered the Lobster Salad--we were sure it would be shy on the lobster but it was loaded with plenty of the delicacy in our delicious salad. The pastry basket was excellent as were the Bloody Marys. The table also ordered the waygu burger and omelet. They received rave reviews too. Of course we will return soon.

   Had a lovely mother's day lunch at El Nido. Lobster salad and pastry/bread basket were amazing on the patio. Service was a bit slow but other than that I would highly recommend. Beautiful food and space.

    As is usually the case, the food was great, although the menu is narrow. Service was great. The major issue, as it always is, parking. Located in a rural area with a small parking lot, usually parking on the side of the road and walking is the only solution.

    I hate writing this review because I am a big fan of El Nido but our recent experience was not what we had come to expect. The ambiance and service staff was on top of its game as usual however we were not pleased with the table at which we were set. (If making a reservation at El Nido I recommend specifying that you do not want to be seated at Table 6.) My complaint with this table for 2 is that one guest (my wife) was seated adjacent to the path of all diners coming into and leaving the restaurant. The second guest (me) was backed into a corner next to a wall that created an almost claustrophobic setting. This table certainly does not offer the intimate setting as many diners would like. I admit that I could have requested another table as we were being seated but the restaurant was quite busy and I chose to endure thinking it would not be as unpleasant as it turned out to be. The more disappointing part of our meal was the pizza we ordered. We have been to El Nido on several occasions and observed other diners enjoying what appeared to be delicious pizza. This visit we decided to give it a try. Unless the chef was having a bad evening, I suggest avoiding the pizza at all costs. I was surprised when the pizza arrived as it was luke warm at best. We waited quite some time so we were expecting it to be hot from the oven. My guess is that it sat in the kitchen for several minutes before it was delivered to our table. We asked for extra cheese and our request was ignored. Last, and most disappointing was the pizza itself. It looked and tasted like any pre-packaged pizza and not the wood fired pizza and crust that we were expecting. As I said in the beginning, I am a big fan of El Nido and will return again on our next visit to Santa Fe. I hope management takes my comments as constructive criticism and not a condemnation of your usual wonderful restaurant.

    The woman who fills water glasses wears a strong scent. Restaurants should be fragrance free. Not good for people with allergies. Fragrance affects the way food tastes

    The food and service were outstanding! We usually go to El Nido on every visit to Santa Fe, but hadn’t been back since the bison pasta was removed from the menu. We saw the addition of lamb pappardelle, among other new menu items, and decided to give it another try. We were so happy we did! Everything was perfect!

    We live locally and have wanted to try this restaurant for a while. The service and ambience were great but the meal was disappointing. The bread in the $10 bread basket was toasted just enough to make it hard but not enough to have a toast flavor. It's locally made bread and there is no reason to toast it unless it isn't fresh. The spinach under the butternut squash cannelloni had a weird vinegar/citrus thing happening with flavors that didn't pair well together. Despite mentioning that we were celebrating our anniversary on our reservation, this was never acknowledged. The tres leches cake was good, but overall our experience was lacking, especially considering the high tourist prices.

    Food was marvelous. Our waiter was very attentive. When we arrived, we were seated right next to another occupied table in an otherwise unoccupied dining area. When we asked to be reseated in a booth in the bar area, we were told it was all booked. We asked to speak to a manager and were then told we could be reseated in a booth in the bar. During our entire meal, only two of the booths in the bar were occupied; ours and one other. I would have happily given the experience a 5 star rating if not for the rocky start.

    Jeannine (the manager) went out of her way to make sure that we were seated at an appropriate table. We ended up in the sushi room - who knew?! Food on both menus was great and we had a leisurely dinner on a busy night.

    We have had many dinners as El Nido over many years, and it NEVER disappoints. The only reason for only 4 stars on ambience was the table of 8 next to us which was terribly loud and was the only issue detracting from a perfect time. Otherwise, we totally always love El Nido!!!

    The food was mediocre and certainly not worth the amount charged. The restaurant was very noisy. The only positive was the quality of the service. However we felt rushed to vacate our table. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all.

    Both of our sons and their wives were in town, and El Nido was everyone’s choice for dinner. My wife had a dozen of their green chili baked oysters for her entry, and the rest of us had the baked poblano or the leg of lamb. All were outstanding, as usual.

    El Nido is more than worth the short drive out to Tesuque Village for dinner! The food is incredible and a delicious change from the typical Southwestern cuisine but still authentic to the area. The menu is enticing, and the food exceeds your expectations. Delicious food, friendly, attentive service, very pleasant ambience. Would highly recommend!

    We went in for a light dinner and everything was great. My date had a brussels sprouts salad with salmon and I had a brussels sprouts salad and a pesto pizza. Both were delicious. Service was excellent and a good time was had by all.

    We have had several wonderful dining experiences at El Nido. Easter brunch seemed like a great way to spend with friends. Although the service was good, the food was very blah. At a minimum I feel a high-end restaurant. Should provide food. I couldn’t make myself at home.(they should be way better cooks than I am.) today didn’t meet that standard. My wife is from Maryland and the crabcake expert, her crabcake Benedict was definitely substandard by her report. I had the Montecristo sandwich, which just didn’t come together properly a bunch of ingredients between French toast that seemed soggy and just never got lift. off. My best guess is that in limiting the menu to just a few items those items were rather mass-produced instead of cook to order. I plan to go back to El Nido and give it another shot this time not on the brunch menu.

    Great dinner with friends. El Nido is a beautiful drive from Santa Fe via Bishop's Lodge Rd. Worth the effort. Fabulous food. Not your usual Santa Fe flavors. We had Veal with capers and Shrimp and Grits. Both were very, very good. Service is outstanding and the place has lots of character and a long Santa Fe history. So glad to see it's the tops again!
