El Naranjo is an Austin, TX restaurant that is proud to serve up high quality, fresh Mexican cuisine that has an authentic traditional favor. You can always find something interesting on the menu and those who visit often will find that it changes regularly.
Some of the typical items you will find on the menu at El Naranjo include guacamole, empanadas, ceviche and camarones al chrimole. You can also enjoy a variety of different types of tacos. In addition, you can enjoy the homemade moles, all of which are made from scratch. You can choose from pork chop, duck breast and other items. El Naranjo is the place to dine for authentic flavor.
One of my favorite places. Central Mexico flavor and freshness.
The food was amazing, as was the service. The brunch menu had excellent choices and the food was cooked to perfection. We had the poached eggs with the gorditas and the Hollandaise sauce, which included poblano pepper and gave it a nice punch. We will definitely be back!
It is a nice looking restaurant. The ambiance was sophisticated. The food was ok but not impressive.
$10 eggs Mexicana could feed 2! Fresh guacamole and handmade chips also great portion for 3 or more. Coffee good. Mimosa good. Great brunch!
Nice, intimate setting in a repurposed home on hip Rainey street. Absolutely delicious food! Really enjoyed their unique recipes for traditional dishes like mole, chile relleno, and empanadas, as well as an unusual appetizer spread and between-course snacks with small rolls. Service was attentive and chef/bartender were open to special requests. Will definitely go back. Just sad that they are closed on Mondays :(
My friend and I enjoy creative drinks and cuisine and El Naranjo did not disappoint. On top of that, great service and ambience. The level of sound was such one could carry on a conversation without having to shout to be heard.
This is a first-rate restaurant that takes care to present interior Mexico cooking at its best. The appetizers are excellent, and the small plates enough to make up a full meal. The moles are superb, particularly those from Oaxaca, where the chef had a restaurant for many years. The salsas are excellent, particularly the Salsa Macha (though not too spicy), which you can also buy.
Always wonderful. The mole's are excellent plus the special margaritas.
Especially helpful service with outstanding recommendations.
Food is always incredible. Service was awesome!
Overall disappointed. The actual menu was different from the website (went there specifically because of a dish that was listed on the website but wasn’t offered at the restaurant), and the overall quality of food was less than expected. It is a fairly expensive restaurant and not one that I’ll be returning to.
